Regarding the left–I truly believe the attitude over on that side has changed to “stop us if you can.”
Well, you can. You just have to unite to do so. And you might have to think of more traditional ways of doing it, but you can in fact stand quite athwart “history” and stop it. Anytime you actually decide to do it, united, and stop outsourcing the issue to political hacks in the Republican party.
Here’s some things you might want to start thinking about:
Being polite and well-behaved at protests buys you nothing. Colbert and Stewart will still mock you (Colbert obliquely), and Colbert will be rewarded with NASA naming hardware after him. So–in a polite, well-behaved manner, stop obeying the laws. Occupy Wall Street? Then start Occupy ABC. See how quickly they move to disperse you then. (PDQ is my guess)
Along those lines–go look at what the French unions do. You need to do it more politely, with no violence–but you might want to start thinking of just blocking roads. See how quickly they send in the police. (PDQ is my guess).
Eventually–we just need to not send in income tax forms. But that will require a mass action, and we must be united first.
But overall, you folks can stop the runaway liberal train. I just am not sure you can do it through political elections–or at least not by elections alone.
