A PJ volunteer is in Washington and captured these photos of the veterans’ march on the National Mall earlier today. Our volunteer says, “It was the best public disobedience I’ve ever witnessed.” Veterans swarmed the World War II, Vietnam and Lincoln memorials. They removed the barrycades from all of the memorials, starting with the WWII Memorial. From there, the veterans tore the barrycades down at the Vietnam Memorial before moving on to liberating the Lincoln Memorial.

Police were present and attempted to set the removed barrycades back into place. But the volunteers made a human chain, singing the National Anthem, and prevented police from putting the barrycades back into place. The veterans eventually moved some of the barrycades over to the White House, so their namesake could see them.

Veterans also captured the paper shutdown signs from barrycades, posed for photos with them, and took them home as spoils.

Several prominent Republicans also turned out to support the veterans’ march.

Not forgotten.

Just a few veterans too many for the NPS to deal with.

I love how the barrycades weren't so much torn down, as they were neatly stacked off to the side. Details like this, and the noticeable lack of violence and hooliganism, separate the protests of conservatives from the boozy, hateful, dirty, riotous antics of liberals (insert "hashtag occupy wall street" here). But I'm betting the MSM won't notice or mention this, if they mention today's events at all beyond the usual "angry bitter racist teabagger terrorists" line.

Oh My: National Park Service Admits It Discussed Plan To Close War Memorials With Obama Officials… In other words, we were right all along, this was orchestrated by the Obama regime to make the shutdown as painful as possible.

The reason why I think all of this "Political Crisis" is FAKE, is because it could all be overwith in 2 days if we would simply declare "National Whip A Liberal's Ass Week"...Each of us grab One Liberal, - stomp his ass on a parking lot...- Fix this country in One Weekend...

The barrycades were put back at the WW II Memorial this morning.
They supposedly will allow in only Honor Flights.
An ordinary American or DC visitor is blocked out of Lincoln and more??
Razor or concertina wire and claymores pending?

Next Sunday, if they're still up, they should be dismantled again and dumped into the Potomac... preferably at the Jefferson Memorial's tidal pool.

I think that Tom would have approved of this.

Just two quick thoughts:

1. The optics of this do not favor the Republican Establishment. No sign of Boehner, McConnell, McCain. Lots of photos of Palin, Cruz, Lee. It's clear who cares and who is on our side.

2. Had it been up to me, I would have moved the barrycades and surrounded the White House with them with the "Do Not Cross" signs facing inward toward the White House.

A liberal facebook friend posted a picture of Cruz at the 'rally to end the government shutdown by the man who caused the government shutdown,' and called it a confederation of dunces, referring to Cruz, Palin and a sighting of a confederate flag. In other words, the optics are bad, perhaps, but to some people the republicans will always look bad and the Tea Party is evil so it doesn't really matter.

Didn't it turn out that "Occupy" crowd are anarchists and trust fund babies? I'll bet you would find NONE of those categories in this crowd.

Thank you veterans, and those veterans who came out nationwide.

Where are all the confederate flags and burning crosses that CNN was talking about?

There was one guy, at the very edge of the crowd, by himself, with a confederate flag. CNN chose him to represent this entire huge demonsration, and completely ignored the vets in wheelchairs holding american flags, or the guys stacking the barriers at the WH. Of course when multiple commie flags were sighted in the OWS demonstrations, did CNN show any of them, no way.
