John McCain gets stacks and stacks of letters.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said over the weekend that he’s getting lots of pressure to run for president again, but that “it’s not on my radar.”

McCain said previously that he’s considering running for reelection when his Senate seat is up in 2016, when he will be 80 years old.

From the Arizona Republic:

“Particularly since the shutdown, I’ve had a spate of e-mails and letters and phone calls saying, ‘Run for president again.’”

They’re all coming from Democrats and Beltway reporters.

Maybe the Defense & Oil Industries that own him, might want that old John (warmonger) McCain to run but no one else. If he does it would be the biggest landslide defeat in the history of this country.

So tell me, Senator -- these people that want you to run again: are they the ones who stole your strawberries?

I will say one thing for Chris Christie, he could probably out-poll McCain as the Republican candidate in 2016......but that ain't sayin' much.

At least I got a good laugh out of McCain's statement.

I admit that when I first heard this earlier today, my first hope would be that Sarah Palin would get into the race; just to crush his backstabbing RINO a** in the primaries. Then there was another thought. Let us say that he does run. Would his presence split the vote of the Institutional Republicans and weaken Chris Christie? Perhaps enough to let a Patriot steal the Republican nomination?

And if he runs for president in any putative 2016 election; would it not at least keep him off the floor of the Senate during the primaries, where he does untold mischief to the country? And during the primaries, would he not at least have to pretend not to hate conservatives, limiting how far Left his votes could go? And if he was soundly rejected by the Republican party base, is it not possible that he could go somewhere more conducive to his real beliefs? Like the Democrat Party?

This should not be dismissed out of hand. Yes, he should run. Of course, he should lose, but he definitely should run.

Now, if we can get the first term Senator with no accomplishments, at best a nebulous past, whose acquaintance with the truth is nodding at most, to run for the Democrat nomination against Hillary [I'm speaking of Fauxcahontas Warren, despite the resemblance of the description to Teh Won], would it not split the Lefty-Harpy-Woman vote? And assuming that Buraq does not run for a 3rd term [he has ignored the Constitution for everything else and gotten away with it], would that not throw the Left into confusion?

You beat me to this. Damn you.

The same people want McCan't to run in 2016 that wanted him to run in 2008. The Democrats want the weakest horse on our side in the race.

If we run John again, it will be with a spade bit in his mouth and we will use the crop.

What he doesn't say is that all those people are the ones that would benefit from his campaign. Those that get paid whether he wins or not. And of course, as missu says, the dems who know he wouldn't stand a snowball's chance of winning.
