According to the dog owner, San Diego policemen knocked on the door last Sunday morning and shot his dog, Burberry.

Ian Anderson says he opened his door to find two policemen early in the morning. When his pit bull bounded out from behind him, one of the officers reached out to pet the dog and the other one unloaded his weapon, according to surveillance video.
“Boom. Shot right in the head, and he was done,” Anderson told NBC San Diego. “He was dead.”
The officers were out investigating a domestic violence call when they mistakenly showed up at Anderson’s house.
It’s not clear why police targeted his house. A police spokesman didn’t immediately respond to questions from the Daily News.
“I know nothing will bring Burberry back, but it only seems necessary that this Officer is reprimanded for his disorderly actions, before this trigger happy Officer takes more lives,” Anderson wrote on Facebook.
Burberry was a registered service animal, who helped the 24-year-old deal with anxiety following his father’s death, Anderson told NBC San Diego.
“He was the best dog in the entire world,” he told NBC San Diego. “I would do anything to have him back right now. Absolutely anything.”
