Something has been puzzling me for a very long time, it seems.
First, we had the announcement that Obama had presided over the smallest increase in spending of any President since Eisenhower. When closely examined, we find that this is only true if all spending in 2009 is attributed to George Bush.
Earlier this week, President Obama insisted “Fast and Furious” started under President Bush. “Fast and Furious” started with a DoJ teleconference on October 29, 2009.
On Friday, Chris Matthews (on Bill Maher HBO show) said “Unemployment was well past 10 percent” when Obama took office; it turns out that unemployment only reached 10 percent once, in October 2009. (And it’s not been “well past 10 percent” since 1982-83.)
I think the evidence is accumulating: Barack Obama didn’t actually take office until sometime around Thanksgiving 2009.

Or, if Obambus is half white, that white half *is* George Bush.
End the Bush Administration! Vote for Romney.
Darn, Charlie. You must be right. I can’t think of any other explanation,
Interestingly, he was also responsible for the iraq Liberation Act in 1998.
It’s worse than you think. George Bush is controlling Obama RIGHT now. To stop it, Obama shall have to wear a tinfoil hat. I recommend this for the debates O:)
I like it. Some photoshop artist has got to do that…
I”ll forward the idea to my buddy Jared McAnderson at the Looking Spoon.
It’s Democrats hoping for a bizarro-world version of Einsteinian time relativity–as the ability to pay down the debt recedes from us at the speed of light, memories of how we got here get shorter.
Even if you put TARP on Bush’s watch, it got paid back, which leaves Bush squarely in the approx. $350B deficit neighborhood. Obama quadrupled the deficit. Yes? Correct me if I’m wrong.
I believe you’re right. And if you look at the paybacks, they actually reduced Obama’s imputed deficit in 2009-2010.
I will also say this–in my boot camp, the company recruit officers (of which I was one) found it harder and harder to keep our fellow recruits perfectly in line as we went on, because the guys reached a limit on how much discipline they would take on board (we weren’t martinets or anything–the guys just would only generate so much self-discipline on their own, and we were very close to being a “color company” and throwing away points on penny-ante stuff). The temptation to just lie to them in orer to keep them on line became very strong, because we were doing it “in their best interests”. I resisted, but it was a temptation.
We did get color company, but honestly because we got pushed over the line by our company commanders. Not because the guys themselves made it happen from an inner drive.
But the key thing is that I know exactly what it looks like when a group decides they know better and are just going to start lying, because in their minds they have a herd/mob to look out for, despite the self-defeating efforts and attitudes of the herd. So, they just start lying.
Welcome to post-modern America, where reality is what you want it to be.
