What front page, above-the-fold article greeted Columbus Dispatch (OH) readers in Sunday’s edition? “States’ Workers Under Siege” by Dispatch reporter Jack Torry, which bemoans the efforts of governors in Wisconsin, Indiana, New Jersey, and yes, Ohio, to bring some fiscal sanity to public workers’ pension and health care costs in the face of soaring state budget gaps and underfunded pension funds. And who does Torry quote to challenge the actions of these state officials? Dennis Van Roekel, president of the National Education Association; Chris Redfern, chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party; David Madland, director of the American Worker Project at the “Democratic-leaning” Center for American Progress; and the “left-leaning” Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

A quick Google search of the Dispatch website returned no results for “taxpayers under siege” or “private sector under siege”. Curious…
