Sen. John McCain has not covered himself in glory in any of the recent political debates in Washington. After Sen. Ted Cruz delivered a courageous 21-hour filibuster — OK, it wasn’t technically a filibuster — to halt funding for Obamacare, McCain delivered what was basically the Democratic Party’s response. Months before that, McCain called Cruz and other Tea Party Republicans “wacko birds.”

Sen. McCain is at least sorry about the latter offense.

Sen. John McCain said Thursday that he’s worried about the Republican Party’s future and the infighting that is dividing it, calling efforts by conservatives to unseat incumbent Republican lawmakers “wrong.”

The famously wry McCain, R-Ariz., said he regretted calling the Tea Party wing of the Republican Senate conference “wacko birds” during budget negotiations, saying he’s learned to “never get personal” in political disputes.

But McCain remains worried about the growing number of Republicans attacking members of their own party.

“I do worry about the Republican Party,” he said at the Hero Summit hosted by The Daily Beast. “It’s the first time I have ever seen Republican senators running ads, raising money that is being used to attack incumbent Republican senators.”

McCain could stop insulting fellow Republicans and train some of his comments at Democrats. That would be a good start.

He could also decide not to hire liars itching to get the US into war in Syria.

He COULD do those things and more. But if he did, Harry Reid would not love him, the State-Controlled Media would not say nice things about him, and he would not be able to look at himself in the morning. He is what he is.

"But McCain remains worried about the growing number of Republicans attacking members of their own party."

Sarah Palin, anyone?

How he allowed his aides to destroy her reputation from inside his own campaign is despicable.

Ted Cruz, anyone?

Who was it that was rumored to be feeding the Democrats and media types negative information on Cruz?

The man is a f$#*ing hypocrite!

If McCain wishes to serve another term in the senate he needs to hurry up and switch parties....his days as a republican are numbered. Of course, he could also announce he is going to "resign" due to the "lack of civility" spreading through the senate......LIAR - he KNOWS he cannot win again as a republican.....dooshbag traitor I will never forgive his public attack of Bachmann-Ghomert-et al who were trying to expose the infestation of MOOSLIM BRUTHAHOOD operatives into our security apparatus (FBI-CIA-NSA-State-Defense). Now, there are literally dozens (maybe hundreds) of MB islamists influencing policy and operations - UNFORGIVABLE!

In regards to the infighting that so many have said will be the downfall of the Republican party, I find myself reminded of a verse in the Bible.
Matthew 7:5 First take the beam out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
I see this infighting as just that, the Republicans taking care of their own issues so that we can tackle the issue of the Dems.

For those who would come back with, "A house divided against itself cannot stand." (Mat. 12:25) I will say, we were divided long before the infighting began. The infighting began when some saw the division and decided to stand up against the Dems who happen to have an R by their names.

The Republican party has a sickness akin to cancer where certain cells basically turn against the body. When you have cancer, you don't try to find a middle ground and get along with it. You cut the cancer out. It isn't a pleasant thing and can get downright messy, but with the cancer gone, the body can heal and grow stronger.

"he said at the Hero Summit hosted by The Daily Beast." What was he doing at a hero summit? All he did was manage to get his plane shot down and himself captured. Unless it happens to be a hero sandwich summit.

What he regrets is unmasking himself. The TEA party types are life a wee bit uncomfortable for the establishment types. They would prefer we let them go back to taxing and spending into oblivion.
