It certainly looks that way: Ronmey won big in FLA with economic conservatives, suburbanites, older women and Cubans.
So is Romney another Eisenhower — or another Bob Dole?
I would put money at the head of your list of factors.
Another Eisenhower? Hardly. He may be living proof that you can buy a nomination, and has certainly been the establishment candidate, left and right, from the beginning. Why? Maybe the entire establishment has good reason to make sure one of theirs, party immaterial, is in charge. A real maverick might tell all of the truth.
By the way, I don’t think Newt is a real maverick either, nor Santorum, though at least he’s consistant and has not been acting like a fifteen year old school girl trying to become the prom queen by slurring her rival.
After the mutual attacks of the last two weeks, I am still for a deadlocked and then open convention. Second choice Santorum, as long as he keeps acting like the only adult in the field.
The GOP in charge?
I hope not…
Well that’s the next collection of clowns that need a serious tar & feathering and then run out on a rail….
Allen West is probably the best conservative Republican in Florida (followed closely, very closely by Marco Rubio) and the GOP is trying gerrymander away his seat…
The Estabulistas won this round, kind of. Anyone notice that the anti-Romney vote equaled the Romney vote in Florida even though the Ken doll spent millions and millions?
If you are a Virginian and don’t like that you have no choice in the primary, go the the polling place and cast your vote for nobody. AKA None of the Above. If enough of us do it we’ll out poll the Estabulistas.
A comparison to Ike is a compliment — he was a popular and reasonably successful president….almost everyone liked Ike!
This website hates popular and successful Republicans. It’s exactly like some stuck up teen who tells you that he hates any music that’s popular – because they hate most Americans, except that unlike the painfully hip teen they’re stupid enough to think they can win an election with that attitude.
Either you’re a complete idiot utterly lacking in reading comprehension, or you think Bob Dole was more popular and would have been a better president than Eisenhower.
Anything else you need to know?
BTW, I’m ABO, but the republican establishment gets neither $ nor assistance from me.
The Kids at the Kos and their deadly ilk will try and tear Romney apart on Mormon racism circa 1970. Otherwise there is no GOP “establishment.” They are running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to pluck Latinos and black folks up like the black Heimdall in “Thor” and actually thinking Limbaugh is an ideologue rather than an entertainer. If the GOP nets themselves a President it will be a tribute to Obama’s failure and not anything else. The Dems may very well forfeit the game by not having shown up.
