The Senate may pass a law basically giving law enforcement no need to get a search warrant to read emails (this is probably somewhat an oversimlified explanation, but accurate enough in the merits).
What I could easily see is a coordination campaign between Juicebox Mafia types and fellow travellers in law enforcement, especially as I have strong doubts about the integrity of the overwhelmingly liberal IT world. A scandal in this area would be legitimate grounds, esp. as I think “intel” might be being performed already by those who value politics over rules. I always remember the way the Huffington Post was able to track down the “Hillary 1984″ guy, which I have difficulty not believing was accomplished via an insider at YouTube just looking up the poster’s information.
Law enforcement need to get a search warrant for emails they wish to read, and that is all there is to it. Storing email is the same as a storing goods in a storage shed, one in this case virtually attached to my property. It is not garbage lying out on the street, free for all to see.
As I said, this is legitimate grounds, and proof once again we have the worst legislative cadre ever.
One of the worst, ever, that is. Sorry for the hyperbole.
