For weeks after the fatal attack at the US facility in Benghazi, Libya, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Ambassador Susan Rice and other administration officials insisted that the attack occurred because of a protest. The officials charged that an obscure YouTube movie offensive to Muslims caused the protest, which led to the spontaneous attack.

According to the CIA’s station chief, there was no protest.

The attack was “not an escalation of protests,” the station chief wrote to then-Deputy CIA Director Michael J. Morell in an email dated Sept. 15, 2012 — a full day before the White House sent Susan E. Rice to several Sunday talk shows to disseminate talking points claiming that the Benghazi attack began as a protest over an anti-Islam video.

That the talking points used by Mrs. Rice, who was then U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, were written by a CIA that ignored the assessment by its own station chief inside Libya, has emerged as one of the major bones of contention in the nearly two years of political fireworks and congressional investigations into the Benghazi attack.

What has never been made public is whether Mr. Morell and others at the CIA explicitly shared the station chief’s assessment with the White House or State Department.

We may learn the answer to that question in a congressional hearing on Benghazi tomorrow. But most likely, we won’t. A source says that Morell did tell the White House about the station chief’s assessment, which would just provide more evidence that the Obama administration from the president on down lied repeatedly about the deaths of four Americans. Their motivation was clear at the time: They had an election to win. Obama had to rest up for a big fundraiser the following day and couldn’t be bothered to do his job as commander-in-chief. The Democrats have circled around the key lies in both the IRS abuse and Benghazi scandals, plus they now have the GM recall to provide a distraction. The media refuse to cover either as genuine scandals anymore, and they will also follow the GM storyline much more closely than they ever covered Benghazi. The Republican investigations are taking years and are far from aggressive enough. Both scandals cry out for special prosecutors, but neither are likely to get one.

Chances are, no one will ever be prosecuted — other than the man who made the film, that is — and Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton et all will have gotten away with yet another cover-up. In denying repeated requests for increasing security from Ambassador Chris Stevens, Clinton appears on track to get away with negligent homicide.

The only mechanism the House Repubs have to investigate this, is a special committee which can ONLY be called by Boehner. He refuses to do so. He is intentionally standing in the way of ANY kind of REAL investigation into Benghazi or any other scandal.

Boehner is protecting Shrillary AND Obama. I wonder why that is?

I'd like to think there is a special place in hell for people like Clinton and Rice and all of them who smugly, arrogantly lie to the people and then strut about after they have gotten away with it.

Throughout human history, there are the well-documented stories of those types of miscreants who, when caught with their pants down, either did the honorable thing, or were, uh, summarily, uh, "dealt with".

I don't want to invoke Godwin's law but it was a clear case of comeuppance that many of the perpetrators of evil either went to meet their maker or were held in captivity for very long periods of time to life.

Sadly, the evil that lives in our current government is extremely proud of its ability to ply the "art" of politics. And, it reaffirms why most normal, thinking human-beings avoid it whenever possible. But to counter that statement, politics seems to be in everything humans do; at all levels of interaction with other "fellow" humans and starts the moment we are introduced to other humans, be they family members or neighbors or what-have-you.

In any case, some humans revel in it; Others, like myself, detest it and categorically disagree with it for the simple reason that it's a dishonest way to get things done.

But what has been going on for decades now has sunk to the level of criminal. The cloak of socialism has come off the ardent purveyors of the party of greed. I call them socialists to their faces and trust me, they don't like it. The truth stings like salt in a wound and exposes them.
