America Values Chick-Fil-A, and the Freedom of Speech and Religion (And More Updates)

Dan M. sends these photos from South Carolina. You can see through the windows in the second photo that the dining room is packed, and the line to order is out the door.

Clayton Cramer sends this photo from Boise State University. He wishes to thank the loving, tolerant tyrants of the left for introducing him to a new chicken spot. Note to Clayton: The chicken at the freestanding restaurants is always better than at the food court versions.

Dick C. sends in this photo from Georgetown, TX. Dick reports: At 1:00 we went for lunch today at the CFA in Wolf Ranch Shopping Center. My wife and I had to park in the adjacent mall parking lot and walk over. We stood in line for 35 minutes to order. The drive-thru had cars going back out to Hwy 29. The lines snaked all through the restaurant. The greeter said it had been like that since they opened at 6:30 am.

Steve N., Plano, TX:

Ann K. sends a link to a slideshow of the lines in Bryan/College Station, TX (home of the Aggies), and a news story about the local response to the Chick-Fil-A appreciation day.

And it’s evident today that Chicago values chicken, along with the freedom to think for oneself. Seriously.

Pro-tip for the Chick-Fil-A haters: If you’re really trying to persuade anyone to your point of view, you’re doing it wrong.

Update: Los Angeles TV report. Pat Boone was there to get lunch. According to a tweet that flashed by, the CFA in Paramus, NJ, served more than 3,000 people today and had to send people out to buy more buns.

Update: Georgia. You have to see the drive-thru line to believe it.

Update: Greg C. sends this image from Phoenix, AZ, along with this report: About an hour wait. 108 degrees.  Employees brought out umbrellas water and free food.

My sister texted me earlier to tell me that the customer in front of her “paid forward” for her ticket, and that the CFA clerk told her that people had been doing the same all day long. My sis didn’t break the chain.

Update: Rodney L. sends this pic from El Paso, TX, along with this report: 1 PM, Cielo Vista Mall, El Paso, Texas.  There are three other locations in El Paso.  I noticed quite a few soldiers in uniform in there also.  Talked to the lady in front of me and she’s going to call me to go out to the range to learn to pistol shoot.  Met two other Washington Redskins fans.  Had fun talking to two gentlemen while I ate at their table.  It really did remind me of a party.

Also, a report from Tom in Tampa, FL: My wife manages a Chick-fil-A in the Tampa, FL,  area. They were mobbed as soon as the store opened at 6 am and have had one-hour waits for meals all day. At the moment the line is out the door, around the building, and into a nearby Wal-Mart parking lot.

She was supposed to be off 2 hours ago but will probably wind up working until they close at 10 pm, which means a 16-hour day for her.

Update from Mechanicsburg, PA: Sorry, couldn’t stop to get a picture. The store is just off a major highway in a shopping center. Traffic extends from the parking lots and onto the highway by approx a half mile. Cops are there keeping the line outside safe and traffic free. Was the same scene at lunch. I think they shut down the drive thru to keep the folks in line safe.

Update (7:50 pm): I went back to the same Chick-Fil-A I visited at lunch. The dining room was still packed and the double line of cars wrapped around the adjacent parking lot. As I got my dinner (after about a 50 minute wait), I heard the employees discussing the shortages. The store had run out of brownies, cole slaw, and lemonade and was about to run out of something else but I didn’t catch what that was. The spicy chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and chocolate cookies I ordered were delicious.

Here are some more photos from around the country.

Russ S. sends this photo from Fresno, CA, with this report: Taken in Fresno California at 2pm in 100 degree heat. Drive thru was over 30 cars.

Here’s a pic from Sioux City, IA.

More to come.

Update: Bill S. in McKinney, TX: I shot these at noon at the 121 & Custer store in McKinney, Tx.  The atmosphere was incredible, almost like a football tailgate party.  The gal in front of me there was talking of  “kiss-ins” on Friday in support of gay rights.  She said if they did that, she was bringing her husband and showing them how kissing really works.

Again, this was a festive occasion.  Coupled with the Cruz victory it was really special.
