We can just turn this one over to Jake Tapper:
Asked about the Fast and Furious program at the Univision forum on Thursday, President Obama falsely claimed that the program began under President George W. Bush.
“I think it’s important for us to understand that the Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration,” the president said. “When Eric Holder found out about it, he discontinued it. We assigned a inspector general to do a thorough report that was just issued, confirming that in fact Eric Holder did not know about this, that he took prompt action and the people who did initiate this were held accountable.”
In actuality, the Fast and Furious program was started in October 2009, nine months into the Obama presidency.
Previous programs involving ATF agents allowing guns to “walk” across the border so as to trace them were run during the Bush presidency, but not this particular “field-initiated program.”

“Si vis pacem, para bellum”
So, how do you explain that the money for the thousands of rifles came from the Stimulus Bill, then? What? Bush did it? Really? Let’s try that again. How the heck did they get the money, if you didn’t give it to them? Whence came the money, Mr. President?!?
The answer is simple: Time Travel. (You know: Bush is a Skull & Bones man, Illuminati, Mason, shape-shifting reptilian from Zeta-Reticuli. Time Travel is no sweat for him.)
Now now — I explained this a while ago: http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/09/22/an-explanation/
Bush was actually president until after Thanksgiving 2009.
Hey, Bush hopped onto one of those super duper super secret SR-71 Blackbird spyplanes that NASA souped up. It’s so fast it is capable of time travel, don’tcha know!
There’s a funding line for F&F in the PPACA Act!
Wait a minute – lemme guess, other than Tapper’s piece, NO ONE ELSE called Obie out on his lie, right?
No, actually the MSM has been relatively good on this one. It got three pinocchios, which is the same as four for Romney:

It was a totally different program. Operation Wide Receiver (the Bush program) was coordinated with the Mexican government. Fast and Furious was completely unknown to the Mexican government. Wide Receiver attached tracking devices to the guns and the program was discontinued immediately after some guns were lost. Fast and Furious never attached a single tracking device to the guns, proving there was no intent to track them in the first place.
Obama’s statement is a blatant lie. Where are the supposed fact checkers on this?
Ummmm… er… WAAAAAAACIST!
Pus, Big Bird, you h8ter!
Not only that, Fast and Furious wasn’t even revealed to the ATF’s lead official in Mexico, Darren Gil. He had no idea why so many guns were suddenly turning up, and he was eventually told to quit asking questions (quit requesting traces on the guns).
p.s., why do I keep getting an error message saying I’m posting messages too quickly? This is my first comment of the day.
Barry Obama, the Original Muslim Brotha ‘Hood…
The previous program had the cooperation of the Mexican government and was ended in part at its behest as a failure. Fast and Furious was secret, and thus was an act of war against Mexico. The fact that a previous gun walking program had been tried and failed more or less proves that Fast and Furious was not mere stupidity, but had some other motive.
“I think it’s important for us to understand that the Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration,”
I am so relieved to here you say that mr president. Since we now have you on the record claiming no involvement whatsoever, I am sure that we will see you withdraw your assertion of executive privilege in these matters effective immediately. Won’t we mr president? Wouldn’t your continuing assertion of executive privilege be one of the most cynical uses of that privilege in the history of the presidency?
Fast and Furious is a failed program that killed dozens, possibly hundreds, of citizens of Mexico, and also probably several American citizens.
The Big Bird made up controversy is just a shiny object used to distract attention from real issues until November 7.
Guess which one led the nightly news?
Will President Pro Tem Obama’s lies never end?
