Shakeup in the Obama administration, may signal escalation in Libya

Word today is that SecDef Robert Gates is stepping down. If true, this might signal a change in direction in Libya. Recall, Gates recently said that there would be no American boots on the ground in Libya as long as he was in the job. Well, he is apparently leaving the job sooner than expected.

CIA Director Leon Panetta is said to be moving from that post to take over DOD. And in perhaps the most surprising part of the shuffle, Gen. David Petraeus, former head of Central Command and currently the US commander in Afghanistan, will move to take over the CIA.

So, yes, the same general smeared by MoveOn as “General Betray Us” would take over the government agency that, other than DOD, the left hates the most. At the time, then Sen. Barack Obama failed to vote when Congress went on the record condemning that ad.
