There is nothing extraordinarily surprising in the new New York Times report on the ‘Stuxnet’ virus, other than that it may have been tested on centrifuges at Israel’s Dimona complex. Still, the report connects a number of dots, underscoring the common belief that this was a joint US-Israeli operation with some assistance, perhaps, from Germany and Britain. Speaking of Germany, I must give myself a minor pat on the back for exercising my mystery writer muscle some months back and surmising that the German computer giant Siemens was somehow involved in the plot. The extent of what I called The Siemens Connection is not yet clear (if it ever will be) but the Siemens folks were evidently working with our Idaho National Laboratory.
