Bill Clinton: US Military was Racist, Sexist and Homophobic -- Until Obama Fixed It

Campaigning for Barack Obama in Virginia Sunday, former President Bill Clinton let his loathing for the military slip through.

“One of the things the decider-in-chief has to do is decide whether he’s going to bring this country together across all its diversity or let it drift apart,” Clinton said. “Look at how much stronger the American military is because it is less racist, less sexist and less homophobic and we’re just looking for people who can do the job.”

Is the military really stronger now than it was four years ago? That is a real question after the events in Benghazi on 9-11, and will be a growing question the closer we get to the harsh sequestration cuts that President Obama proffered and signed into law. Obama’s own defense secretary has argued that the cuts to come will gravely harm the US military’s readiness. President Obama has already downgraded US capability from the standard of being able to win two simultaneous wars, to just one.

But Bill Clinton called the US military three bad things — racist, sexist and homophobic. What does the current commander-in-chief have to say about that?
