David Plouffe, like David Axelrod and Bob Bauer, bounced back and forth between Obama’s campaigns and White House, as the IRS was abusing the president’s opponents. On Sunday, Plouffe pushed the panic button over Rep. Darrell Issa’s investigation into the IRS abuse scandal.

In the words of Obama spokesman Jay Carney, the Benghazi attack on 9-11-12 was a “long time ago.” But something that happened 33 years ago, and of which Issa was cleared decades ago, is relevant? Care to show your work on this, Barack Obama?

NRO’s Jim Geraghty provides a little perspective on what was going on when the charge against Issa went bye-bye.

The White House is deeply worried. Obama is trying to pick a fight over student loans to distract, as Biden has gone off into a cave somewhere. Aides are floating Holder as a sacrificial lamb to the New York Times. Contrary to Obama’s claim that he’s “outraged” by the IRS, his apologists aren’t even expressing any outrage that the IRS abused citizens based on their politics. They’re defending the IRS, calling the scandal “stupid” and attacking the people’s investigators. With new hearings coming this week, they’re behaving as if they have something to hide, which is among the best evidence available that they do.

dishonest people trying to pull out all the stops. this how our poser got into office originally, attacking his opponent's past in Chicago; but, his highly questionable documentation is beyond reproach? name calling? personal attacks dug up from decades ago? the futile death throes of a corrupt administration headed down the drain. hitlery bailed. bumbling biden's in hiding. the rats are bailing off this sinking false flag ship.

can we start looking at the obvious childlike computer forgeries yet? there were no computers in 1961, and the p.o. never used a stamp saying '80. they always used 1980 or 1880, or 1780, for obvious reasons.

Eric Holder lost his job and possibly his law license when he told judges that he intended to prosecute David Rosen, securing broad search warrants that wouldn't have been granted without that claim. Everyone across the political spectrum can agree that what Eric Holder did is totally unacceptable.

It's not Darrell Issa that will bring down the Obama administration. It's Catherine Engelbrecht of True The Vote. Her lawsuits and the courts will eventually uncover who was involved in coordinating the alphabet soup of federal agencies that went after her. Considering that President Obama is rapidly approaching lame duck status, the best outcome is the Golfer-in-Chief throwing a large number of his subordinates under a fleet of buses as he tries to contain the scandals. I'm guessing that people at the level of Robert Bauer, David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, etc. eventually feel the heat, but there will be no paper trail or recordings that lead directly to the President.

Of course, Issa's being attacked, both overtly and covertly, because he's beginning to unravel the network of lies and cover-ups that Obama has spun to protect his criminal activities. That can't be allowed to happen and every tactic, including smearing Issa, and distracting the public will be deployed by the Obama regime.

That's why a special counsel is needed to pursue these issues. Issa, as an elected politician, is vulnerable to such attacks, a special counsel isn't.
