Matt Lewis has some choice quotes and video from Sen. Marco Rubio’s Senate speech earlier today.

“I have received numerous emails and calls from conservatives and tea party activists,” he said at the beginning of his remarks.

“To hear the worry, anxiety, and growing anger in the voices of so many people who helped me get elected to the Senate, who I agree with on virtually every other issue, has been a real trial for me,” he confessed.

But he said he told them that he would go to Washington to “fight to stop what is bad for America,” and that what we have now is, in fact, hurting America. ”I simply wasn’t going to leave it to Democrats alone to try to figure out how to fix it.”

So, going by the evidence, he chose collaboration with Bob Menendez and Joe “Unfettered Path” Biden instead.

Rubio wasn’t done.

And he assured them he would continue to fight along side them for “real tax reform, lowering the debt, balancing our budget, reducing regulations, rolling back job-killing environmental policies and repealing the disaster of Obamacare,” and to defend “the sanctity of life and traditional marriage.”

Passing the immigration bill makes all of those battles more difficult for Republicans to win. All of them. Over time, his immigration bill hands the Democrats power for a generation. When that happens, ObamaCare will seem quaint compared to what they’re likely to come up with.

I don’t know how the man who ran on a strong border security platform and is now trading that away for empty promises from Chuck Schumer gets any sleep at night. Maybe they’re not the same man after all.

WITHOUT THE STRINGENT REVISIONS TO THE SENATE BILL, IT WILL BE DEAD ON ARRIVAL IN THE HOUSE?

The inept immigration reform bill has passed in the Senate; nevertheless it’s full of exemptions, giant loopholes, waivers, special privileges and barefaced lies for the unknown numbers of illegal aliens and special interests, with nothing of financial benefit for jobless Americans. All those who pressed for this poorly drafted volume of garbage, will be assured of getting a pink slip, especially Republicans who turned collaborator. This document as it stands will never pass the house, as one Representative said “It’s a Pipe Dream”

Incidentally Rep. Paul Ryan is dead meat, who signed on to this awful de-facto amnesty.
Republican Speaker of the house Boehner will be given his marching orders by representatives, unless he commits himself to al Sen. Sessions, Sen. .Grassley amendment major triggers that the G8 and the GOP conspirators rejected.

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has launched a national petition. It is at SecureBordersNow,” Cruz said. “In just a week, we’ve had 100,000 people from all over the country sign that petition speaking out to say ‘Do not do legalization first. Secure the borders first, fix the problem.”?

A petition seeking to abolish the Internal Revenue Service recently started by the American Center for Law and Justice and since moved to its own website abolishirsnow. The time has gone to eradicate the IRS and deliver to the American taxpayer a Fair tax code, which allows no exemptions for anybody including welfare for corporations. But he said he told them that he would go to Washington to “fight to stop what is bad for America,” but instead he went to Washington and made things worse. I emailed Sen. Rubio (again) and told him that if he votes for this legislation then none of his other votes will matter. This issue is so huge that I don't care how he votes on anything else. This really pains me because I live in Florida and we have a huge illegal immigration population in my area. I know first hand all the problems that illegal immigration has caused and so does Rubio. He's chosen to ignore his constituents so right back at him.

Sorry Senator. You had a choice between Charles Schumer and the people who elected you. You chose Schumer. Live with it.

Stick a fork in Rubio, he's done (as a Republican). Next up for Marco...changing parties.

He saw these people pillory him for weeks for taking a sip of water.

Now he trusts them more than the people who elected him, and who have been his stalwart defenders?

What is he thinking?
