No apologies, Mitt. Not when you’re right.
GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney said Monday he doesn’t understand how young people could vote for Democrats.
“I don’t see how a young American can vote for, well, can vote for a Democrat,” Romney said in a speech at the University of Chicago.
We hear a lot about Greece’s massive debt in the news. Thanks to President Obama, Americans’ debt per capita is now actually worse than Greece’s. It’s harder for young people to get jobs now than it has been in decades.
The former Massachusetts governor said Democrats were saddling young people with debt while Republicans are committed to reducing spending and balancing the budget.
Romney then said he didn’t mean to be “flip.”
“I apologize for being so offensive for saying that,” Romney added. “In the humor, there’s some truth there.”
It’s not funny. It’s just true. Keep saying it, and never apologize for it.

Isn’t that what he’s SUPPOSED TO BE SAYING for the love of Pete? It’s this kind of squishy, namby pamby, Jello-spined apologizing crap that turns people off to guys like Romney and McCain.
It’s not like he said that Obama voters are like Christmas tree lights. They hang together, half of them don’t work and the other half aren’t that bright.
Heck. I wouldn’t apologize that, either. Facts is facts.
A modifcation to my original thought… not only should he not be apologizing, he should be expanding upon that theme.
I don’t see a young American, a female American, a black American, a hispanic American or any American could ever vote for a Democrat.
This is why Romney is a guaranteed loser.
He hasn’t got the guts to stand by his guns when he finally manages to slow-draw/fumble them out of the holster.
The man has a tin ear big enough to roof half the favelas of Rio. He cannot say something without stuttering, stammering, or—worst of all—half-apologizing for it. He makes you sorry that you agree with him instead of proud to do so.
This. Yet another reason why Mitt can’t seal the deal with conservatives! Politics ain’t beanbag, Mitt, and the Dems won’t play nice, they’ll play for keeps! You need to hit the Dems over the head with this EACH AND EVERY DAY, never back down, never apologize, NEVER SURRENDER!
I’m struggling to find the humor that Mitt refers to in “The former Massachusetts governor said Democrats were saddling young people with debt while Republicans are committed to reducing spending and balancing the budget”.
What part of that statement makes you laugh Mitt? Are you laughing at the ‘utes being buried in debt? Or, is it a Freudian slip and you’re getting a good belly laugh about “Republicans are committed to reducing spending and balancing the budget”? Should we assume that you are not planning to reduce spending and balance the budget? It’s just some good political humor to fool the rubes?
Sorry Mitt, I see nothing funny about politicians bankrupting the country.
Laugh all you want at Mitt Romney now. But on November 6 he will give a very gracious concession speech that will do us all proud!
Ouch. Only problem is that we’ll be running for the borders and won’t have time to listen.
to paraphrase, “i don’t see how a young American could vote for, well the two-faced, hypocrite romney.” any means to the ends i want, romney. aw shucks, puerto rico, doesn’t need to speak english as their official language, romney (unlike every previous state admitted to the union). the immoral, leftist, romney.
I’m sorry that I will be the President that will preside over the final collapse.. Not that I care..
Can’t we all just be friends?
And that successfully encapsulates why Mitt Romney will lose to Barack Obama by a greater percentage than McCain lost.
Rumors of his electability have been greatly exaggerated.
