After the heinous shooting in Newtown, CT, it never ceases to amaze me how the political left continues to salivate over the tragedy, and keep the gun control dialogue alive. They must be desperate. After all, the number of gun control mentions in the news decreased dramatically after the holidays. It’s not resonating. However, some in the Democratic Party, like former PA Governor Ed Rendell, still wish to see new gun regulations, before the shiftable sands of public opinion switch on them again. It wasn’t delivered without a tinge of depravity.
On today’s broadcast of MSNBC’s Now with Alex Wagner (Wagner is a former cultural correspondent for the progressive Center for American Process), the former governor said: ”The good thing about Newtown is, it was so horrific that I think it galvanized Americans to a point where the intensity on our side is going to match the intensity on their side.” Matthew Balan at NewsBusters reported that “host Alex Wagner, who called for a repeal of the Second Amendment on Bill Maher’s HBO program in 2011, set up Rendell to make his eyebrow-raising statement (moments after claiming that ‘no one, anywhere’ wants to get rid of that part of the Bill of Rights):
ALEX WAGNER: …Newtown seemed like an inflection point, if you will – a change in the national dialogue about sensible gun laws. And yet, the response that we have seen in recent days from members of the gun-toting – gun-toting enthusiasts and the NRA has been, to say the least, something that has – has dismayed me and very much disappointed me. I wonder what you make of some of that rhetoric.
Well, given that 47% of Americans are gun owners, could this be the Democrats’ 47% moment? While they chastise Republicans as labeling the 47% of Americans who don’t pay federal income taxes as dependents, Democrats seem to have no qualms slamming law-abiding gun owners as “gun-toting.” It’s a sad reality for liberals, but they will have to come to the conclusion that they’ve lost this battle thirteen years ago in 2000.

Progressives always love to mention how a lot of CEO’s could be diagnosed as psychopaths because of their ability/desire to manipulate others without remorse. Why haven’t they done the same study with politicians? It’s obvious from comments like these and how naturally disasters “help” their causes that a lot of Progressive pundits and politicians lack empathy and the ability to relate to others’ emotions.
Studies have been done on the corporate world that show the percentage of psychopaths, narcissists and sociopaths is 4 times greater than in the general population. This tends to be more so the higher one goes in the structure.
Why? Very likely because those kinds are very good at social manipulation and don’t care who they hurt so long as they get ahead. Bureaucratic systems, like those in a big corporation, are the perfect environments for them because they can readily learn to game the system to promote themselves without really having to be good at their official jobs and because their bosses are likely of the same stock, they know best how to manipulate them and it is easy because the narcissist probably won’t realize the praise they is just a clever trap until it is too late.
So, translate this to politics where all one has to do is being a good social manipulator and the only re-election requirement (at least for Democrats and RINOs) is to send home the most pork, it is very easy for their kind to succeed. Therefore, if psychos are at least 4 times as common in corporations where a nod to real work and skill are needed, then it is likely far higher in politics where lying is the only attribute of merit (the staffers do all the real work while the politicians parties).
My recollection is that there are such studies about politicians as well; I distinctly remember a few. Same qualities. ‘Bam, for all that we accuse him of being a “Malignant Narcissist,” is just an extreme version of all the rest.
It is intrinsic to note that the radical left cares as much about the kiddies as hunters do to their prey; rapists to their victims.
There is much proof of the above, and it shall set all Conservative Americans free, free to fight them to the bitter end – http://adinakutnicki.com/2013/01/03/leftists-go-postal-over-gun-control-threatening-to-kill-legal-gun-owners-commentary-by-adina-kutnicki/
And it is so much worse…time to take the nation back.
I’m still amazed at the about-face of the lefties who wanted us to “shrug off” 9/11.
Could it be they’re more interested in oppressing Americans than in defending them?
“Could it be they’re more interested in oppressing Americans than in defending them?”
Kind of hard not to come to that conclusion.
Dance in blood Statists! Dance for me Easy Ed!
In my opinion, 99% of the extended public “mourning” over Newtown is fake. It’s an empty gesture. People do it because it’s expected and because the Media, true to its cultural script, leads them on. Be honest – most of us think it was awful, then we realize it happened to somebody else, far away, and we go about our business. I’m not saying we’re all callous. But we are all realistic. The media feeds us stories of outrage and gore every day. What makes Newtown special?
The Democrats are merely cynical exploiters of tragedy, and Rendell proves it. The only reason it matters to them is that it gives them another chance to push gun control laws. Of course, the NRA and the Republican party aren’t much better. To them, the most important thing about Newtown is…that it gives Democrats another chance to push gun control laws. Both parties know that there was nothing anyone could have done do prevent the massacre.
Sadly, this is how American mourns tragic events like 9/11 and Newtown – not by shedding a tear, but by fighting each other over the corpses. What scum we are sometimes.
The only thing that could make it worse would be Elton John writing a song about it.
Since Newtown is just a weekend in thug infested Chicago, where were all those crocodile tears of public mourning? Especially after 500 murders.
They are not interested in “safety”. One of them, techno, even admitted that these restrictions won’t do a damned thing. It is all about turning the 99% into serfs.
Newtown? Easy! It’s all about GUNS, GUNS, GUNS! Stamp out GUNS, problem solved!
Chicago? It’s about…um…let’s see, poverty? Drugs? Racism? Not enough government programs? Human nature? Not really sure. We’ve tried stamping out a number of things – including GUNS – at least since the late 1950s, but nothing has really worked. People keep killing each other. They kill each other less when the economy is ok, and they kill each other more when the economy is bad, but they always kill each other. Frankly, we’re not sure what to do. So let’s not talk about it…
If those places ban guns, then the militarized SWAT teams should be disbanded and the police should go back to .38 revolvers, pump shotguns and lever action .30-30′s. After all: if guns are illegal, they won’t likely even need that kind of firepower since all guns will magically vanish and never return. As for the politician’s bodyguards, well, they can get by with tasers and billy clubs.
The police departments in towns in southwestern CT have arsenal that you wouldn’t believe. Full auto swat team, armored vehicles, the works. Not sure what they’re expecting but they’re certainly patrolling the schools every day now.
jmarie, they’re obviously protecting the children of Connecticut from the next school shooter, which means the next school shooter will show up in Florida.
Anyone who wasn’t shocked by the Newtown massacre doesn’t have a heart or soul. But this sort of public sentiment is why our Founding Fathers adopted a Bill of Rights: To make certain that the shifting winds of public opinion did not result in our loss of fundamental rights and liberties. With Adam Lanza dead, the public has decided to take its rage out on (evil) GUNS. The Obama Administration, never one to let a crisis (or a tragedy) go to waste, will exploit any opportunity to fulfill its fundamental goals of (1) growing the power and scope of government and (2) reducing individual rights.
Yeah, Adam Lanza id dead..
But what about:
Holmes from the aurora theater?
Jaret Logner from the Tucon shooting?
Kip Kingle (and several others) from pre- Columbine school shootings?
Colin Furgussin, Black Racist who boarded a Long Island train to “shoot white people”?
Mark David Chapman, who shot John Lennon in cold blood?
David Hinkley, who shot Reagan and horribly wounded Brady?
All of these incidents were siezed upon by the Government and the media to raise the “gun control” argument when they occurred, but NO ONE ever asks why these perps are never EXECUTED.
Maybe, just MAYBE…if we executed KNOWN killers (well, hinkley should die cause it was the president)six weeks after their crimes were committed, it would have a deterrent effect on the NEXT asshole looking for his “fame through infamy” moment?
All of these (and dozens more I can find if I had more time) are clear cases of incontrovertable factual knowledge WHO the shooter was. Its not a matter of “caution” in the name of “justice” because The Identity of the “actors” is not in question.
What IS in question, is WHY does the Government spend so much time, money and effort MAKING CERTAIN NONE OF THESE GUYS AND OTHERS LIKE THEM /WILL EVER BE EXECUTED?
And instead, they USE their horrible crimes as excuses to attack the citizenries right to bear arms, while going so soft and easy on the people who ACTUALLY committed them?
I’m not sure you can with with the execution strategy. These people are not rational actors. Because of desperation or mental illness, most of them do not care about the long-term consequences of committing murder. The desperate ones feel they have no future anyway. The important thing is the moment of revenge/relief, not what happens after. The crazy ones…who knows what they feel?
That’s “win with” not “with with.” Sorry – I’m on a diet and it’s affecting my brain. I have lost ten pounds, though.
“I’m not sure you can with with the execution strategy”
Of course we’re “not sure” it will work, because its NEVER BEEN TRIED.
On the flip side, if we DO execute them all, we’ll certainly save a shit-ton of Taxpayers Money on “automatic appeals” and housing and admin costs for these animals.
That alone is reason enough to end the “make work boondoggle sentence them to death but never do it need another Tax payer funded appeal panel charade” the Government always pulls, and frog-march these scumbags to the wood-chipper.
Its not “cruel” if its fast, and its not “unusual” IF YOU DO IT OFTEN ENOUGH.
Well, call me a zombie or something because I am absolutely not shocked in the least. NEWTOWN IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.
It is the world everyone has lived in, that every living thing has lived in, since the beginning of life. We don’t have to accept it passively – our main task as living beings is to survive in it, to help our children survive in it, and to do what we can to make it safer. BUT IT WILL NEVER BE SAFE.
The only way to survive is to be vigilant and ready to protect each other when bad things happen. And bad things ALWAYS happen. People who are surprised and shocked by things like Newtown need to get out more, maybe read some history books.
There was a time when letting your tiniest children out of your sight, sending them away to a place you couldn’t get to easily, putting them in the hands of total strangers, letting them be reared by people you’ve never met, would be considered insane. You wouldn’t know what the strangers were doing to them. And when they came back, would they still be *your* children or somebody else’s?
I hate to sound paranoid, but maybe the old timers were smarter than we thought.
“maybe the old timers were smarter than we thought”
They were, by several orders of magnitude
And they quickly “off-ed” the freakish demon seeds that did evil things..
They didnt CARE what someones “mental state” was when they did them, they knew what evil was and they exterminated it like a rabid dog, pronto…not 25 years down the line (or never) so these monsters (bundy, manson, dahlmer etc.) could develop a fan-base of admirers and emulators
We would be well advised to do the same.
The only thing you’ll “learn” from “studying” the “Mentally Ill” who do these kinds of things, is that YOU are a whole lot softer and more squeamish about violence than THEM.
Execute every School Shooter, Mass Shooter, and “by any means” Multiple Murderer we have in custody right now, today, period, regardless of their “mental state”.
Punish THE GUILTY for a change, and see what happens to crime rates.
When was that time, exactly?
Rendell is one of the rare libwits who sometimes appears rational, so you can imagine what the uber crazies are thinking. PJM’s crazy trolls have been rubbing their hands in glee for weeks. If only there could be more and bigger tragedies.
Liberals are happy because Newtown makes them think that they were right that we needed more gun control.
Conservatives are unhappy because they know that to the average non-political person, it appears that the liberals were right on this issue.
I feel bad for the children who were killed and their families.
“The average, non-political person,” being non-political, doesn’t have any skin in the game. Conservatives don’t care what he or she thinks.
Conservatives are unhappy because liberals are using Newtown as an excuse to abrogate the Second Amendment. That makes us a bit glum because once you scratch out one section of the Bill of Rights it will be that much easier to scratch out another…and another, until all our rights are gone.
RIP, Newtown victims. I’m sure they’re all in heaven right now, giving thanks to Jesus because they’ll never grow up to share the earth with politicians.
It was about their blood. Their blood is seen by our leaders as having power beyond the grave as political capital, much like that of the Mexican mass killings of Fast and Furious. Accidental events or planned massacres, both can be used. In this case, the Mexican blood became tainted by the plan being exposed. So they waited with bated breath for fresh blood.
It’s just a bizarre political ritual to make sure Americans and eventually everyone loses their freedom to be secure and free and lives under total control. That’s just how our leaders want it and they don’t really care what you think:
Our funeral pyre awaits the corpse of Care.
Oh thou, thus ferried ‘cross the shadowy tide
In all the ancient majesty of death
Dull Care, arch-enemy of Beauty; not for thee
The tender tribute and the restful grave,
But fire shall have its will of thee
And all the winds make merry with thy dust!
If they’re willing to say this on air, just imagine the hidden camera/hot mic moments we’re missing. Behind the scenes they’re probably yuccking it up and high-fiving each other and bragging about how they’re about to pull one over on the American people. I honestly think that the first emotion felt by the gun banners on hearing of this tragedy was not one of sorrow, but one of elation, a chance to push their agenda.
And do you want to know why “this one is different?” It’s not because it’s so much more horrific, it’s because it was the first one to happen after Obama’s re-election. The reason the last several mass shootings were played down is because the media didn’t want to put their messiah in a bind over gun control that could very well cost him re-election. They played it down, saving it all for a time when they knew he could act without restraint. Well, this is that time. The only thing different about the current situation is that Obama no longer needs any political cover and he’s ready to let the monster show, the media’s hoping and praying for this and doing their absolute best to make it happen.
didn’t the Newtown people restrict media access to the town after a couple of weeks because they were getting tired of the media blitz? i felt bad for the people who died but it was in my face every day, i got tired of it after a week. it was a story about gun control with the background of 27 people murdered.
“It was a story about gun control with the background of 27 people murdered.”
EXACTLY! Thank you for that!
He’s just reciting the old Leninist line, “The worse, the better”. He’s found a crisis which mustn’t be wasted in his and his party’s rush to obtain unchecked power over others, the Constitution be damned.

Gabby Giffords shooting – Never hear a word about Judge Roll, the actual target
who is DEAD. He was going to be Judge in a big scandel.
The Joker shooters’ Dad – Financial genius, was going to testify in Libor scandel. Kid shot nobody. Hitman did.
Newtown – Also VERY FISHY – Lot of bad ACTORS involved. Tons of Misinformation,
etc. just for the gun grab – expect more, they know most Americans are too stupid to see through it.
Osama bin Laden – What did they shoot, his ten year old corpse ?
There’s all kinds of Kibuki going on under the LYING KING.
I was listening to Mark Belling on his talk show in Milwaukee today. There is a gun show at a local suburb today. According to some callers, there were long waiting lines to get into the gun show and at a local Gander Mountain there was a 45 min. wait to get into the firearms section. Sounds like all this gun banning talk is encouraging a lot of gun sales. Is that what the advocates are all about. More gun sales is actually good for the economy.
What more could you ask for?
Made to order “HORROR & TERRORISM”.
One has to keep in mind that ” fast eddy” Rendell is/was the machine boss of the Philadelphia democrat party. As mayor he allied himself with the union thugs who run the city, the usual Irish Mafia suspects, Brady, Dougherty, etc. These thugs routinely committed violence on anyone who did not support their union demands; people were viciously beaten and killed. The Rendell and his regime looked the other way; the Philadelphia police are controlled by the union thugs and absolutely refuse to do anything. In the late 1990s an anti Clinton demonstrator was vicioulsy attacked in front of Rendell’s city hall by a mob of teamster thugs; the man was beaten very badly, the police stood around and did nothing; later the city tried to prosecute the victim. This is the world that Rendell supports so anytime he speaks against violence etc; it is a big big lie since his whole political existence has been built on enabling the worse kind of mob violence possible. But then again he is a democrat; America’s version of the infamous brown shirts of long ago.
I have a good idea. All the anti-gunners-Rendell, Bloomberg, Biden, Obama asministration etc, they have their anti-gun laws granted for their security and body guards. How about fake guns and rubber bullets for their protection. It’s alright for them to be protected but not the rest of us who can’t afford body guards? I forgot their lives are more valuable then the rest of us.
