Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice is pretty unhappy at you people in the media. All she did was claim that a man the military believes deserted his post and wound up in the hands of the Taliban served in the military with “honor and distinction.”

We all misunderstood her. We thought “honor” and “distinction” actually meant something. Rice got cornered by CNN’s Jim Acosta at the Normandy invasion commemoration today, and he peppered her with questions about those two words.

(For you millennials who attended public schools where heroic American history is no longer taught, the Normandy invasion is kind of a big deal. Bigger than Kanye and Kim’s wedding, even. Seriously. You should ask your teachers why they didn’t tell you about it.)

Rice did her best to devalue both honor and distinction.

In a Sunday appearance on ABC’s This Week, Rice insisted that Bergdahl “served the United States with honor and distinction.”

“I realize there has been a lot of discussion and controversy around this,” Rice said of her remarks from Sunday. “What I was referring to is the fact that this was a young man who volunteered to serve his country in uniform at a time of war. That in itself is a very honorable thing.”

“But ‘honor and distinction?’” Acosta asked.

“Jim, really,” Rice replied. “This is a young man whose circumstances we are still going to learn about.”

“He is, as all Americans, innocent until proven guilty,” she continued.

Let’s pause right there, to note that Rice’s boss and his associates frequently call Republicans “terrorists” when refusing to negotiate with them. Her boss and his associates then negotiated with actual terrorists.

“He is now being tried in the court of public opinion after having gone through enormously traumatic five years of captivity. His parents, the same.”

So there you have it. While Susan Rice stood on soil won by the blood and toil of allied troops 70 years ago today, she devalued everything that they did. They served with honor and distinction and bravery and selflessness, and 9,000 of them died in that invasion. They defeated the Nazis and won our freedom.

What they did, and what Bowe Bergdahl did when he walked off his post, amount to the same thing in Susan Rice’s mind.

Mediaite has video of the exchange at the link above.

I've described Obama as the ultimate revenge of affirmative action. The real vengeance is being enacted upon us by the same underlying mentality that gave us affirmative action, as well as grade inflation, a contempt for actual excellence, and a scorn for genuine patriotism. In an age of very diminished expectations, it is easy to see why an idiot like Rice would speak as she does.

“Jim, really,” Rice replied. “This is a young man whose circumstances we are still going to learn about.”

Then wouldn't it be premature to claim he served with honor and distinction?

Rice is just a willing liar for a man who hates and despises his country, and is doing everything in his power to destroy it. I'm not talking about Bergdahl.

She didn't say he JOINED with honor and distinction...she said he SERVED with honor and distinction.

THAT appears to be in serious doubt and is what is setting of his unit mates.

And five years in "captivity" is also up for discovery. He may not have been free to leave, because he was a bargaining chip. But "captivity" implies an unwillingness to be there and to serve as that bargaining chip.

If Bergdahl offered himself to the Taliban, then voluntary "captivity" is a wholly different thing.

Dirty Rice is a Woodstock flak. She has no honor and deserves no distinction.

If she had good judgment, she would not be working in the White House.

Susan Rice has repeatedly demonstrated her abysmal judgment, first when evaluating the wisdom of lying about Benghazi, now about the wisdom of turning loose 5 murderous Taliban, disregarding the advice of the military, the intelligence community, Panetta, and even Hillary. Rice was not only called upon to trumpet this triumph on the Sunday talk shows, she was also a major force in forming Obama''s decision to do this crazy deed in the first place. Rice is Obama's NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR, the chief advisor to the President on national security issues! How does that make you feel?

“Jim, really,” Rice replied. REALLY. Nothing matters in the liberal world; their eyes fixed on a distant horizon that only they can see. Honor? Really.

Please keep him in custody and safe from harm -- we don't need a Jack Ruby moment changing The Narrative yet again.

This paste from the article here sums up the past several years inside our America:

"(For you millennials who attended public schools where heroic American history is no longer taught, the Normandy invasion is kind of a big deal. Bigger than Kanye and Kim’s wedding, even. Seriously. You should ask your teachers why they didn’t tell you about it.)"

WWII ended with a bang that was heard around the world; making a point. Today we drone with impunity while we parse and nuance in our dealing with individual terrorists. Even to the point of arguing that they deserve access to our system of justice.
So millennnials may be a bit confused when looking at the world; their knowledge unmoored from the past.

Much of what any spokesman for this administration won't stand up to even modest analysis. And they do it because they are never called to account. So, in a sense, Susan Rice has been back-door-ed. Somebody in the media actually homed in on the sheer ridiculousness of what she said. There should'a been a warning before she said it.

This will be the legacy of obama. Lies and spin. Nothing this idiot has done has worked or turned out to ba anything close to what we were told it would be. But wait! If you stick around we will spin it so that we were right from the beginning and it was you who had the problem not understanding what we meant. Like Biden said yesterday "We didn't promise good paying jobs"!

Of course most thinking Americans remember that during the years 2001-2009, the Dems/Left/progressives/liberals all castigated GWB for counting minimum wage jobs in the "job creation" category. The hypocrisy is to be expected, of course. But it still chaps my hide to constantly be bombarded with it.

Where's a Time Machine when you need one? It would be PERFECT if Rice were standing on the beach in Normandy & suddenly it was 70 years ago.
