Well, here’s some lovely news emerging from the new Iraq.

17.09 Chemical weapons produced at the Al Muthanna facility, which Isis today seized, are believed to have included mustard gas, Sarin, Tabun, and VX.

Here is the CIA’s file on the complex.

QuoteStockpiles of chemical munitions are still stored there. The most dangerous ones have been declared to the UN and are sealed in bunkers.

Although declared, the bunkers contents have yet to be confirmed.

These areas of the compound pose a hazard to civilians and potential blackmarketers.

Numerous bunkers, including eleven cruciform shaped bunkers were exploited. Some of the bunkers were empty. Some of the bunkers contained large quantitiesof unfilled chemical munitions, conventional munitions, one-ton shipping containers, old disabled production equipment (presumed disabled under UNSCOM supervision), and other hazardous industrial chemicals.

17.05 The Chemical Weapons Convention, which Iraq joined in 2009, requires it to dispose of the material at Al Muthanna, even though it was declared unusable and “does not pose a significant security risk”

However, the UK goverment has acknowledgeded that the nature of the material contained in the two bunkers would make the destruction process difficult and technically challenging.

I’m sure the terrorists can find some diabolical use, even for “unusable” chemical weapons.

ISIS also reportedly is flying its flag over a key Iraqi oil refinery.

President Obama delivered a bloodless statement on the situation today. He declared that the US would not be sending any troops into combat, but would send 300 “advisers” to help train the Iraqi army.

The US military spent a decade training the Iraqi military, with far more than 300 advisers. The training doesn’t seem to have stuck.

No, because they'll make it into Bush's fault for not destroying the WMD that the Left told us weren't there in the first place.

My guess would be no. If Obama personally set off a container of sarin gas in an elementary school, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz and Chris Matthews would all agree that it just means that he wants kids to spend more time outdoors in the fresh air.

So we owned the place for over 7 years and didn't destroy or remove the stuff. Why?

These stories are obvious lies. After all, this is the Religion of Peace that we are talking about.

We actually found these weapons previously and gave them to the IRS to catalog.

They lost the hard drives, so we've been saying for a decade that not a smidgen of weapons of mass destruction were found.

It took Obama to hand them off to terrorists as Bill Clinton, Madeleine Albright, William Cohen, Sandy Berger and one global warming sex poodle were screaming would happen.

Bush handed off an Iraq in relative peace after the surge.

Obama took peace and made war out of it. Weakness does that.

Are these the WMDs we couldn't find for 10 years? Why are there these things still in Iraq? Did our "civilian leadership" purposefully leave them there (looking at you Dick Cheney)?

So, God forbid, should a terrorist attack occur in the United States that can be traced back to this terrorist army marching across Iraq, using supplies they acquired during this conquest of Iraq - at THAT point can we finally get impeachment proceedings going against the Obumbler-in-Chief for sheer incompetence?

Maybe, but I think Obama is skating on thin ice these days. Even the electorate thinks he can't lead. So there's hope..

What you might get is a President Buckman in the next election (ref Tom Kratman's "Caliphate"). It could be... ugly.

Depends on what you call chemical weapons. I clean my toilet with white vinegar & baking soda & together they form a "chemical reaction"...but won't kill anything larger than bacteria. I expect these stockpiles can be called "cleaning solutions". /snarc

Obama sent 300 because he gets all his briefings from TV.

He figures he can take on the Persians with 300, because that's what his TV oracle told him.
