Earlier today, previously uncommitted voter and billionaire businessman H. Ross Perot announced that he is supporting Mitt Romney’s run for the presidency.
It is for these reasons that I am endorsing Mitt Romney. He has spent most of his career in the private sector. He understands how jobs are created. He understands how government can get in the way of that process. As a president, he would do what this administration has been unable to do, which is reform our federal government, pare it back, and — most critically — keep it from acting as a brake on economic growth.
Equally important, as a governor, Mitt Romney balanced the budget of his state for four straight years without raising taxes. Writing in all caps is called shouting, and that fact is something that deserves to be shouted from the rooftops. I should add that Gov. Romney accomplished this feat while working with a legislature that was overwhelmingly under the control of the Democratic Party in one of the most liberal states in the country. In short, although he is a rock-solid conservative, he knows how to reach across the aisle and make common cause with those with whom he disagrees.
These are leadership qualities that are sorely needed in Washington today. President Obama promised a great deal. He has had his chance. The results are visible for all to see. It is time for a new beginning. It is time for Mitt Romney.
But what does a successful businessman know? Yesterday I wasted a good hour arguing with liberals on twitter because the founder of Jimmy John’s sandwich restaurants said that ObamaCare would cause either a $.50 price hike per sandwich (which is about 10% of the price) or staff layoffs. One argued that if Jimmy John’s couldn’t absorb the costs of ObamaCare without having to raise prices or lay staff off, they’re “doing it wrong.” Great non-argument!
Well, while liberals ignore the plain warnings of actual businessmen, they tout celebrity endorsements for their side and last night they snared an important one.
Last night on Jimmy Kimmel‘s late-night ABC talk show, President Barack Obamagot the celebrity endorsement of a lifetime.
The words of praise came from Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, the 7-year-old hyperactive star of TLC’s popular reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

During her interview on the late-night program, Kimmel told her that GOP candidate Mitt Romney (whom Ms. Boo Boo hasn’t heard of) said he prefers Jersey Shore star Snooki over Honey Boo Boo Child Whatever Thingamajig.
This did not sit well with the feisty reality star, who then flatly said “Barack Obama” when asked who she will “support” in this upcoming election. The crowd wildly applauded.
Of course they did.
