North Korea is a beautiful country with a few minor problems. Due to governmental repression and bad weather, there is insufficient food for the people and North Korea has been begging many other countries for food and other relief. She can, however, grow lots of poppies at her political prison farms to make heroin to export for hard currency. Still, according to a global happiness index her people are almost the happiest in the world, second only to those in China.
Some of the gentle souls at Occupy Wall Street apparently chose to credit North Korean sources.
Some of them may have watched this lengthy (27 minute) and inspiring video, posted by a community organizer Communist activist, showing how prosperous, productive, well fed and happy even the little people are in democratic and free North Korea. It “proves” (in a manner similar to their other “proofs”) not only that people are not starving there but that they are actually far better off than the wretches in the United States.
The rest of us must have been grossly misled by those begging the U.N. and the U.S. to send food. South Korea recently agreed to send $6.94 million in aid through the World Health Organization. Obviously, the North has no need for that or any other international humanitarian assistance. The OWS folks who think North Korea is great should obviously leave their horrible U.S. brainwashing behind and move to the happy neverland of North Korea. Or perhaps to Big Rock Candy Mountain.
So there is no need for the U.S. to provide food aid to North Korea. Better we use it here in Amerikkka where everyday millions of children starve. I’m sure those North Koreans, the happiest people on earth, would agree.
Dan – I think it is a capital idea for members of the Occupy crowd to emigrate to North Korea. Indeed, whenever I read about people who would like to impose their “social justice” on the US, I alway recommend they first try North Korea, being it is replete with nothing if not social justice.
I’d be willing to donate for their air fare to move to North Korea but with one stipulation – they have to live there for at least a year. Let them experience a true “workers’ paradise” for a while. Those that survive will likely become quite conservative once they live under the reality of communism.
It is doubtful that they would Larry. As you can see from the videos, these people are unthinking fanatics and probably have more than a touch of mental illness. They are immune to reason and reality.
I fear that these protests will grow and continue until things come to a very nasty head. I am sure that is exactly what the leftist politicians who endorsed them are hoping for; revolution. What they envision as a socialist revolution ( which they also envision themselves winning ) will actually be a civil war, which they will not win.
They might live pretty high on the hog at least for a while. North Korea could get some great propaganda out of their defections and their lives of comparative luxury as wards of the state would make good fodder for the press in the United States. North Korea could arrange for them to make new videos similar to the one in the post. After that, of course, things might not be quite so pleasant for them.
Occulunatics, go! Please, the sooner the better.

We did this once. Back in the 1780′s, after Yorktown. The traitors among us were convinced to leave our shores. I think it worked out rather well.
