David Corn thinks he has struck again, releasing another super double sekret video in which Mitt Romney says more or less mainstream things he’s likely to say with the entire world watching.
In this episode of Get Mitt!, Gov. Romney says the Palestinians aren’t interested in peace with Israel. Please, if you’re going to faint, try not to fall on sharp objects.
Feel free to fall on David Corn, who is not sharp.
Romney spoke of “the Palestinians” as a united bloc of one mindset, and he said: “I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say there’s just no way.”
Romney was indicating he did not believe in the peace process and, as president, would aim to postpone significant action: “[S]o what you do is, you say, you move things along the best way you can. You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem…and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it.”
You want to know the biggest clue as to what the Palestinians want?
They elected Hamas to run their government.
You know, the terrorist group. Hamas. The group whose charter still calls for the total destruction of Israel.
Granted, the Palestinians’ choices were Terrorist Group A and Terrorist Group B, but the one they elected was the more violent of the two.
That’s kind of a big freaking clue that they are not interested in peace.
Here’s another big freaking clue as to what the Palestinian want. Take a look at what they’re teaching their kids.
When the little kid says “We are defending Al-Aqsa with our souls and our blood,” Al-Aqsa being the big gold mosque in the heart of Jerusalem, that’s a pretty big clue that peace is not being given a chance.
That’s from 2007. It’s a ripped off Mickey Mouse being used to teach kids to think like a terrorist. There’s more like it, a whole lot more. MEMRI has done an incredible service in finding and broadcasting clips like this one.
They all constitute a pretty goshdarn big clue that, broadly speaking, the Palestinians are not interested in peace.
If they were, they would nott be teaching their kids that martyrdom should be their highest life goal.
Mitt Romney gets that. Barack Obama does not.
Any questions?

Just one. Can we stop this fool and his clown posse without resorting to Rule .308?
Rule .308; No mercy asked, none given
In David Corn’s “world”, Romney’s statement is some kind of crackpot delusion on a par with saying “the earth is flat”, “gravity makes stuff fall up” or “Barack Obama is an idiot.” In the real world, it’s merely a sign that Romney has a firm grasp of the obvious.
Not sure — but I think based on the Oslo Accords, Palestinians are forbidden to teach their kids to hate. But who says you have to live up to anything you agree to?
David seems not only to believe that Mitt’s gimlet-eyed view of the Palestinians is wrong, he also appears to think it’s very unpopular. I think this video actually helps Mitt with two groups: (a) pro-Zion Jews who know that Barack doesn’t care about Israel and are therefore considering crossing over and voting for a Republican, perhaps for the first time in their lives; and (b) pro-Zion Evangelicals who regard Barack as a horror but lack real motivation to volunteer for Romney and donate to him.
