The Obama government is now knowingly arming an Islamist government. The United States is going ahead with gifting Egypt with new F-16 fighters and Abrams tanks. The first four F-16s departed for the next Middle Eastern war this morning.
A source who works on the Naval Air Force Base in Dallas confirmed the departure of the state-of-the-art fighter planes to FoxNews.com. Sixteen F-16s and 200 Abrams tanks are to be given to the Egyptian government before the end of the year under a foreign aid deal signed in 2010 with then-Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, a longtime U.S. ally..
Critics, including several in Congress, say it doesn’t make sense to follow through with the package, given that new Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, elected last summer, has given decidedly mixed signals about relations with the U.S. While he has toned down his rhetoric since his election, in 2010 – the same year the aid package was struck – Morsi attacked Obama for supporting Israel.
“One American president after another — and most recently, that Obama — talks about American guarantees for the safety of the Zionists in Palestine,” Morsi, then a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, said on Egyptian television in reaction to Obama’s 2009 speech in Cairo. “[Obama] was very clear when he uttered his empty words on the land of Egypt. He uttered many lies, of which he couldn’t have fulfilled a single word, even if he were sincere — which he is not.”
Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood has proceeded to remake Egypt into an Islamist state at a blistering pace. Egypt now has a new constitution that enshrines sharia as the basis of its law. Morsi is blaming the French, and by extension the US, for the al Qaeda uprising and terrorist attacks in Mali.
Morsi is not on America’s side. He has called Jews “pigs” and “bloodsuckers” and said that negotiating with Israel at all is a waste of time, implying that a military confrontation to eradicate Israel is inevitable.
Yet Obama is determined to arm him.

F-15s? Apparently not.
Yeah, my mistake. Should’ve been F-16s.
This is a clever thing. We are giving them weapons they can never use, precisely because WE are giving them to Egypt.
With an army equipped with weaponry from China and Russia, together with the risk of encouraging Egypt to devote part of their energies to developing their own weapons, Egypt would have a free hand.
During a time of war, if an army cannot be refitted, make good its losses, it is worthless. America will not refit an Egyptian army if it being a bad boy. We have the car keys.
You are assuming that the Obama administration would support Israel in a war with Egypt.
I’m not certain of that assumption.
If Egypt is truly run by The Faithful [and who are we to wonder if Shariah is in process there ?] then there are always options to maintenance, repair and supply for any weapons system.
China hacked LockMart’s Supplier Internet connections and was eavesdropping in real time to ongoing, online conferences. Who is to say what is ‘commonly-held knowlege’ regarding F-16′s? Venzuela has ‘A’ models and Turkey has A’s and B’s. Ditto Jordan and these were/are recently updated, by US. What of Qatar, and their planes?
General Dynamics had/has[?] an assembly line in Egypt, specifically to put-together Abrams Tanks. Was it ever pulled apart and rendered useless? What of The Tooling involved? In someone’s basement?
Is it beyond the realm of possiblity that China or Russia could reverse-engineer the Chobham Armor in these vehicles? Who’s got the rare earths needed?
Who has the ability to copy?
They can alwys use up what they were handed and ‘get more stuff’. China gives away Fighters to Pakistan, and would again, to anyone in a heartbeat if it benefitted them, long-term.
More jets and tanks to follow and we are also sending drones to the Afghans.

Is Obama worse than Carter? In this case, apparently so. Recall that the US under Carter agreed to sell a batch of F-16s (then still quite new) to Iran, still ruled by the Shah. Before they were delivered, the Shah was overthrown, replaced by Komeini and his Islamic Revolution. The US cancelled the sale and sold those planes (which for budgetary reasons the USAF couldn’t procure) to Israel. At least Carter wasn’t so foolish as to insist on supplying those planes as part of some attempt at “outreach”.
