The “explosive” hearing at which State Department whistleblowers are expected to reveal new details surrounding the Benghazi attacks and the administration’s role before and after has been set for a week from today.

“Benghazi: Exposing Failure and Recognizing Courage” will be May 8 at 11:30 a.m., House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) announced this morning.

“This Administration has offered the American people only a carefully selected and sanitized version of events from before, during, and after the Benghazi terrorist attacks” said Issa. “Not surprisingly, this version of events casts senior officials in the most favorable light possible.”

“Last October, the Oversight Committee exposed State Department denials of security requests made by our diplomats in Libya and forced the Obama Administration to concede that there never was a protest of a YouTube video. Next week’s hearing will expose new facts and details that the Obama Administration has tried to suppress.”

Witnesses are to be announced.

Asked about a report that State Department employees were being warned not to testify on Benghazi, Obama said at a press conference yesterday he was “not familiar” with what the reporter was asking about.

“I’m not familiar with this notion that anybody has been blocked from testifying,” said Obama. “So what I’ll do is I will find out what exactly you are referring to.”

Issa noted four letters have been sent to the administration since mid-April asking that information be made available to the whistleblowers’ laywers.

“Even if the president really doesn’t know anything about someone wanting to come forward, his position should be that whistleblowers deserve protection and that anyone who has different information about Benghazi is free to come forward to Congress,” the chairman added. “The president’s unwillingness to commit himself to protecting whistleblowers only aids those in his administration who are intimidating them.”

The Oversight hearing comes a day after the Senate Foreign Relations Committee considers the nomination of Obama’s pick for ambassador to Libya, Deborah Kay Jones.

You guys used to be better at manufacturing scandals. You've never been able to inflate the Benghazi balloon even though you certainly have a reliable source of hot air in Darrell Issa. The fundamental problem probably isn't that there is no underlying reality—that didn't stop you in inventing Whitewater. Thing is, there isn't any sex involved and that's fatal. Throwing yet another committee meeting is just throwing good money after bad.

Please don’t waste your time and energy on Jim Harrishmuck a.k.a. Jim Hitlerson. He has venomous opinions on every topic, even ones he knows nothing about. He is simply too ignorant to understand how ignorant he is. However, he thinks he knows everything about everything and thinks he has the solution to all of the world’s problems. The guy is what Thomas Sowell might call a self-anointed messiah. He believes that civilized and successful people and countries are intrinsically evil and he has a vicious hatred of Jews and of Israel. His posts are often incoherent ramblings. He evades questions, he tells outright lies and he throws tantrums. Please don’t waste your time and energy on this immature, malignant, narcissistic, attention-starved, anti-Semitic demagogue.

I think that you need to explain carefully just what you mean by this paste...."that didn't stop you in inventing Whitewater."

That bit of catty-snark simply can't be permitted to slither past us.

Not to be TOO cynical, but aren't we waiting for Godot with respect to the Contempt citation against Holder? With all due respect, just what has THAT done? I think nothing. Now we have all these bells and whistles, and lots of PR, yet when all the news is out, what will be different? Nothing. I think that even if we had pictures of Obama going to a strip bar after getting a briefing on Bengazi, it would be meaningless. WE have no one in authority who is outraged, we have no one in the media doing investigative work, and we have no one directly confronting the White House's Al Capone when they can. reference: yesterday's "press conference". When the liar in chief claimed that he was unaware of any such position, it was reminiscent of Hillary's "I don't recall". No one challenged him and no one made the evidence that as president, it was his JOB to know. What a sham, and what a sad group of "statesmen". Patrick Henry would have gone back England if he had seen this group of losers in action.

I think you may be too generous. ObamaRx could rape a nun at high noon on the White House lawn and the lickspittle Lamestream Media would just yawn. Same for most of his supporters.
