John Nolte picked up on a column written by John Dickerson, in the amateur e-zine known as Slate. Dickerson calls on President Obama to use his Second Inaugural address to do what he has already been doing since his re-election, namely, to declare war on the GOP. Dickerson uses such eliminationist rhetoric as “go for the throat” to get Obama’s blood up and get going on “transforming” the country. Obama has spent just about every minute since his re-election trying to destroy the GOP. John Dickerson is a lickspittle hanger-on fanboy.
Dickerson’s column wouldn’t be all that remarkable for Slate. That site is full of leftists and pretend intellectuals. But it is remarkable for another reason. Dickerson is CBS News’ political director.
This marks twice in a week that CBS “journalists” have basically declared war on the Republican Party and on the Second Amendment. Bob Schieffer declared earlier in the week that beating the NRA should be easier than beating the Nazis. Tom Brokaw must have been jealous. He tried joining the media’s war on the NRA as well.
The Second Amendment is a civil right, enshrined in the Constitution. Its position behind the First Amendment, which CBS is using to launch its attacks, serves as a bulwark shoring up the rights of free speech, religion and assembly. It’s not something to trifle with or declare war on.
CBS News should distance itself from Dickerson and Schieffer, maybe fire them if it wants to maintain a shred of its credibility. So, of course, watch for CBS News to fire Sharyl Attkisson, the one reporter who has chased the Fast and Furious story.
Give me entertainment and news. Save the crusading. Or I won’t watch. It’s a business. Someone should tell them this costs them ad revenue. What’s the point?
They can’t help themselves, FB. They think they’re the good guys riding with the Lone Ranger and Tonto. But the Ranger is getting ready to arrest any Feds that start grabbing guns. And Tonto, in case he needs his AR to defend the rez, has built a bunker that commands the valley. His cousin, Jimmy Kills the Enemy, is a former Marine sniper. Jack Shot in Both Sides told me Jimmy has a couple guns that will take down drnes, choppers and armoured Swat wagons. Later he told me it was just a lot of talk, “tall tales and big windies.” I looked all over and didn’t see any sign of a bunker. But, Hey, they’re Injuns. The Lone Ranger turned off his cell. “In the wind,” Tonto said.
What we have in America is a minority in America who have gradually gained ascendent control of news, academia, and entertainment and are now using their ability to sway the opinions of low-information voters to have the government act in ways destructive of the rights of a larger minority (and, let it be said, probably a plurality).
And what we are seeing now is the full-throated beginning stages of something I long expected–that when the only limit to enacting dominance would be that which came from self-restraint, there would be no restraints, but instead it would be whatever the market bore. If the people allow a Salem witch trial, CBS would do it.
What has removed the prior limits and constraints, is that they believe they now have a hard-left President who agrees with them 100% and who has their back.
Believe? They do.
Ass-U-Me-ing CBS News places any value on credibility.
So who watches CBS news other than Democrats/lefties? Also, The Republican Party don’t deserve defense from conservatives. Derision, but not defense. f they won’t defend themselves they deserve the persecution they receive at the hands of the Democrats/lefties.

Crony-capitalism as displayed by US’s Congress and Senate is a “shared experience” by both RNC and DNC.
As such, and their excessively, outrageous salaries simple and completely levels the playing field. HOW? one asks! Simple, they’re all on the same game plan. Is there opposition to anything this administration proposes? NON! Is there willing connivance in both parties? OUI! What about the “smoke-and-mirrors” both parties representatives going on FOXNEWS, CNN, BLOOMBERG et al praising their parties solidarity in opposition… only to (in the stealth of night) do such things as plunge the USA further into the sewer of debt by increasing its debt-limit? HUH???
A feckless leader of the House with a linguini-spine and similiar followers even Paul Ryan, the budget maestro disagreeing before he agreed??? Kabuki theatre of the first order.
Tea Party is the only solution! Fund a GOPAC TeaParty effort. Rid this corrupt “musical chairs,” “round-robin,” charade We The People call a US Congress and Senate. Pray.Amen.
CBS? Does anyone still watch them for news?
As near as I can tell, CBS, NBC, and ABC are required to meet certain minimum performance requirements in order to keep their frequency bands under the Federal rules administered by the FCC.
I’m betting that playing official propaganda organ for the domestic enemies of the Constitution of the United States does not meet those performance goals. I’m betting that their continued assault on the 2nd Ammendment is grounds for yanking their license to broadcast.
Along with doing away with the Hollywood tax breaks, we should thin out the herd of businesses who are allowed to broadcast in the US as long as they support the magic unicorn fart powered left world view. The Evil Eye would be a good start.
I guess that means they will be redoubling their efforts, to put off the day of reckoning when the current crop of new stalinists are turned out.
Funny. Fox News is apparently the propaganda arm of the GOP, but nobody says a thing about CBS News’s political director openly advocating for the Democrat party to “declare war” on half the country. Considering NBC’s political director Chuck Todd has been there for years now, I have to wonder who is the propaganda arm of who.
This country exists because of firearms and the Second Amendment, just as much as it exists because of the freedoms of the First Amendment. You get to say what you want about the government because the government knows we have an armed populace and a volunteer military that will defend the people from tyranny.
You can choose not to own a gun. That’s fine. But keep in mind you and your family have a country to live in because the tens of millions of us who do own guns do so responsibly, and do so for a reason.
