What was Mitch McConnell thinking, calling President Obama’s plan to cut $6 billion from this year’s budget “unacceptable and it is indefensible?” That’s nearly two-tenths of one percent, which might be unacceptably high given the continued weakness in the US economy.
Certainly, there are cuts to be made. But they must be made judiciously, or we put the recovery at risk.
