Video: Syrian protesters take down "reformer" Assad's statue

This is from Daraa, Syria, March 25th. The statue is actually of Hafez al-Assad, the late father of the current tyrant in Damascus.

The son is every bit the “reformer” that his father was. Why, it was just a few years ago that he “reformed” Lebanon by assassinating its former prime minister, Rafik Hariri. He allows and supports Hezbollah’s operations in southern Lebanon so that they can “reform” Israel with rocket barrages and the occasional abduction.

CNN reports that at least 37 have died in the Daraa protests, killed by Bashar al-Assad’s henchmen, or the Iranian enforcers who are said to be backing him up.

Yet our foolish administration insisted over the weekend that Assad is a “reformer” and that we will not intervene. The administration should heed Sen. Joe Lieberman’s strategic approach to the subject: We may well not intervene in Syria, but it’s worth it if Assad fears that we might.
