If you only read liberals like Michael Tomasky, President Obama is such a lock to win re-election that it’s a foregone conclusion. But Gallup suggests that the president has something, beyond his fundraising flop, to worry about.
A new poll shows that President Obama is losing nine percent of his 2008 supporters to Mitt Romney..
Gallup finds that 86 percent of 2008 Obama voters say they plan to vote for the president again. Nine percent, however, say they’re now supporting Romney.
On the other hand, 92 percent of John McCain voters say they’re supporting Mitt Romney. Five percent of those McCain voters are now voting for Obama.
That’s a net shift of four percent of the electorate moving away from Obama.
Obama only won by five points against a weak McCain effort in 2008, and when he could claim to be Captain Hopenchange the Lightworker. Now, he’s known for bad loans, a bad economy, and some disreputable campaigning that is turning many voters off to him.
Something else to consider: voter enthusiasm. Obama’s voter base is far less enthusiastic in 2012 than it was in 2008. Many of them will not switch to Romney, but they will not vote at all. The Republicans’ vote, meanwhile, has been steadily enthusiastic from the primaries forward. They want to vote, and they want to vote specifically to end Obama’s presidency.
And one more thing to consider: the economy is the number one issue, and voters are moving more and more toward Romney as the better candidate to handle the economy.

Statistically, 5% of the time the results of a poll will be an outlier, yielding something that is completely wrong with the true result being outside the margin of error. Of course, that assumes that the poll was even conducted soundly in the first place. If the poll’s sample is not random, or the question is blatantly manipulative, the result is always worthless except for pure propaganda.
Except for Rasmussen the polls have all lost their credibility with me.
Statistically speaking, you can pretty much bet the ranch that 100% of the time, pollsters will get “results” that tell whoever paid them exactly what they want to hear. Since the major employers of pollsters today are the MSM, this means that polls will consistently reaffirm the progressive position.
This is about as unexpected as rain consistently proving itself to be wet, IMHO. Which is why I not only ignore polls, I hang up on pollsters. I have no interest in being “push-polled” into fawning over The One, or being hung up on when I refuse to play by the rules.
Polling, like political robocalls and telemarketing, is an annoyance that serves no useful purpose.

Somehow, I doubt Obama bin Lenin is much of a fan of America, and would prefer something much more socialist/communist. Hence, he does not believe in capitalism, freedom, liberty, business [small or large] that is not controlled by the government, the rule of Law, or anything else the Founding Fathers held dear. One of the reasons why Obama is losing some of the black vote is because of a stealth rumor that has been circulating nationwide through the black community for the past year or so. According to this rumor, Obama’s 2008 campaign was financed in part by the KKK, because they were told that he would push for more black genocide through Planned Parenthood. And the Democrat-held congress at the time would enact legislation to force the taxpayers to fund it. And then along came Obamacare, the Obamacare tax, and the Contraceptive Mandate. And that’s when black Americans started paying attention.

That’s for CABLE news. Fox is way behind the broadcast networks, their news audience isn’t 10% of the total viewers.
If voters are only paying attention to the local news and other pro-Obama news sources, then worried Republicans need to do two things. First and foremost make sure you get to the polls come november and place your vote for Romney and secondly, either donate or increase your donations to a Romney leaning Super-Pac so they can increase Romney awareness on these channels.

Obama will win, California, New York, Illinois, Vermont and the District of Columbia.
Obama May win Washington, Oregon, Maine, and Hawaii.
All other states will vote Romney.
The republicans will gain 12 in the Senate and hold the House with 7 to 11 seats gained.

Do you really believe that Romney will win Maryland and Massachusetts? I can think of no situation where that would be possible, especially for Maryland.
One recent poll I saw in NJ had Obama up by 7, in a state he carried by 14 in 2008. And I suspect that poll oversampled Democrats, as most do — it was not Rasmussen.
Maybe Romney is being helped by Governor Christie’s popularity in the state, but even some deep blue states will be close. I do think Romney can and will take Wisconsin and Michigan, and probably even Pennsylvania, because the President has made clear that he thinks blue collar white Democrats are racist, sub-human scum.

As we get closer to the election, the Marxist-dominated media in this country will do several things to drag Obama’s ass across the finish line first. Of course, they will gin up every minor controversy, going back to when Romney was a baby, while ignoring Hussein’s radical past. Of course, they will scream “racism” at every criticism of Obama. But two other things scare me more:
a) They will put out ever more lopsided polls, vastly overstating Democratic turnout, (and not releasing the internals), proclaiming Obama the certain and overwhelming winner before the election.
b) If their private polling tells them that, their best Goebbels-like efforts at propaganda notwithstanding, that Obama is still going down to defeat, they will play up the threat of rioting and racial violence to scare people into not voting for Romney, because that would lead to race war and the collapse of the country. But even more so, it might give Obama a pretext for cancelling or nullifying the elections – not so outrageous, given that the outgoing Democratic governor of NC called last year for delaying or cancelling the 2012 election.
With the MSM shedding viewers at their current rate (CNN down 41%) their propaganda isn’t reaching the numbers they have in years past. The people are tired of the MSM saying the economy is fine when they’re struggling to feed their families. This election will be the biggest “beat down” of an incumbent president in the history of the USA.
I set myself a task regarding polls a few years ago, trying to determine “why?”
A few possibilities entered the picture. In the beginning, it seems that polls (going back to the Romans, at least) were a measure of what people thought and their preferences. Very handy for a despot. Later, two uses of polling emerged at roughly the same time. The first use, being more benign, was to generate buzz about what your neighbors were thinking. It sold papers and sparked conversation which sold even MORE papers. The other, concurrent use of polling, came to resemble not so much information-gathering as advocacy. This audience is well aware of the latter. Yet, in evidence, there is an even more insidious use of “polling” in this election cycle, and I offer 2 scenarios.
I had a conversation with a noted historian yesterday who offered a canny explanation for the pro-Obama polling data. He believes that the dems know that they are going to lose. The idea is to pi$$ in the well to discount Romney’s legitimacy after he wins a la Bush V Gore. If the win doesn’t match the data, it can be made suspect and serve as a launch platform for the next election. I think my friend probably has it right, and I told him so. But the possibility exists that the doctored data serves an even darker purpose.
We know that Obama’s team will do anything, literally, to win. We know that the dem leadership will only stoop lower. We know that the AG will not prosecute intimidation of non-dem voters. I suggest that the manufactured polling data is laying the groundwork to buttress a fraudulent dem victory.
The only way we win in this scenario is by a huge margin.

You are right about Obama and the Dem leadership and the depths to which they will go to win. Holder is trying to prevent the photo ID law from taking effect prior to Nov for obvious reasons. The big inner cities will vote twice as many as they have registered voters and there will not be one investigation. I firmly believe like the liberal nut job Naomi Watts did with GWB, that Obama will create something to stop the election if it looks like he will lose in a landslide. He has the press, the FBI, the AG, the Senate and five of the loons on the SCOTUS. He is already talking about the government controlling the internet and with the wave of his black and white hand he has stopped the HSA, TSA and ICE from enforcing existing immigration laws. He has instituted amnesty and voting legality for the new Dreamers and with a little more creative contempt for our Constitution he can add millions to voter records over night. Who would stop him? The testicularly challenged House of Representatives. The Justice Dept? The military? Who? SCOTUS? Ha Ha!
The idea is to nip this administration in the bud while it’s still possible.

Now that the rabbit has been out for a while we’ve discovered that it was in the final stages of tularemia. In the nearly four years since then the disease has spread unchecked through his administration!
I have been trying to draw out (poll) friends and neighbors about the upcoming election for nearly a year. Here are the results of my efforts.
90% wish the whole thing would just go away. Of the most “knowledgeable” the deepest “thinkers” have “informed” themselves to the point that they have learned that Romney is a rich white guy and Obama isn’t. All agree that illegal aliens shouldn’t get welfare. Beyond that it is a blank stare and “it sure has been hot this summer”. That’s it. The American electorate. The exceptions are Democrats whose grasp of what’s going on is expressed by “I always vote for Democrats”.

I remember when Reagan ran for the first time, all network polls proved conclusively that he had no chance. However, there was a mysterious ground swell some 24 hours prior to election day. I later learned that, during telephone polling, certain ZIP codes were never called, because the results are unsatisfactory to MSM news departments. In this campaign, 86% of the press reports of Rommey’s recent foreign trip were negative. “Blunder”, “Gaffe”, “Misstep”, “Mitt the Twit” were the reports. In 2008, then Senator Obama made a similar travel; he received over 90% positive reportings from MSM. Another example is the continuous reports that the Tea Party has collapsed, until they whip entrenched establishment politicians. The stark difference, two separate worlds of truth, is the reason Fox News has become a dominant power, and PM is becoming one. People who read, no longer believe the MSM.
The major networks have lost credibility, a fatal career condition for a journalist. From climate change, to the effectiveness of stimulus spending, to the safety of nuclear power or fracking, voters simply do not trust the MSM, and major newspapers, with good reason. The essential glue of democracy, straight talk, honest dialog, truth in reporting, objectivity, has died in our society. This is dangerous to our freedom.
Those 5% McCain voters who’ll now vote for Obama need immediate CT scans. Nonsensical behavior is one of those “red flags” people always talk about…you know, just before someone turns dangerous.
I fully agree that there’s buyer’s remorse out there.
And all the “D+ polling propoganda” by the left will not help.
But even more than that, conservative and mainstream Americans are really fed up and mad as hell. And most cannot wait to make a “statement”… and one that will be heard all the way around the world.
And I believe that voter turnout will be significantly up for the GOP.

This news is not getting out. Saw an article all over the place that said Obama wins by the numbers. Had a map and went state by state. He still wins by the delegate count. Sorry folks if you want him to lose got to penetrate the big states.
Harry Reed heard that Romney hasnt paid tax for ten years. Others have heard that Reed and Barney Frank and Nancy Polosy have been having intimate relations on government time. Let him proove its not true.
I can understand the 9% moving away from Obama but what I’m having a problem understanding is.. Who would makeup the 5% who actually voted for McCain AND, more importantly, TEA Party Conservative Sarah Palin but have now had an epiphany and will vote for Obama, the most divisive, far-Left-Liberal POTUS we’ve ever had… It just seems so unlikely…

Assume Obama beat McCain 55/45
9% of his 55 would be 4.95%
Then Romney loses 5% of McCain’s 45% = 2.25%
Net swing is then 4.95% less 2.25% or 2.7%
On that math R = ~3% behind with 4% undecided.

There probably is baked-in bias against Romney in these polls, but beyond that I think some people will lie about who they’re going to vote for. For many reasons, I think there is a small but significant number of people who will say they’re voting for Obama when they’re not. Especially if a media name like ABC or CBS is conducting the poll.
Another factor is that Obama outspent McCain by a landslide, nearly twice as much as McCain on a per-vote basis. He will not enjoy that kind of advantage this time around – which is one reason he is trying to ding Romney now. Obama has “primary” money he can spend, while Romney spent his to win the nomination and cannot spend the “general election” money he’s amassed until he formally is nominated.

Anytime you read polls ask yourself, ” If a pollster called me, would I tell the truth?” I may or may not tell the truth depending on how the pollster sounded, what my privacy concerns are that day, and how busy I am when I take the call.
Don’t believe what comes out in polls. Keep remembering that Obama was elected by only 30% of registered voters. There was a 58% turnout and of the people who actually voted, 52% voted for Obama. Multiply 0.58 and 0.52 and you get 0.30. Just 30% of registered voters saddled us with Obama. Forget about the polls and just vote. He has not gained followers.
Agree with the comment above. There’s another factor. Many people have told me that they have not been answering the polling people honestly, saying they will vote for Mr O when in reality, they are opposed totally & completely. Those are giving a false positive. Mr. O is also sending material to registered Republicans, a waste of campaign money because he has no idea of who is who on those lists. In addition, I have received 3 calls already from polling organizations which were clearly not affiliated with Republicans. In 2 of them, I refused to continue answering questions and hung up.
