Look who’s Supporting Media Matters
The Daily Caller lists grants to Media Matters.
Aside from such reliably leftist foundations and contributors such as the Ford Foundation, sponsor of the odious Durban conference noted for its anti-American, anti semitic tone; the Joyce Foundation; the Sandler Foundation; and the Tides Foundation, noted leftist money laundering outfit for other donors and foundations, which alone has kicked in $4,384,702, there are four Jewish groups whose members ought to be asking questions of their officers.
Professor Alan Dershowitz has slammed Media Matters for its anti-semitic bigotry. But according to the grant list published by the Daily Caller, in addition to a number individual Jewish donors and Foundations–like Barbra Streisand’s–established by Jewish donors who sustain and support this disreputable outfit, four specifically Jewish organizations have been among its contributors: the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, Inc; Community Foundation of United Federation of San Diego; Jewish Communal Fund; Jewish Community Foundation of Cleveland.
These organizations should be called to account for their actions by their own contributors.
UPDATE:
Aaron reports
Clarice,
The Jewish Community Foundation is NOT a program of the Jewish Federation of San Diego County. They are completely different entities.
Please revise your article as such, and check your references before posting content.”
I have checked by references and
Page 3 of the Daily Caller printout derived from the Media Matters filings lists “Community Foundation of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego” as having made 2 donations, one for $100,000 and one for $50,000. If there’s an error it is either Media Matters’ or Daily Caller’s.”
I would hate to misreport anything, but that is what the pdf which reportedly is based on Media Matters own records show. If there is any further clarification, I’ll post it gladly.

And that’ll happen about the time lions become vegetarians.
To the vast majority of American Jews today, “Democrat” or “liberal” trumps “Jewish.”
See Norman Podhoretz’s very good book, Why Are Jews Liberals?
Someone here at PJM a few weeks ago said that Reform Judaism is the Democratic Party with holidays.
Too true, alas.
My guess is that the contributors are as low information voters as most and have no idea what Media Matters is or that their money is going to support this sleazy outfit.
I disagree. These organizations know full well who they are supporting and may, in fact, agreee with many MM policies. CJP (a.k.a Confused Jewish Philosophy) takes much money from wealthy donors who are of marginal affiliation; many of whom are intermarried or even complete Gentiles. In order to maintain these income streams it is far more important to hew to their ideological biases and not “rock the boat”. Nothing personal, just “money talks…” business.
They should be more than called to account. Their donors should withhold contributions until they stop supporting such an odious, vicious group. I can’t imagine on what ignorant grounds a decision to support MM was made, but now is the time for all good foundations and Jewish philanthropies to hold press conferences before sundown TODAY to say we made a terrible mistake and will withdraw all future funding and will do our best to get the money we;ve already donated back in our coffers. We stand fully against the tactics and beliefs of MM. They should ask Alan Dershowitz to speak for all of them in condemning the evil that is Media Matters.
Read Stanley Kurtz’s book to understand how the communists have taken over “foundations” to fund their activities.
It’s fairly simple, American jews support anti-semitism in order to have the “Albatross” of Israel removed from their necks.
They don’t care that it will be replaced with a boot on their throat.
If you only got your news from the NYT, WaPo, LA Times and Miami Herald, as many Jewish voters do, how would you know anything about Media Matters and its anti-semitism and general sleaziness?
Here’s CJP of Boston’s website, can you see where donors could find out that the organization was contributing to Media Matters?http://www.cjp.org/ Donors are told they’d be supporting Israel.
Community Foundation of Jewish Federation San Diego donors are also told the group supports Israel.http://jcfsandiego.org/AboutUs/MissionVisionValues.aspx
” The Jewish community fund of Cleveland displays on its website its support of Israel.
The Federation’s overseas programs and activities create “living” bridges between Jews in Cleveland and Jews around the world. A global community has been transformed into a tightly knit, cohesive family through programs that offer unique opportunities for direct and personal connections to individuals and organizations in Israel, the former Soviet Union, and other locations around the world”http://www.jewishcleveland.org/Section.aspx?id=17
I reiterate the donors are low information types and the administrators of these funds deserve to hear from the donors who have been misled. If the administrators didn’t know what they were doing, perhaps new ones will be more attentive.
Those pretty pictures and sentiment-jerking pages are meant for the media rubes and small time donors of $250 or less. “Leadership donors” get a direct line to the executive offices.

It stands to reason that major effort is made to assure compliance with donors’ stated wishes when endowment monies are distributed. If they do not the Board of Trustees will make sure they do. That is the only way to assure that the substantial donations keep coming. Again, it’s just good business.
All told the reported donations from these 4 outfits total almost $600,000.

Aaron, I’d hate to tar someone unfairly .Page 3 of the Daily Caller printout derived from the Media Matters filings lists “Community Foundation of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego” as having made 2 donations, one for $100,000 and one for $50,000. If there’s an error it is either Media Matters’ or Daily Caller’s.
If this is in error, I suggest you contact them.
If you have any other information to report back after you have, I will publish that
The Jewish Community Foundation began as a part of Federation in 1968 and has since separated completely from the Jewish Federation of San Diego County on December 20, 2005.
The Jewish Federation of San Diego County would like to make clear that we do not have influence on the contributions and allocations of the Jewish Community Foundation, and has no comment on the matter.
