Sandra Fluke Files to Run for Congress

This ridiculous story has given us the headline of the day, from Jammie Wearing Fool.

Woman Who Can’t Afford Her Own Birth Control Scrapes Up Money to File for Congressional Run

That’s the headline that Fluke deserves. She ought to be a figure of ridicule. She’s a longtime Georgetown Law student, who told Congress that she can’t afford her own $9 a month birth control. Helpless she may be, but that’s not stopping her from taking her incompetence and inexperience straight to power over the rest of us.

Let’s see how the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake treats Fluke’s ambitions. Here is his lead sentence.

Women’s rights activist Sandra Fluke appears to be moving forward with a run for Congress.

Wait, what about the Little Sisters of the Poor? They’re the nuns who oppose the same abortifacient mandate that Fluke supports. Are they not women? Do they not have rights? To Aaron Blake, the nuns are not women and they do not have rights.

Sandra Fluke is not a “women’s rights activist.” She is a government-power advocate.

Fluke has filed with the California state Democratic Party to seek its endorsement in the race for retiring Rep. Henry Waxman’s (D-Calif.) seat, according to the state party Web site.

Well, as awful a representative as Fluke would be, she can’t be worse than Waxman. She just won’t be any better.

Other candidates for the seat are former Los Angeles mayoral finalist Wendy Greuel (D) and state Sen. Ted Lieu (D), the other two candidates who have also filed and paid the fee, but the field is expected to be very crowded for a seat Waxman has monopolized for decades.

Fluke presents something of an x-factor. She’s not as well-known locally as Greuel and Lieu, but has a national profile thanks to her advocacy on contraception coverage under Obamacare, which in 2012 led conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh to call her a “slut” and later apologize.

Blake couldn’t resist closing the story with a quip to make Fluke out to be a victim. The fact is, Sandra Fluke is a thief. She wants to pick the pockets of nuns to pay for her own birth control.

Unless Fluke turns out to be a Wendy Davis-level bad candidate — which is possible — she’ll probably win. The leftist media will cast her as a saint, and too many people out there are as suggestible as these dopes that Jimmy Kimmel mocked last night.
