Enlightened, Tolerant, Left-Leaning State Legislature Won't Even Vote On Gay Marriage

Progress, or something.

Gay and lesbian couples who want to legally marry in Illinois willl have to wait.

His voice breaking with emotion, state Rep. Greg Harris (D-Chicago) tearfully said Friday that he will not call for a vote on his bill legalizing same-sex marriage before the session adjourns in a few hours.

I am posting this only to point out that, if this were a legislative session ending thusly in a state as dominated by Republicans as Illiinois is by Democrats, every lefty news/blog outlet in America would be in full panties-in-a-wad mode about it.
