Here’s the story:

A leader of the House Pro-Choice Caucus suggested Tuesday that Republicans don’t have strong feelings against rape.

The remark came as Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) criticized the GOP’s proposed ban on late-term abortions ahead of a House vote on the measure.

Slaughter slammed Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee, all men, who rejected a rape exception to the bill during its markup last week.

“I’m of the opinion now … that if you really were to question all of them, that there is a sort of continuity of thought that rape is really not so bad and that the likelihood of getting pregnant is small,” Slaughter told a press conference.

Vote fraud isn’t so bad for Democrats, so I guess it’s even.

Conservatives want women to be packing heat so that they can teach rapists a potentially fatal lesson. Meanwhile, the Dems want women to be defenseless, and we're the one's who think that rape is "not so bad"?

What an obese, hideous, disgusting cow....sounds like a Freudian Slip on her part; what she meant to say was, "I don't think rape is so bad...we butcher the babies when there's no rape involved, so why not when there is rape? Sounds like you guys are splitting hairs to me."

No matter how wealthy or powerful a person may become during their tenure in this life, we ALL have absolutely one thing in common: one day, each and every last one of us will have to kneel down before the Lord and make an account of our lives, in our own tongue, before Him. There will be no lapses in memory, no embellishment or shading the truth, no, "well, it depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is", and no refusing to answer a question on the grounds that your answer may incriminate you. It will be God, you (me) and hopefully you will have Jesus at your side to vouch for you.

I would hate to be some of these people who have devoted their lives to such atrocities as abortion, or who have so callously disobeyed God's word supporting such abominations as gay marriage. We may never see true justice and equality here on Earth, but I assure you we will ALL be judged equally in the eyes of the Lord.

Oh, yeah... Is she talking about "rape", or "rape - rape"?? Cuz, you know, there's a difference

Stats on pregnancies seem to be all over the place (surprise), Wikipedia say about 5% in the US. Christian Life Resources puts it much lower. They also go into much more explanation than Wikiperdia. It's an interesting read.

@SoS - exactly. Why punish the child for the sin(s) of the father?? Shoot, the child wasn't even alive when it happened.

I don't think the Democrats define a child as alive until it is voting Democrat ;-)

What was it that one Dem told a young woman out in Colorado? Just lay back and enjoy it because if you had a gun you'd probably die anyway.

This, in a nutshell, is the uphill slog the GOP faces in public perception. That a Congressperson can say this in public and NOT have it challenged shows that the image of the GOP created by the Democrats has worked. This is what people believe to be true.

Somewhere along the way Republicans decided their best defense was to hold the moral high ground, be above petty, callous remarks and to "kill them with kindness." The fatal flaw in that "strategery" is assuming the media will ever give a Republican a fair shake and honestly report an issue in the first place.

Many concerned Americans have wished for ages that a true conservative would appear who isn't afraid of the dems, the msm or any other anti-American element and TAKE THE GLOVES OFF - fight back, be aggressive, call them out for who and what they are, provide undeniable facts and examples. Let's take the fight to them for a change instead of just sitting back, taking their crap, and hoping the media will suddenly like us.

Stop listening to Rove, Grover, Mitt, that old fool Bob Dole and Rince-Prince-Priss what's his name and START listening to LTC. West, Ted, Trey, Sarah, King, Michelle, La. Senator Elbert Guillory (look him up) et al. The hell with the msm...we've got a country to save!

So, making an exception for the babies which result from rape is okay? Why? Are they 2nd-class babies? How about an exception because they are black babies? Or an exception for Hispanic babies? We'll classify them as 2nd-class babies and the babies from rape & incest as 3rd-class.

Oh, wait, that is exactly what we do, now. Minority children are the great majority of those aborted, and rape babies are almost always aborted.

It's as I always say, the ONLY question that's relevant vis a vis abortion is at what point we consider the fetus to be a human being. If it's a person it deserves full legal protection, if it isn't it deserves none. How it was conceived is completely immaterial.

That's why I think the Democrats absolutely surrendered the moral and intellectual arguments when they adopted the motto "keep it safe, legal and rare". Why keep it rare? If it's a clump of cells and not a human life who gives a crap how many you remove? There's no lobby to keep wisdom tooth extraction rare, right? Of course not. So saying they want to keep it rare is an admission that they're doing something wrong and they know it.

And it's an even bigger red-herring in this specific case. It doesn't take 20 weeks to realize you've been raped, and it shouldn't take 20 weeks to decide you want an abortion.

Exactly right. And what's rare about millions of abortions every year?

How it was conceived is completely immaterial.

Ask a pro-abort if they think the living children of convicted rapists should be executed, and watch their heads spin.
