Spike Lee must have seen the stories about the Florida couple fleeing to a hotel and then lawyering up:
Mr. Lee thought the McClain’s address belonged to George Zimmerman, the 28 year old man who fatally shot 17 year old Trayvon Martin last month (background here). In a tweet Mr. Lee wrote:
“I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address.It Was A Mistake.Please Leave The McClain’s In Peace.Justice In Court.”
Overdue, but good. I’ve been pretty tough on Spike this week, and he deserved it and should pick up the tab for the McClain’s hotel and security, but I’ll say this: He has excellent taste in the soccer team he supports. Excellent.
Not good enough for me, for the simple reason that he’s only apologizing for getting the address wrong. His larger, much more important transgression was using his fame to encourage vigilante mob justice and, arguably, solicit murder. And for that he (along with plenty of other people) seems completely unrepentant.
He belongs in cuffs.

I too agree. They should sue that racist creep for every penny they can get. And if there can be criminal penalties, so much the better.

What he has done is inexcusable, and it’s high time for race hustlers be held accountable for their actions, whether they apologize or not. Laws have been broken and innocent people put at risk. Taxpayers are on the hook in Sanford for the phony circus, and local business’ have suffered loss.
People are dead because of Al Sharpton, and now he works for a major network, MSNBC. Jesse Jackson acquires money for ‘justice,’ and hands much of it to his mistress and their child. Crystal Magnum shouts “Hate crime!” and instead of the $$$ she sought, goes on to murder her boyfriend, after the LaCross defendants lost both reputation and money defending themselves.
If I were to report a “crime” and proved to be lying, I’d be sitting in a jail cell in handcuffs, a police record following me the rest of my life.

Spike Lee operates on the same system as Sharpton and Jackson. They can afford to be wrong every time and nothing will come of it. In fact they ARE wrong every time and nothing comes of it. The msm NEVER reminds us of all the major mistakes both of these dim wits have made over the years and how much damage and death they have caused with their over heated rhetoric. Lee, like Obama, has now joined the growing group of race hustlers.

Please oh please start wrapping Spike Lee around Axlerod and Obama’s neck right next to Bill Maher. Make them choke on all that campaign fundraising.
I do realize that our DoJ isn’t going to touch this case, but the RNC needs to put out a “demand for action” ad against Obama citing the Black Panther’s Bounty, Twitters “killZimmerman” hashtag and Spike Lee and Roseanne Barr’s Tweeting addresses of innocent bystanders (the McNeils and Zimmermans parents) with the clear intent of causing the harm – the Black Panthers Bounty should constitute Murder for Hire.
It is odd that the Left’s outrage against Zimmerman’s alleged, careless vigilantism should reflexively result in their own.
Then again, it’s the Left we’re talking about, so it’s not so odd at all.
Moderators, you apparently deleted my post. It was not intended to be derogatory. It simply stated that Lee’s “apology” is not “I’m sorry,” but more along the lines of “I’m sorry I got the wrong address; we’ll do better next time.”
