Does one have to be an idiot to work in the mainstream media, or does it merely make one promotable to the corner office? Some have been in a fit because Los Angeles’ guy buyback program turned up a pair of “anti-tank rocket launchers.”
Los Angeles officials declared victory yesterday, after their gun buyback program managed to pull in 2,037 guns, including 75 assault weapons and two anti-tank rocket launchers, the LA Times reports. Yes, you read that correctly. Residents turned in the weapons for grocery store gift cards, no questions asked.
That’s just crazy! You know what’s crazier? You can buy that stuff online. Here’s a page selling some. Here’s more. And try not to faint, but here’s a military rocket. And a rocket-propelled grenade. It’s crazy, just any old person can buy those things. Scary, right?
The word that appears on all of those pages — inert — means quite a bit. Let’s see if anyone in the media looks it up.

But rocket launchers? We used to make them. PVC pipe. But discard if there’s a misfire, can’t trust structural integrity at that point.

Actually it speaks to the utter stupidity of gun control. The danged laws couldn’t even stop people from buying rocket launchers.
I think you missed the important point that these items were INERT. In other words, they look like rocket launchers, but aren’t.

They knew they were inert the police would have told them that, but that part didn’t fit the narrative so they left it out of the story of course.
According to the police chief, those are weapons of war and made to fire missiles and have no place in the city.
Hate to say it, but the rocket isn’t. It is a training perpetrator for a tank cannon. It is not designed or meant to be a rocket any more that the bullet that comes out of a firearm is.
INERT. Is probably a military training aid, or empty rocket tube. You can find them they are out there. Teaches soldiers how to arm and fire these weapons without any risk to your conference room or motor pool. Had a stinger missle training aid hanging on the wall in Germany.
I just hope whoever had those tubes made a nice profit on them off this buyback. They could put the profit towards buying a an actual weapon.
On the other hand, the people who traded in “assault weapons” may have gotten screwed on the $200 buyback price.
What can you do with an expended rocket launcher tube? Cut it in half lengthwise, cap the ends, fill it with gravel and potting soil and plant geraniums.
Yeah, put an Estes model rocket in those badboys and you’ll be packing some firepower. I recommend at least a B motor, no parachute ejection charge.
In the end, that’s what will save us all. We’ve got more crap in garages, sheds and basements than all of the people in all the nations of Southwest Asia combined…and Americans average about 100 on an IQ test. So, on average, we’re smarter, better educated and better trained than the folks our government has gotten used to fighting…and we’ve got more stuff to play with.
When TSHTF, we’re gonna be a bit more creatively destructive than America’s most recent opponents…and we already have the stuff on hand to do it with, too.
Add all of that to three hundred million weapons in the hands of private gunowners, along with billions of rounds for those guns, and all we need are enough warm bodies to make a difference. (approx 3% of the population directly and actively involved w/approx 30% – 35% actively supporting the first 3% – and freedom lovin’ folls win. No counter-insurgency in history has ever succeeded against those numbers.)
Yes. I firmly believe that it’s only a matter of time until our government tries something unbelievably stupid. Something that it simply cannot win. It’s not a matter of outcomes. It’s just a matter of details and timing. …and how high the body count gets…

“Assault weapons”? Unless there’s a smuggling operation inside the military, these are more of those “scary looking” guns that Dianne Feinstein doesn’t want you to own.
don’t forget scary looking = dangerous … so just like an “assault weapon” these inert items are dangerous …
Of note, the first like selling the inert weapons had a big banner ad at the top selling HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES … and I don’t mean Vogue or Cosmo ..

The rocket launchers shown on TV have a yellow band around them. This denotes a training weapon, meant for handling and instructional purposes ONLY! Is most likely a classroom aid. Secondly, this type weaponry, with restricted use labeled on it, never had nor was it able to load, fire or be deployed as any front line assault type formation in any way, shape or form. It’s merely a piece of metal with a specific design…period!
For any police force hauling out a useless piece of weaponry, claiming it is (or was) operational when it clearly isn’t (or wasn’t) is just a smear on that police departments credibility. Fooling America, will never rise to truth and consequences a Cloward-Piven agenda riddled propaganda machine spews over all Americans…see, the truth will “out” and when it does, the police department stating lies will just end up with a bunch of egg-on-their-faces!!!So much for Truth and Honesty among “America’s Finest!!” Pray. As soon as I saw that article on the news I thought there would be something more to it. It is amazing that the media lie and distort anything for their cause.
