Rasmussen: Walker Leads by Five in Wisconsin

Bounceless for Barrett.

A new Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey shows that 50% of the state’s Likely Voters prefer Walker while 45% choose Barrett. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate and another two percent (2%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

In Tuesday’s primary, Walker outpolled Barrett and the Big Labor candidate, Katherine Falk, combined. Of those who voted in the Democratic primary, 17% were Republicans — voting to mess with the Dem result. They’re Walker voters next month. Walker earned the most votes for a Wisconsin governor in an uncontested primary in the last 40 years, in a GOP primary that was a foregone conclusion. He doesn’t seem to have an enthusiasm problem.

Walker defeated Barrett by five in 2010. He leads by five now. The Democrats are fractured after Tuesday’s bitter battle. What if Gov. Walker starts running away with the recall?
