In a surprising announcement on today’s Hannity Show, Rand Paul has endorsed Mitt Romney even before his father has dropped out of the presidential race:
“Well, you know, my first choice had always been my father. … He is still my first pick,” Paul said, according to a rush transcript of the appearance. “But now that the nominating process is over, tonight, I am happy to announce I am supporting Governor Romney.”
“Over the past three and half years, President Obama has made government more and more of a presence in our lives, and Americans can’t afford four more years of the same failed policies,” Romney said. “As president, I will reform the federal government and make it smaller, simpler, and smarter. I am grateful for Sen. Paul’s support and look forward to working with him to get America back on the right track.”
Next question: what will Father Ron’s myriad devotees do? It’s obvious the son trusts Romney enough to throw in with him. Will they?
The crystal ball says… yes.

It looks like the Ron Paul zealots are condemning Rand Paul –> http://twitchy.com/2012/06/07/rand-paul-endorses-mitt-romney/
Even though he agrees with them on almost everything, they condemn him for not being Ron Paul’s “mini-me.”
William F. Buckley spurned the Birchers for the sake of the Conservative movement; today we must do the same to the Ron Paul “reLOVEution”
This will not end well…
Ah good ole’ PJM. Where for every snarky anti-Paul comment, there’s ten pro-Paul comments deleted. Look how pathetic those Ronulans are! Actually what else can Rand Paul do if he wants to run in 2016 after Romney loses?
any vote that is not for mitt is a vote that is for obama! that simple. vote your conscience later, this one’s too important, don’t nader us this time… PLEASE.
That ploy is as tired and worn out as the race card. If you can’t come up with any real arguments, best to stay out of the discussion.
lol…Romney fans love saying this…what’s even funnier is that when you ask them what they like they say something similiar..they say he has a best chance of wining…but they never tell you what about Romney (his ideals) that they like…
to the author of the poost..your cyrstal ball is wrong..and you have no idea what Ron Paul people are all about…lol

Frankly who cares what the Ronulons do. Why not do us all a favor and register as Libertarians, where they can rant & rave all they want.
Most of the Ron Paul supporters will break for Romney after the convention. For once, the Libertarians do have a good candidate in Gary Johnson – I wish he had stayed and had more of a voice in the GOP.
No, every vote for Gary Johnson in a swing state like Ohio, or Colorado is a vote for Obama. However, a vote for Johnson in a deeply Red State like Texas is a vote for moving President Romney more in a libertarian direction after he’s elected.
Simple: If you live in a Red State vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson.
If you live in a Swing State, PLEASE! vote for Mitt Romney.
If you’re concious bothers you, find a “vote buddy” in another state. Swap your votes.
Libertarians for Romney, Republicans for Johnson
Pffft. Ron Paul suspended active campaigning a couple of weeks ago. He is hoping to move his agenda forward at the convention and support liberty minded candidates in stateand local elections. What is it with you people?
Chris Cillizza has it exactly right:

If Ron blows himself up by giving the election to Obama, he blows Rand up too. He’s a smart man and he knows how the game works–he’s played his hand very well, consistently. While Rand is clearly his own man he is also his father’s legacy, which he may ably advance. The Paul’s are doing the right thing, but we’ll have to see if his heretofore supporters are really supporters.
