Why I'm Not Impressed with Kirsten Powers' Take on Rush

Question: How is this collection of childish insults better than “slut”?

During Monday’s news updates on Fox Business Network’s Imus In The Morning, host Don Imus went off on Rush Limbaugh‘s weekend apology to Sandra Fluke, calling Limbaugh a “fat, gutless, pill-popping loser.”

The left has obviously tamed and neutered Imus after his idiotic comment about the Rutgers women’s basketball team cost him his show.

I suppose the most insulting thing I can say about Imus happens to be what I really think: That I’d forgotten he was still alive.

In other news, I guess I’m supposed to be impressed by this Kirsten Powers column on the left’s attacks on conservative women. Frankly, I’m not. First, look at the headline: She’s advancing he absurdity that Rush Limbaugh is a “misogynist” (a word that means one hates women) while going after the left’s bottom feeders. The Democrats still win; they’ll trade a dozen Ed Schult’s and Bill Maher’s if they can take one Limbaugh out, because Rush is far more effective than an army of these liberals.

Here’s the other reason I’m not impressed. When the Obama regime first pushed out its abortifacient mandate, Powers, who is pro-life, called the mandate “madness” and slammed them for it. Then, when the administration pretended to make an “accommodation” that didn’t actually change anything, Powers jumped right back into the party line. She ended up advancing the mandate, by pretending to have been persuaded by the fake accommodation. Now she’s pretending to care about the left’s attacks on conservative women, while advancing the overall meme that Limbaugh is a “misogynist” — a woman hater. That’ll last a day or two and then she’ll find a reason to snap right back into the Dem line.

Here’s the game: Powers says just enough to earn a little cred with the right, but keeps on advancing the liberal cause. So I’m not impressed. Maybe with her cleverness, but not with her authenticity.
