I would have suspected this to be an Onion parody but they already scored with their story on the newest Obama ad: “Romney Murdered Jon Benet Ramsey.”
And calling it mudslinging does a huge disservice to mud.
The American Sunrise PAC has launched its first attack ad against Congressman Allen West. The political action committee was founded by the father of Congressman West’s general election opponent Democrat Patrick Murphy.
Thomas Murphy Jr. is the CEO of a Miami-based Coastal Construction Group, and he has already kicked in $250,000(Source) into the PAC. But now those funds have been employed in the creation of a questionable ad that depicts West as a boxer who smacks around women and takes money away from middle class families.
The ad slyly uses a caricature of West and portrays him as a bully who hits women- more specifically, a white women- while he grabs money away from a “middle class” family that just happens to be a black family.

Is it my imagination or are ads a lot slimier than they have been in the past? When they test these ads before releasing them, they must see something in the response that encourages them to continue, otherwise they wouldn’t spend the money making them or making buys to run them.
They wouldn’t run them if they didn’t work.
Perhaps it’s because we’re now in an age where Americans are capable of believing the absolute worst of their opponent that these low blow ads resonate. He’s disloyal, he wants to enrich himself and his cronies, he’s a heartless monster, he’s a scheming Machiavelli, he wants to destroy us so that he can dominate us — we believe this crap about the other guy so why shouldn’t political ads reflect that?
“Novus ordo seculorum.”

“Is it my imagination or are ads a lot slimier than they have been in the past?”
I remember watching talking heads back to the Carter vs. Ford days. Every four years they’d pronounce “this is the dirtiest campaign every” and I’d yawn, because I’d seen it before. However, this year does top it. The fascist-democrats are putting together a campaign the likes of which you’d probably need to go to 1860 to see such slime. The fascist-democrats (which is at least what they are, if not outright communists) are putting out slanderous, racist ads, and it’s only August. What comes next?
Right out of the Saul Alinsky playbook. We had a name for these slimeballs when I was growing up in the 50′s. The initials are RBC.
“Is it my imagination or are ads a lot slimier than they have been in the past?”
1800? 1824? 1828? 1864? (Okay, that was during a civil war) 1948? (Truman ran a very dirty campaign.)1964? (“Daisy”) I’m sure there are others.
American politics have always been rough-and-tumble mudslinging affairs; the only question has been to what degree. I’ll agree that the ads coming from the Chicago thugs are pretty disgusting and worse than many election years, but that’s because the Left knows almost no restraint; in the quest for power, anything is permissible.
And I don’t think we’ve hit bottom yet, this year.
The good old KKK democrats are coming back !
Like they ever went away. Since LBJ, the Democrats have done far more damage to black families than they managed since the Civil War. They herded them into state-sponsored inner city ghettos, destroyed the nuclear families, incarcerated an incredible number of black men, convinced black women to marry the state through welfare rather than the father(s) of their children, and got who knows how many black children aborted. Thanks to quotas and racial preferences, the talent and work of successful black people is called into question, creating a “the soft racism of low expectations”.
More than any Jim Crow racist or Grand Wizard could have dreamed of a century ago.
While the imagery in the ad clearly delivers a strong point-of-view, it would be useful to know if the accusations in it are true. Did West actually cut funding drastically to the programs cited in the ad?
If yes, there is at least SOME justification/truth being spoken in the ad and the content ought to be considered by a reasonable voter. If no, it is a vile and despicable lie that deserves no consideration whatever.
I have a lot of respect for West but no one is perfect. We need to know about all aspects of his track record, including his voting record in Congress and his justification for those actions. It may well be that he can defend those actions to most people’s satisfaction.
We can imagine a comparable campaign against Harry Truman in 1948 where the ad points out that he dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and perhaps shows pictures of badly injured civilians. That actually happened and it’s not false to say it did. However, I think Truman could easily have justified even that extreme action to general satisfaction.
On the other hand, if West didn’t vote as described in the ad, the parties behind the ad should be widely reviled by everyone who values truth.
So I suppose the KKK fascist democrats next ad will depict Allen West raping white women.
A couple of bits of background:
Before the census dictated redistricting, Colonel West’s district boundary was across the street from my residence. I got to see lots of things up close, and even more behind the curtains.
As a conscientious freshman congressman West immediately organized neighborhood town meetings to discuss residents input and his thought-out positions. These meetings were a great improvement over the previous congressman who would not even live in the district. He ruled from his condo in Maryland. The DNC Chairwoman Debbi Wasserman who lives in the next county South, bitter over losing the district for her party, dispatched a squad of goons to break up the meeting. Local law enforcement, and a heavy independent media presence caught it all on tape. After a repeat performance at the second town meeting West was forced to cancel scheduled meetings for the physical safety of his constituents The on scene agitators were identified and linked conclusively with Wasserman.
Redistricting made the Gerrymander look like a choirboy, the first attempt looked like someone had dropped an octopus on the map.
The bitterness runs very deep, Ms. Wasserman is currently awaiting trial on federal fraud charges re the use of campaign contributions for personal benefit. The trial delay is caused by a benevolent court system that is willing to wait until her husband serves out his term of incarceration in federal prison after conviction on the same charges. Seems the court doesn’t want to have both parents in jail at the same time, throwing their three kids on the tender mercy of Florida’s Child Welfare System.
