The 14-year-old girl was Sarah Palin’s daughter, so it’s mostly good.
Letterman said the only reason he apologized to Sarah Palin after he was roundly criticized for making a sex joke on “Late Night” about Willow, then 14, was so that he could continue to make jokes about the former Vice Presidential candidate.
“I felt like Sarah Palin was somebody I wanted to be able to continue to make fun of,” he said. “And I felt like if I don’t apologize … I will not be able to go forward [with that].”
Letterman did claim genuine remorse for any pain and embarrassment he may have caused the young teen, explaining he thought he was making a sex joke about about Bristol, who was older. “Nice going, you got the wrong daughter,” he said, saying it was “stupid joke that fell into dumb luck and got worse.”
Here’s the original joke. The daughter at the game was Willow Palin, who was 14 years old at the time. Letter admits to Oprah that he only apologized for that joke so he could keep on mocking Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin’s crime was being a successful governor who was briefly a threat to Barack Obama. Willow Palin’s crime was being Sarah Palin’s daughter. David Letterman is and will always be a creep.
What can you say. It’s a shallow culture. I personally wouldn’t fight for it or dacrifice for it as is, as a complete whole. I might fight to preserve the chance that the ideal, the essence of the thing that was, might survive, I might fight for those who wish to be better than themselves and are adrift in a sea of shallowness, I might fight for that young man hundreds of years in the future so that he might have the society he lives in–but this one we live in today? I’d have to think very hard about sacrificing much of anything so that David Letterman can destroy anyone he sees fit with impunity.
David Letterman used to have to wait until close to 2am to go on at The Comedy Store, years ago because he pretty well stunk. One thing became obvious though. He had some wealthy looking, and one would suspect, Leftist, “handlers” in his corner. He got hair and writers and the rest is history. He’s the organ grinder’s monkey.

The late Mike Royko wrote that he wanted to move to Norway because he couldn’t take living in a country where David Letterman was considered funny. Considering who won the Nobel Peace Prize four years ago, Norway can be very funny.
Used to love Letterman, before his Liberal politics seeped into his show, that and his penchant for porking his interns while married to his sons mother.

He used to make fun of Oprah (remember “Uma/Oprah” ?)and then he made his well-publicized ‘walk down the street’ and they ‘commiserated’ ,so all was then well.
Now, he goes on Oprah to once again, apologize/issue Mea Culpas.
Is she his closet head-doctor? Is Oprah practizin’ ‘Shrinkology’ without a license?
Convene a House Sub-Committee. We ‘needs’ to look into this situation, pronto……
