For some comic relief, read the New York Times’ latest on global warming, or rather, the lack of global warming. Writer Justin Gillis struggles mightily to explain why the data show no warming over the last 15 years even as greenhouse gases have supposedly piled up faster than scandals in the Obama administration.

The one theory not proffered: That the previous years of warming were due to natural cycles and/or were hyped by scientists and flunkies like Al Gore because it served their political agendas.

Gillis even suggests that global warming skeptics are cherry-picking data now. He never considers that proponents ever did that, even though the Climategate emails prove that they did.

It’s a nice, light, quick read on the state of mind within the embattled global warming hype movement. They’re having a major sad because the data just won’t rid them of meddlesome capitalism.

Which would bring us right back to where we were in the 1970s.

That's the part that infuriates me. When I was a child the environmental movement was warning us in a hysterical tone that human activity was going to bring on a new ice age by the 90s. As the 80s drew to a close with no real change they shifted gears and, barely pausing to take a breath, started shrieking about global warming in the same apocalyptic terms. Now we've gone 15 years without any warming and yeah, there's evidence that they're starting to go back to cooling.

The climate change believers show all the worst traits of religious fanatics with none of the upside.

I'm probably in your age group and the Time cover and the ensuing hoopla was the reason for my post. As a man of science (BS Bio, minor Chem) I am appalled at the fraud that passes as science. NEVER any mention of precession, solar ejections, major volcanic events, etc when debating (term used very loosely!) on climate science. After all interglacial periods are suppose to be warm! Oh we'll, don't see any let up until they sift to cooling and then, here we go again!

For those who don't already know this: holding on to a belief in spite of empirical evidence to the contrary isn't science. It is, in fact, the exact opposite of science.
