Mickey Kaus remembers a time, back in 2007 when the last shamnesty train had pulled into the station, that YouTube helped slay the beast.

That was back when I was still with Hot Air. Kaus had the idea. We pounced. We produced so many anti-shamnesty ads in one day that the always pro-amnesty Wall Street Freakin’ Journal got skeered:

Hot Air Network’s Web ad, viewable at left, urged “conservatives fed up with Republican scheming on this bill, [to] do something about it. If you gave to the party in the past year, you can demand your money back. Call the Republican National Committee today and demand a full refund. If you gave to any senator or congressman in the past year, call their office and demand a full refund.” Just who sponsors Hot Air’s ad, and other similar ads popping up across the Internet, is unclear.

Actually, it was very clear. We made ‘em. All of ‘em. Three of us working non-stop to write, capture, edit and post the ads. They were good ads, if I do say so myself. The voiceovers: My dulcet tones.

My personal favorite, the Love Song of Edward M. Kennedy (now deceased). I thank you for your soul.

Back then, I was nearly the only video editor on the right. Our little team was a three-person digital wrecking crew. And we helped destroy a bad bill.

Today we have Ben Howe, Stephen Crowder, PJTV, the folks at Breitbart and the Shark Tank and lots of others all over the country. Computers are faster, editing programs are plentiful, and broadband is far more mainstream than it was then. We have many more ways to spread the word now than we had then.

Folks, we can do this. You can do this.

If you produce an anti-amnesty video ad and post it online, email the link to us here at PJ Media. If it’s good we’ll post it and spread it around.

We merry band of digital brothers and sisters killed amnesty with our pixels once. We can do it again.

It is important for the Republicans to pass this bill so they get the hispanic vote, just like they got the black vote after supporting the civil rights act back in the 60's. Dream on guys.

So I can call Marco "Pathway to Amnesty" Marco back for a refund on the dollars I sent to his campaign? Neat!

The WSJ drew back a bloody stump when they tried to diddle their readers into supporting Shamnesty. They acknowledged it several times in their subsequent opeds.

It's time to update the fake Mexican bank note showcased on Malkin's web site at tha time, in order to torment the NRC, et al. Instead of Dubya's face it needs to be Rubio's.
