President Obama said at an Iowa campaign event last night that Mitt Romney’s business experience may have value, but not in the White House.
Obama hit on the Bain Capital angle quickly in his speech at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, where Romney defended corporations in a speech last August.
“Governor Romney is a patriotic American. He’s raised a wonderful family. He should be proud of the great personal success he’s had as a CEO of a large financial firm. There are plenty of good and honest people in that industry, and there’s an important, creative role for it in the free market,” Obama said.
“But Governor Romney has made his experience as a financial CEO the entire rationale of his candidacy for president,” he continued, launching into details about corporate buyouts. “There may be value for that kind of experience, but it’s not in the White House.”
He said the president’s job is “to make sure that everybody in this country gets a fair shake, everybody gets a fair shot, everybody is playing by the same set of rules.”
“I know Governor Romney came to Des Moines last week; warned about a ‘prairie fire of debt.’ That’s what he said,” Obama said as the crowd laughed. “But he left out some facts. His speech was more like a cow pie of distortion. I don’t know whose record he twisted the most — mine or his.”
The president hit familiar notes in trying to rally the base to mobilize as it did in 2008, touting his community organizer experience and warning that Republican policies would hurt everything from cancer research to the poor and disabled.
“We don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to choose, or getting rid of Planned Parenthood or taking away affordable birth control,” Obama said. “We don’t need that. I want women to control their own health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same economic opportunities as my sons. We’re not turning back the clock.”

Cow pies have value and can be beneficial, unlike the waste spewing from Obama’s mouth.
We’ll be burning them for cooking fuel when Obama finishes strangling coal and oil.
You sure we’ll have anything to cook?
This is coming from the guy who can’t decide on his heritage and then claims Republican voters want to take away women’s right and punish the poor and disabled. I suppose that fires up the diehards, but I can’t imagine moderates are impressed much.
If Elizabeth Warren is getting so much criticism for wrongfully claiming to be Native American, how is Obama getting a free pass for claiming and going along with the idea that he was born in Kenya for so long? Seems like the means are the same in both cases to me.
He said the president’s job is “to make sure that everybody in this country gets a fair shake, everybody gets a fair shot, everybody is playing by the same set of rules.”
You heard it right here, folks: Obama, the crony capitalism master, just admitted in public that he’s a failure.
It’s frightening that there are are people in this country who buy this…cow pie. It’s even more frightening that they vote.
Is it true that most of the people in these audiences are brought in from other states? I heard that rumor. I am just wondering if that is true? Anyone know? Because the people I talk to seem to think they are seeing some familiar people in all these photo ops. Just wondering…..
There may be a place in society for a perpetual protester, a serial race-baiter, a divisive, angry voice hurtling insults against the founding documents of this nation, refusing to put forth a serious budget and cramming down forced and fascist fiats about what we must buy and what we must not consume.
But that place in not in the White House.
There may be a place in society for running guns to drug cartels, bribing people to keep quiet about true intentions of radical extremists, stealing taxpayer money for “green energy” boondoggles and suing our own states for trying to protect their borders.
But that place is not in the White House.
On second thought…there really shouldn’t be a place in society for treason. And certainly not in the White House.
Would it be out of line to suggest supplying the Obama campaign with REAL cow pies for reference?
