Before I started trying to catalog the various Romney Rumors — to which I’m now adding Obama Myths starting today — I pointed out something odd I’d noticed: that Obama’s term in office had started peculiarly late. At least, it seemed that all 2009 spending had been signed by Bush (although the budget was signed in March 2009 and the Stimulus was signed in February), and Fast and Furious, started in late October 2009 was supposed to have started under Bush.
We learned today that according to Nancy Pelosi, assignment of diplomatic security in Benghazi, which is done by the State Department, was also weak because the Republicans did it.
So I thought we should crowd-source this a little bit: in the comments, please link me examples of the Democrats saying that something actually happened during the Bush Administration or under Republican control of the Executive functions.
As a matter of fact, I believe Obama took longer to fill his cabinet than any President in the last 100 years or so. (Mainly due to the repeated withdrawals of his nominees for HHS, but there were other long vacancies.)
So in that sense, the Obama Administration “began late”.
It’s all answered by the MSM theory of time relativity. The greater that an outcome of something comes toward actually hurting a Democrat, the time which that Democrat could have been considered reasonably responsible for that outcome contracts.
Not to be confused with MSM general relativity, which says a Democrats lack of gravitas will still be viewed as bending space and time.
Also not to be confused with the various corollaries of Newton’s Laws:
First Law:
The “Fair Share” Corallary:
An object at rest will be subsidized. An object in motion will be taxed at 50%, until it comes to rest. Then it will be subsidized.
The “Investment” Corallary:
An object at rest, or moving on the wrong line, will continue to do so as long as it is operated on by an outside governmental force.
Second Law:
Smith/Hayek Corallary:
The change in momentum is inversely proportional to the “dead hand” of government on it.
3rd Law:
The “Benghazi” Corallary.
Every action generates a strongly worded letter of protest from the junior-level charge-d’-affairs.
The “Republican Establishment”Corallary
Every action generates nothing.
The “Dirty Harry” Corallary
Every action should generate an overwhelming reaction, so we don’t go through it again.

Here’s one that leaps to mind: Obama claims that Operation Fast and Furious began under the Bush administration. Jake Tapper on the case.
He’s actually a democratic operative with a byline, but Chris Matthews claimed unemployment was 10% when Obama came into office.

I realize that Chris was just blurting out his usual fact-free nonsense and no one who’s not both insane and ignorant would back him up.
But it fits the bleg, I think.
Here’s one where Obama admin moves the goalposts forward not back.
The auto bailout loans were negotiated and made
during the Bush admin, but the Obama admin never shares the credit.
That’s kind of a yes and no. The Bush Administration negotiated bridging loans to prevent a default. The Obama Administration negotiated the bankruptcy and provided, in effect, debtor-in-possession financing.
“jobs added” start from the employment low point, not the inauguration.
the administration get 100% credit for the payback of TARP funds.
stock market gains start from the low point, 20% lower than inauguration day.
workers who quit looking are disappeared from the government data.
1 trillion in annual new federal spending is added to gdp, which boosts gdp by about 6 to 7%, even though it is ALL borrowed or printed money. Without that, GDP would be seriously negative for every quarter since the spending began (and also for many quarters in arrears, but not nearly to the extent as it has been under the Liar). The “recovery” would be about -5%, even now, without the magic gubamint spendorama.
