Mika Brzezinski of Morning Joe criticized Newt Gingrich for telling the OWS crowd to “get a job” right after they “take a bath.” She called his comments “arrogant” and “disgusting.”
In the same comment, Newt Gingrich said the occupy movement is an example of how “the left has collapsed as a moral system in this country.” Of course, Newt is right on. The differences between OWS and the Tea Party movement could not be more distinct.
One movement, OWS, is demanding that the government give them more stuff–free education, free healthcare, free housing etc. They are demanding that the government give them all this stuff by confiscating more money from other citizens.
Mean while, the other movement, the Tea Party, wants the government to simply leave them alone and give them more freedom. They want the government to let them keep more of their own hard earned money. They want to have more direct responsibility for their lives. They want the freedom to succeed or fail, without onerous government intrusion.
Now, which movement is more likely to uplift society and its citizens? Which movement is more likely to produce more responsible citizens? Which movement is more likely to produce more selfless, less greedy individuals? The answer is quite obvious (if you have not been brainwashed by the left).
Overall, he is correct in his view but I wish he would have held his opinion to himself for now. He also said this right after he said he was for the 100%. He should have left it alone in my opinion.
I am glad that Newt said what he said. The days of politicians being able to appeal to both sides of the political divide in the US are over. Are you for even more government control and crippling social programs or for the freedom to succeed or fail on your own hard work or lack there of.
Newt Gingrich is a successful politician. Knows the rules and effective plays in the game,which persons to whom to ally himself e.g. another successful pol. the deranged N. Pelosi, and what to say to the gullible who want to be on the winning side.
This is hardly a cheer. More it’s the best we can do so might as well go with it. Like socalled Democrats who cannot come up with anyone from a country of 300 plus million to carry their standard than the Kennedys,Clintons, Kerrys, Jerry Brown, and of course Obama and their like, the Republicans seem to be stuck with the same persons to carry their flag. Professional politicians by definition members in good standing of the secret brotherhood/fraternity which pledges others like to membership in the brotherhood. Self selecting, self propagating.
What we know about them is they dismiss oaths, private and public,to defend and protect,e,g,the US Constitution when it interferes with their personal ambitions. When they finally have milked the electors they apparently hold in utter contempt, we find them in many ways unworthy of our trust.
It is a genuine tragedy that Americans, the most privileged people in the history of the universe, can find no better than people like Gingrich, Romney, and those of the socalled Democratic Party to represent them to themselves and the world. Are we to suppose that Americans deserve the contempt they get from their professional PARTY politicians?

Mika’s father, Zbigniew Brzezinski, has been responsible for getting us into one foreign policy debacle ever since the Carter era. He is a truly foul individual. His daughter has no qualifications, and it is painfully obvious that she got the job only because of her father and his political connections. Without those connections, Mika would be waiting tables or running the scanner in a supermarket checkout lane, and probably doing it badly.

Why do you use a question as your headline and then give us the answer you know you will get? If you mean “Why I think Newt is correct about the OWS orchestrations?” just say so. You won’t get any argument here.
It’s more than that.
You have to take into consideration the nature of the “demands” as well.
It’s hard to think about the chasm between the two perspectives without coming to the conclusion that some kind of civil conflict is inevitable. It simply isn’t tolerable for half of a society to demand that the other half support them.
Oh brother, the ows thing is Obama’s campaign. The unions and the dems are handing out cash to these people. It’s Obama trying to rev up his base, the beginning of his campaign, the media really wants someone to be killed. They said it on air, all a big game to these people.
Rather than agitating the easily agitated, bypass the hopeless on the left and target thinkers, showing them which taxation, regulation and legal reform incentives get private sector job creation, the engine of a healthy economy, started. Concurrently, use current western european examples of socialism’s failures to reinforce why incentivizing taking rather than making is economically and socially destructive.
Generally good points, but one minor quibble. As another proud supporter of the TEA Party I don’t want the government to give me more freedom. The government cannot give me an unalienable right, it can only seek to take it from me. I just want the government to stop trying to do that. I work tirelessly, and indeed will fight to ensure that it stops.
