If you were listening to Geraldo on Sunday night (okay, I apologize), you would have thought the would-be Times Square bomber was either the illegitimate son of Timothy McVeigh or an evangelical minister overdosed on steroids looking for an abortion clinic. Geraldo was practically fulminating at the mouth — it’s a white man, it’s a white man — in nostalgia for the good old days when the true enemy was some evil Ku Kluxer waving his hangman’s noose.

Well, it wasn’t. At least the man currently under arrest, Faisal Shahzad, a Pakistani-American, is no evangelical Christian and wasn’t seeking vengeance against our federal government. I’m willing to bet right now he is a believer in jihad and, if he’s seeking vengeance against anything, it’s Western Civilization — our way of life.

Yet only months after the Ft. Hood massacre, our government and leaders refuse to name our enemy. In fact, as a recent PJTV video reminds us, they are running the other way. Words like “jihad,” “Islamic fascism,” etc. — the very ideologies cited by the 9/11 Commission as the causes of September 11 — have now been expunged from the lexicon of our government and even our military.

Times Square reminds us how dangerously self-destructive that is.  Were it not for our concerned citizenry and smart law enforcement, our civilization would be on its way out. Many of our leaders are evidently ready to hand it over.

Two who are not are Senators Joseph Lieberman and Susan Collins. They deserve our praise and encouragement. They should not stop. That is why in a my PJTV editorial I called for them to expand their government inquiry into the whys and wherefores of this government censorship of Islamic terminology. What people and organizations are instigating this censorship?  And why are they doing it?

How can we begin to defeat this enemy if we are not even willing to name it?

QUICK UPDATE:  An example of the kind of mindset I am talking about when I say our leaders are prepared to hand our civilization to the Islamists is NY’s Mayor Bloomberg:

Bloomberg told Katie Couric he thinks it could have been a domestic terrorist acting alone: “If I had to guess 25 cents, this would be exactly that. Homegrown, or maybe a mentally deranged person, or somebody with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.”

  1. A big AMEN!! Very well said. Now we need to have it rebroadcast / republished in many venues. I will add a linkback to your article on my site. Keep punching! Truth always surfaces no matter how long it takes. God bless you.

“I’m willing to bet right now he is believer in jihad and, if he’s seeking vengeance against anything, it’s Western Civilization – our way of life.”

The jihad has nothing to do with the existence of Israel. We would still be hated merely for our rejection of the faith of Muhammad. This is an existential fight to the death. We will have to jail, if not eradicate the true believers among them. There are no other viable options. They are committed to a nihilistic vision. The arrested man probably regrets being taken alive. He desperately wants to enjoy his fifty-two virgins.

    • Indigo

Has the price for martyrdom gone down?Only fifty two virgins!

      • ~Paules

Yes. Star Trek conventions are not as popular as they once were. It’s starting to get a little lean out there.

  3. 3. Canard

So when Bloomberg said that “it could be anything”, did he include jihad as one of the options?

    • Pedro

No, just people who questioned Obamacare.Bloomberg has to play to the folks on the upper west side.

“The motive remains unclear” states the Mainstream Media.
It’s clear that the Mainstream Media are either stupid (we know this is not true, they are elites who made it into the best universities) or are complicit with Mohammedanism.
I conclude that the Democrats, the Mainstream Media and dick-tator-tot O-bow-Mao are ON THE SIDE OF THE MOHAMMEDANS.

  5. 5. Czar of Defenestration

I almost threw up yesterday listening to the radio.
The classical music station where I live also has “NPR.”
NPR proclaimed that authorities “were able to remove Right Wing extremists” from the list of possible suspects.

    How f***ing magnanimous.

    Defund NPR now.

When they elected Barack Hussein Obama, the people of the United States offered Islam a truce. The offer has been rejected – as any sensible person who has studied the history of Islam knew it would be.

Islam is not merely a religion but a political system that seeks to control every aspect of life. The call to jihad, xenophobia, laws against apostasy, taqiya, lies about their history, gender apartheid and extreme anti-intellectual overreaction to criticism reveal the true nature of Islam. Western civilization will remain in denial about the true nature of Islam until there are more serious attacks. A large minority known as leftists will respond to more attacks with further manifestations of Stockholm Syndrome.

IMHO, we won’t be addressing the realities of Islam until Obama is gone and Iran has used the bomb.

    • wpw

Lefties see their enemy as society based on Judeo-Christian values. They have formed an unholy alliance with Islam to bring down traditional Western society. What they don’t seem to realize is that traditional Western society is the only thing standing between them and annihilation by Muslims. In particular, women and homosexuals (favored leftie interest groups) would be the first under the bus in an Islam-oriented society.

      • David R. Graham

True, except instead of Islam use Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism.

Islam’s ultimate concern is God, the same God also called Brahma Shiva Vishnu, Father Christ Holy Spirit, Jehovah, Krishna, Rama, Sathya Sai Baba, etc. Muslims are religious, just as Hindus, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc., are.

The ultimate concern of the political-correctness/jihad crowd is Mohammed and the Koran and anti-religious ideologies of various sorts. Political correctors and Mohammedans are idolaters.

I have yet to find a Muslim, they are all Mohammedans I see. But I keep trying.

In any case, the distinction is decisive. The name of what we’re seeing is Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism. Therefore that’s the name that should be used to reference it. These personalities are demonic on account of their idolatry, not on account of some religious commitment or faith. They have no faith, that is why they kill.

  7. Our political class will say and do anything to avoid accurately characterizing the force that seeks to destroy us: Islam. Perhaps for some, it’s cowardice, but for others — possibly the majority — it’s the knowledge that a threat such as Islam can be used to acquire greater power over us.

When there’s no objective threat to the United States, our politicians will happily synthesize one. When there is an objective threat, they maneuver to conserve it, while simultaneously denying its significance. The latter is their preference, for a nameless fear — a threat that we cannot help but fear, but are inhibited from naming or studying — creates a politically useful sense of helplessness and passivity.

“Put not your trust in princes.” — Psalm 146.

Yours is the most responsible/intelligent response yet – I’d like to see it gain some attention in the media.

      • Buddy

Don’t count on it! the “media” you speak of is already bought and paid for by the 0bama administration; with few exceptions.

    • David R. Graham

      Again, not Islam, Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism.

There is at least one silver lining in this otherwise Orwellian nightmare. The NYPD, under the excellent stewardship of Police Commissioner Kelly, DOES get it. To wit, he put together the NYPD Counter Terror bureau not long after 9/11/01, knowing full well that waiting for help from the Feds will be waiting too long.

I know how effective they are from up close and personal. How? My brother, Morty Dzikansky, NYPD(recently retired)Homicide Detective, First Grade, was the first one deployed overseas to Tel Aviv through this Counter Terror program. Ladies and gents -it HAS saved many lives, averting major terror attacks, the likes of which rarely reaches the public domain.

Either in Oct 2010, or the beginning of 2011, my brother’s book on this explosive and timely subject is due out by Bannister Books. It will detail in full, that the war being waged against NYC’s citizens,(as well as the rest of the US and the west) is the identical one being waged against Israeli counterparts. It is called, ‘Terrorist Cop’, written in tandem with Robert Slater.

You might want to put it on your ‘to do’ list. Roger, you just might want to review it too.

    • Duerf

“…it HAS saved many lives, averting major terror attacks, the likes of which rarely reaches the public domain”

Could you please clarify: “in N.Y.”

      • Maureen

If a major police department is arresting terrorists in a big city, I’m sure it reduces the terrorism problem for the rest of the US also. Just because terrorists live and plot in NYC, doesn’t mean they don’t do Bad Stuff in my town. In fact, a lot of these yahoos who have been caught elsewhere seem to have connections to New York. So, even as a proud Ohioan, I don’t think we need to add a qualifier to the sentence.

      • Alanr

The NYPD, unlike the Feds, is smart enough not to tell the public every thing so that their methods and contacts aren’t compromised.

    • While they did a great job here the NYPD screwed up royally in the New York/Colorado jihadi plot. Their decision to enlist that Queens Imam source of theirs blew the whole investigation when he betrayed them and tipped off the suspect.

    • dan aronstein

      nonsense.

the nypd and the cia and fbi were asleep at the switch.

the bomb could have gone off killing hundreds.

the only reason he was caught was because the bomb was a dud.

other wise we do not get all the evidence so quickly and he gets to dubai and then pints unknown.

      • Adina Kutnicki, Israel

Dan, you are partially correct. While both an alert citizen and a dud for a bomb averted a major loss of life, it is the CIA/FBI/DHS which should have been alert to a NY citizen traveling to Pakistan etc. The NYPD has no assets in Pakistan, (where the bomber plotted/trained for 5 months) but the CIA surely does.
That being said, the well deserved kudos going to the NYPD has to do with the lightening speed in which its resources are deployed once they are called into play.

The fact that this guy was zeroed in on so quickly is definitely due to their atrategic acumen. The public doesn’t know an iota of what they do 24/7 to keep the NYC public safe, as they rightfully shouldn’t. Don’t let anyone tell you that DHS and the FBI were the lead in this.

I have a very good idea how the NYPD operates, and I know of many instances where the FBI and DHS have only served to screw things up. The terrorist is only in custody because of Kelly’s counter terror troops. Don’t anyone forget it!

      • myth buster

Hundreds? Try ten thousand. You detonate a thermobaric bomb in Times Square, you’ll see casualties in five figures.

  10. 10. Adina Kutnicki, Israel

Correction – it is Barricade Books which is publishing Terrorist Cop.

  11. First we had the underwear bomber on Christmas Day, then we had the Ft. Hood killer, then we had Najibullah Zazi (the failed New York City subway bomber, who most people take for granted or forget about these days), and now you have this guy who tried to blow up an SUV in Times Square. There is that old terrorist saying, “We have to be lucky every time, they have to be lucky only once.” The Obama administration is rapidly running out of its nine lives when it comes to terrorism and the odds favor the terrorists, not us. I really, really, am waiting for the mainstream media to admit that Bush/Cheney was a lot, and I mean A LOT, better at playing this deadly game than team Obama ever could be. Problem is, if the terrorists get lucky in the near future, saying “I told you so” isn’t going to help us that much.

    • LeighB

Four attacks of terror on the post-American President’s watch. Will it take another half-dozen before the MSM starts asking tough questions?

And the guy they just pulled off the plane? Gee, I sure hope they read him his rights and let him “lawyer up”. /sarc off

      • Michael Smith

Will it take another half-dozen before the MSM starts asking tough questions?

        Well, let’s see.

The media has uncritically swallowed — indeed has touted — the administration’s assertions that the solution to excessive debt is to borrow more money — that the deficit can be cut by drastically increasing spending and enacting a vast new government entitlement — and that the way to eliminate the threat posed by insane death-worshipping religious fanatics hell-bent waging nuclear jihad is to appeal to their rationality.

A group mentally stunted enough to accept such contradictions without question is never going to ask tough questions — the now-inevitable next successful terrorist attack here in the U.S., no matter how devastating, will be dismissed as the regretable result of the excesses of the Bush administration’s foreign and domestic policies that created hordes of new enemies for America. It will simply stimulate a fresh new round of Presidential apologizing, boot-licking, appeasement and international diplomacy.

The universal reaction of leftist to the disastrous failures of their policies is always to demand more of their policies. That’s why the left will never give up on its two most cherished ideas — socialism and pacifism — no matter how horrifically such ideas have failed every time they’ve been tried.

    • G.L. Alston

The Obama administration is rapidly running out of its nine lives when it comes to terrorism and the odds favor the terrorists, not us.

It doesn’t really matter which party is in the white house. Odds will always favour terrorists.

Certainly the use of real-time computer examination of internet and cell phone traffic and the like has limited utility.

Outside of deporting all people of a certain religion, what do you propose as the correct preventive measure?

      • I see G.L. Alston, our favorite left-wing troll is back. G.L., you said, “Certainly the use of real-time computer examination of internet and cell phone traffic and the like has limited utility.” Who says? Al Qaeda is terrified of the NSA and our monitoring of cell phone traffic here and abroad. In fact, much communications in Pakistan (where this terrorist was from) is now done by messenger or in person, thereby trying to reduce the use of cell phones for fear of being caught. Perhaps giving expanded powers to the NSA may catch more of these terrorists? But I know, I know, you left-wingers were wetting your pants under the Bush administration over the “Warrentless-wiretaps” issue. Guess Bush was on to something there, hmmmm?

But the bottom line is there is a LOT more the administration can do in fighting terrorists. First, get rid of that sorry excuse for an Attorney General Eric Holder, a pathetic liberal more interested in the rights of terrorists than in protecting the lives of American citizens. He is the same idiot who wanted to hold those civil terrorist trials in New York City, citing that security would not be a problem during the trials. I guess this past incident shows NYC is still a pretty fat target, right? Please, the man should have been fired months ago, especially after the underwear bomber fiasco.

Then there is Guantanamo Bay. Team Obama, stop screaming that you want to close it. Keep it open and state to the world that if you attempt to carry out a terrorist attack against the United States, you will end your days there rotting in the sun. No parole, no hope of going home, just living there forever waiting for your eventual death from old age.

And stop treating this War on Terror as if it were a bank robbery. This IS a war and should be treated as such. If you listen to Janet Napolitano long enough, you’d think there was no such thing as an Islamic terrorist.

Keep going after the camps where these terrorists train and live. The best thing Obama did was maintaining the Predator drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Expand the program. Increase the number of attacks and make it our mission in life not to give these criminals a single day’s rest.

As Bush and Cheney made clear, we must always be on the offensive and not on defense, hoping and praying that a passenger on an airliner will stop an underwear bomber from blowing up the plane or relying on a T-shirt vendor in Times Square for alerting the police that a bomb is about to go off. Find these people BEFORE they strike and kill them. That will be the best way to substantially minimize this threat in the future.

And, G.L., as for you saying, “It doesn’t really matter which party is in the white house. Odds will always favour terrorists,” well then Bush beat the odds. I hope for our sakes Obama will learn to beat those same odds. If not, a lot of Americans will die.

      • G.L. Alston

And, G.L., as for you saying, “It doesn’t really matter which party is in the white house. Odds will always favour terrorists,” well then Bush beat the odds. I hope for our sakes Obama will learn to beat those same odds. If not, a lot of Americans will die.

I don’t think you understood the question. Fancy that.

George Bush (for whom I voted twice) was lucky, just as Obama (who I didn’t vote for) is thus far. (Astonishingly, one needn’t be a far right wing reactionary blowhard to vote GOP.) Bush didn’t “beat” the odds any more than Obama has.

I’ll rephrase this so that you get it.

Like a new computer virus that hasn’t been seen before, the odds of a successful unique exploit are on the side of the exploiter. Always. In this case it was luck the bomb didn’t go off. It could have. The underwear bomber was also unlucky. These were both attempts that could have been successful. There will be other attacks. Sooner or later they will become more successful.

And no, the answer isn’t firing Obama’s administration. He’s not the enemy; he’s a member of a different political party. The people running the administration are all Americans. Terrorist success isn’t based on which political party is in power.

One way or another determined jihadis with enough money and brains in their corner will find a way to cleverly bypass everything. Perhaps as in a couple of the recent thriller novels they sneak in over the southern US border.

Short of deporting muslims, this problem is going to get worse. And no, shooting up the entire middle east doesn’t seem rational either.

        • MarkTheGreat

I love the way liberals expect others to accept these liberal fantasies without any evidence whatsoever.

GL declares that certain electronic techniques are of little value. Based on this naked assertion he then declares that the only reason there were no more attacks after 9/11 was nothing more than Bush getting lucky.

As to Arizona’s bill being profiling, another naked assertion. The fact that many very knowledgeable people have ably refuted this claim is irrelevant.

        • Like I said before in another post, G.L., if you voted for Bush, then I’m Franklin Roosevelt. Please, if you’re going to be a left-wing troll, then at least be honest about it. It’s the least you can do for your employers at MoveOn.org.

I think it’s interesting, though, that you claim, “And no, the answer isn’t firing Obama’s administration. He’s not the enemy; he’s a member of a different political party. The people running the administration are all Americans. Terrorist success isn’t based on which political party is in power.” You’re kidding, right? Nobody said Eric Holder or Janet Napolitano are not Americans, they are just too incompetent to do the jobs they have been given. Terrorist success isn’t based on which political party is in power, but it IS based on who the top executive is and how he’s running the government. Obama has never, ever, run anything in his life and his inexperience is showing, big time. He could have picked much more effective democrats to run DOJ or Homeland Security, people with more experience and a lot more brains.

But what’s kind of funny is that it seems like you’re laying the groundwork for failure here. You just know a major attack is coming and don’t want anyone to think it’s Obama’s (or the people he chose) fault. After all, nobody can stop terrorists, right? So when the big one hits, we should just understand that it was inevitable.

What a bunch of junk. I guess you forgot all of the hate-filled criticism Bush received after 9/11. What did he know and when did he know it? Who was to blame? Let’s set up a commission and see who was at fault, right? Let’s get everyone on MSNBC, NBC, and the far left to categorically state that Bush knew well before hand what was going to happen and was too inept to stop it. Nobody seemed to cut Bush ANY slack, even though he was in office only eight months before the attack took place. Yet Bush learned FAST after 9/11 on how to go after these animals and he succeeded in preventing another major attack.

Well, Obama does NOT get a pass. He wanted the job, now he has the responsiblity to go after these bums and kill them before they kill us. He has been in office over a year now and it has been almost 9 years since 9/11. He knows what has to be done and how to do it. The question is, does he have the will and the experience to do it?

And, unlike what you said, nobody has to “shoot up” the entire Middle East. Go after the terrorist camps, go after their safe houses, go after their bank accounts, go after anybody that does business with them. Keep the pressure on them, hammer them, go after them, never let up. That is what war, a real war, is all about. Nothing is pre-ordained. But we WILL suffer a major attack if we all had a defeatist attitude like yours. Or is it you just want Obama to receive as little blame as possible when another attack comes?

          • MarkTheGreat

Hoyer claimed today that the Democrats have been much more successful at stoping terrorism than Bush was.
The reason he gave was that they are concentrating on Afghanistan more than Bush did.

I seem to recall Hoyer and the other Democrats screaming bloody murder everytime Bush used a Hellfire missile to knock off a few terrorists.

        • G.L. Alston

Like I said before in another post, G.L., if you voted for Bush, then I’m Franklin Roosevelt.

You’re so married to your ideology that the concept people can vote GOP and disagree with you isn’t even possible to you. That’s sad.

Terrorist success isn’t based on which political party is in power, but it IS based on who the top executive is and how he’s running the government.

The evidence at hand says otherwise, doesn’t it?

The mechanisms Bush put in place to prevent what attacks it could were a) left in place, and b) unable to prevent the SUV from blowing up. THEY DID NOT WORK. The SUV didn’t blow up ONLY because the bomb was a dud.

          • MarkTheGreat

The evidence at hand shows nothing of the kind.
            1) The Bush systems may or may not still be in place.
            2) The people running the systems are not the same.
            3) The people analyzing the data retrieved by the systems are not the same.

If there is anyone who has been blinded by ideology, it is you, as you prove almost every time you post.

          • Just Passing Through

Backing up to your first question in this mini-thread:

‘Outside of deporting all people of a certain religion, what do you propose as the correct preventive measure?’

The answer is obvious. I believe that the prior administration understood the answer, but was hobbled in implementing it by people with the mindset that it was to their advantage to do so. The current administration is made up of people with that same mindset.

The answer? You make the reaction to and consequences of terrorist acts against America and Americans so inevitable, so immediate, so dire, and most importantly so implacable, that no individual or terrorist organization or supporter sees any short term, long term, or subsidiary benefit in it.

You are a foreign national complicit in a terrorist act against America or Americans, successful or not, directly involved or not, and we catch you, you get a military tribunal and if found guilty, you die. You are a US citizens complicit in and with connections to foreign nationals also complicit in a terrorist act against America or Americans, successful or not, directly involved or not, and we catch you, you are tried for treason and if found guilty, you die. You are a US citizen complicit in a terrorist act against America or Americans, successful or not, directly involved or not, where there is loss of life and we catch you, you are tried for domestic terrorism with loss of life and if found guilty, you die. You are a US citizen complicit in a terrorist act against America or Americans, successful or not, directly involved or not, where there is no loss of life and we catch you, you are tried for domestic terrorism and if found guilty, you live your life out in prison.

      • David R. Graham

G.L., that’s very easy, in priority order:

1- remove Family Saud from the “throne” of Arabia Deserta. They’re usurpers, a family of thieves and brigands. Look at their fruits. Restore the Hashemites to stewardship of Mecca.

2- offer every cleric in Arabia Deserta a choice: conversion to Islam, a genuine religion, or death

3- pull USA asserts out of Afghanistan and firebomb every poppy field there, and keep firebombing them until poppies aren’t grown

4- remove Family Asad from the “throne” of Syria. They too are usurpers, a family of treachery and deceit. Restore the Hashemites or whomever they designate.

5- Destroy Hizbollah, kill its leadership, turn Israel loose on Hamas, then finally, remove and eliminate the Ayatollahs in Iran and restore the country to Baha’i leadership through The Universal House of Justice.

Nothing. That should do it. And in the end it will
be the only thing that will work.

This has bee jihad since day one. Islam is not a nice religion. Sorry folks but if your willing to kill someone cuz they named a teddy bear mohammed etc, you are NOT a peacful religion. The obama admin and the left continually distort ans deny the facts. Obama claimed to be an ‘expert’ on muslims. He should have known then that muslims respect strength. they hated bush but they respected him over obama any day of the week. When obama began apologizing and kissing their butts, it sent the clear signal that obama is weak and now is the best time for attacks. the only people who think azz kissing and weal willed cowardice is an attribute is Obama and his progressive horde!

Mayor Bloomberg of NYC and Mayor Daley of Chicago are two Politically Correct peas in a pod.

Recall that Daley blamed the Fort Hood massacre on “America’s love of guns”!

  14. 14. lc

In some ways its like what the philosopher said, “we have met the enemy and he is us.”

The call of the muzzein may be hauntingly beautiful, but to leave that as the driver of our engagement (as it sometimes seems) is a grave error.

  15. 15. eon

The fact that the bomber was in fact a Pakistani national, naturalized U.S. citizen, and most likely Taliban member or at least fellow traveler must be causing some heartburn at the White House. I’m sure The One was all set to make a big speech about “domestic terrorism”, “right-wing militias”, etc., with Interplanet Janet Napolitano in the background.

No doubt right now all of the above are very unhappy with Mr. Shahzad for spoiling their “teachable moment”. (“What do you mean, he’s not a member of the Christian Coalition? How dare he be part of a group we’re reaching out to! This is conflicting with our narrative, d*****t!”)

Reality once more hits The One and his minions in the face like a very large fish-slap. I wait with bated breath for the splash when they land in the canal.

At the same time, Mayor Bloomberg has somehow managed to make himself look even more foolish than usual- and I would have said that was almost impossible.

As for “Geraldo”, he hasn’t looked this “professional” since… oh, when he opened Al Capone’s “secret vault”. (If I believed in ghosts, I’d say Snorky was having a big laugh at his expense over this one, too.)

Bloomberg has made noises about switching parties (once more), by going back to the Democrats after bailing out to join the GOP years ago. I think he should, and Geraldo should join him. The latter could always succeed Robert “Foot-in-Mouth” Gibbs as White House Press Secretary- the ideal place for him.

Combined with the Self-Exalted One, the result would be a moronic convergence of truly Biblical proportions. The “progressives” deserve no better.

You don’t say,Roger, “It’s the jihad, stupid”!! Are you some kind of Islamophobe oe something??? Obviously, you were absent from the PC class of this administration!! tch, tch,.. The PC police is looking for you and other truants who missed the class!!!

    • Tonya

Politically Correct is so yesterday, just like “Global Warming”. The earth is in a cooling phase just like our attitudes about “Politically Correct”! Get with the program. It is the seventies all over again.

  17. 17. Brett

Let’s get one thing clear: Arabs, Jews, Persians, many Pakistanis and Indians are white. Lately the press has been using restricting the use of the term white to Northern Europeans. An interesting discrimination.

    • AZdude

Indeed. Who are the real racists? The left, the stinking libs who make everything about race.

  18. 18. Harvard Yard Conservative

In news broadcasts shortly after the discovery of the car bomb, CNN’s Don Lemon was pondering whether the car bomb was the work of “international terrorism”. Incredible.

    • Erik Larsen

Last night Don Lemon asked rhetorically “why would an American do this?”. I guess he was wondering – especially if they weren’t a member of the Tea Party?

  19. 19. MarkD

I’m sure a full, public apology will not be forthcoming anytime soon. That’s why Geraldo and Bloomberg are as credible as Chris Matthews, Olbermann and all the other professional bigots.

    They’ve earned my disregard.

  20. 20. Banjo

Political correctness, a virus first identified during Stalin’s murderous tyranny, infected the academy in this country twenty years later. The professoriate passed it on to a generation of students who then carried it to the highest levels of government and Corporate America. It blinds the eye and silences the tongue. It robs the will and steals a nation’s courage. It leads to civilizational surrender and then death. We’ve entered the end stage with paralysis beginning to spread.

    • David R. Graham

Banjo, possibly “entered the end stage …” It’s also possible that we’re through it and looking about the other side, scrutinizing the landscape from a condition of full paralysis, pondering the question, “What is, what next?”

I’m inclined to think it’s the latter, but that’s because I prefer to think about actualities instead of potentialities.

As I see it, 911 was a victory lap, not an attack. It was a declaration that Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism had defeated Western Civilization (a politically correct euphemism for the Latin Church). Those flights were by way of a little celebratory jubilation.

Electing a protector and proponent of Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism as chief executive of “Western Civilization” (a/k/a the USA) seven years after 911 was another victory lap, and they keep doing new ones. And that protector/proponent acts in utter impunity, and why, because he knows Afro-Mohammedan Imperialists have his back, have controlled the USA since before 2001 and make his tenure permanently secure. That’s why his nose is always in the air. He knows it can be, nothing can or ever will threaten his position or his person.

All of this is saying, as I see it, that the paralysis of which you speak governed at least by 1991 and ever since and that our actual condition since before 2001 has been one of dhimmitude.

Not even the Pentagon, FBI or CIA now can name the enemy, the reason being that representatives of the enemy sit in those agencies or are called by their senior leaders on every matter of political import and the counsel of those representatives of the enemy — Afro-Mohammedan Imperialists — governs policy and operations conducted by those agencies. They can’t move without consulting CAIR or higher.

US Armed Forces are not fighting terrorists, they are working for them.

(What kind of “info” is this Times Square “bomber” spilling, after all — just what he was prepped to spill? And what actionable intel is coming out of his interrogation when his interrogators assert they do not know his motivation? And because he is in a legal rather than a military condition, nothing he says can be used in evidence against him or outside a courtroom. Very convenient for Afro-Mohammedan Imperialists.)

Thus, as I see it, we are examining what it feels like to live a paralyzed existence as dhimmis. I think that condition is a fait accompli, an actuality, not a potentiality. USA citizens and residents are all dhimmis now, have been effectively since before 2001. Now we know it. That’s all that’s new.

We woke up with the house full of guns muzzles at us, and there’s no one outside the house or in it pointing muzzles at the bearers of those muzzles. Paralysis.

  21. 21. Thomas_L.....

Geraldo’s a moron. Not the only one though. Sadly, certain members of our society would have been thrilled if it had have been a “Tea Party terrorist” or even someone they could somehow attach to the movement. That is, anyone white-ish. I believe they were praying for it to be so. I’m not sure who they pray to, however. It’s the jihad stupids!

    • clear mind

There is no greater racist in the media than Heraldo… he makes Al Sharpton pale in comparison… can’t bear his rants when he comes on any program as his rhetoric reminds me of ranting fools in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest… he needs to get on his sailboat and sail into the moonset…

  22. 22. TS Alfabet

Here is a relatively easy way to determine how we treat people like Shahzad: if they have a connection with the Islamofascists abroad, then they are illegal combatants to be treated as such at Club Gitmo including enhanced interrogation (if they are not U.S. citizens), or (if a U.S. citizen) then charged under the U.S. laws for treason and espionage in a time of war and treated as such. If we cannot show any international connections, then they should be treated as criminals and given the harshest punishment allowed under the laws on the books.

In the case of Shahzad, he appears to be a U.S. citizen with ties to the enemy abroad, so it’s treason and espionage treatment for him.

    • Fred Beloit

Just so, TF. It’s funny that Holder with all the great legal minds in the [in]Justice Department can’t come up with a policy as clear and correct as you have presented here.

  23. 23. subrot0

What amazes me is that they were able to get to this guy by tracking his disposable cell phone. In Bush’s day this would be Big Brother at its finest. When the Obama Administration uses this means of intelligence to track the man down its no big deal at all.

Where’s the anger, the outrage, the howls of madness by the press and the people for using such dastardly means to track the man down?

  24. 24. Duerf

The article, and comments currently posted 1-13, I believe are right on

We start winning by not buying any mid east oil and embargo all food, oil, and steel to/from Iran, Saudi, Syria et al (embargo by land, sea, and air: no phones, no lights, no internet)…Just like we did Japan in June 1940.

Domestically produced cellulose ethanol equals: full employment in the USA, balanced trade deficit, cut off of funding for terrorist; set the minimum price of fuel at the pump at $1.75/gal to keep monopoly OPEC from lowering the price long enough to rust out our stills.

Yes, the myriad of invalid objections to ethanol..

And yes, I built a distillery and converted my car to “ethanol only” by 1984.

How much energy is needed to get a gallon of gasoline? How many war ships and dead soldiers? How much energy is the ultimate ethanol canard; if I get 1 billion BTUs for free and make a gallon of ethanol that will run a car; it is the cost of BTUs; and transferring BTUs to a high and better use. How many dead army men per gallon of gas is a much better question; how many dead people from suicide bombers per gallon of gas, now that is the question. How many BTUs to clean up the Gulf..

In terms of canard: suffice to say all the GM, Ford, And Toyotas manufactured in Brazil come off the assembly line running on ETHANOL/ not gasoline/not gasohol!

    • MarkTheGreat

Not buying ME oil only works if the entire world agrees to go along. Otherwise theonly thing that changes is who buys from whom. The total amount sold by the Arabs doesn’t drop. It’s just sold to new customers.

As for ethanol, there isn’t enough farm land in the US to grow enough ethanol to run all of our cars. Beyond that, it takes more energy to make a gallon of ethanol than is in a gallon of ethanol.

      • Duerf

Off the “Mark, notgreat” invalid objections/canards and with such arrogance.

I built a distillery and converted my car to ethanol. I am an expert…your BTU canard is rubbish and you did not read my post…

The rest of your comments are equally off the wall…clearly you are not interested in facts…

Perhaps try and think about what foolishness you wrote…or maybe you just wish to pretend you are an oil company exec…

About which you know nothing, best to keep quiet
        …OK explain cellulose ethanol.

What happens to world demand and oil prices when we/industialized world do not use crude/gas. What do oil producing countries use for terrorism money when oil is $6/BBL cause everyone uses home grown cellulose ethanol…

        • robotech master

To Duerf this isn’t one of your pro-eco terrorist broads where you can spill your propaganda freely… ethanol is a joke and can never be used for anything in its current state.

If ethanol was as viable as you wish it to be then farmers would use it in their on farm equipment… they don’t. In fact all ethanol production in the US is insanely subsidized and even with that most compines recently went out of business because they can’t complete unless the price of gas gets to 4 dollars…. Now ppl like you may not have a problem with 5-8 dollars per a gallon of gas but most of in the real world don’t like it when even starts getting close to 3 dollars per gallon.

In 2008 we used roughly 3 Billion BARRELS of gas….(not including diesel). In 2008 we produced 600,000 barrels per day of ethanol or roughly 219 Million barrels per year using roughly 3.2% of our current total farm land or roughly 11 million hectors of farm land. To just replace gas you’d need to roughly increase production by 14x…. that would roughly come out to 41% of total farm land at roughly 154 million hectors of land… and that of course assumes prefect harvests all around… realistically your likely need to push that number well into the 60%+ range of total farm land in order to be safe and build stock piles… O thats right you need to stockpile fuel… lets not forget that ethanol is one of the hardest fuels to stockpile and since its heavily based on the growing season you’d need

          1. Massive stockpiles in cause of crop failures due to weather or other events.
          2. Massive stockpiles because you only produce alot of ethanol over a very small harvest period.

This means we would be required to have huge storage areas which of course is never factored into the costs because then the price would skyrocket. Ethanol is a pipe dream by ppl who are complete devoid of reality and live in some al gore induced fantasy that somehow the world never changes and their never a natural disaster and a host of other fantasy beliefs. When the ethanol industry can support itself then ppl will start to take it at face value right now it can’t even stay afloat with huge government funding.

I’ll also point out to you we once had a “green” fuel system a long time ago… they were called horses… Maybe you should do some research on how well that system worked out when ppl were required to grow huge amounts of horse fuel instead of food…

As to you wonderful strawman about middleeat terrorists(not that your much different from them)…

You do understand that the US has huge amounts of oil, coal, natural gas which means that we don’t need to change off of oil we only need to use our own resources…. This BS myth that somehow changing to ethanol is to fight “terrorism” is a complete joke. We could in less then 5 years stop importing oil from the middle east if eco-terrorists such as yourself stop blocking drilling, mining and building in the US.

Right now it projected that the US alone has over 200 years of oil reserves and that 70 years is based on growth projections… not non-growth projection like “green fuels” on based on. With coal to oil and natural gas the US is set for at least 200+ years more then enough time to get a new system thats not based on propaganda fantasy numbers such as ethanol is. Hell in 200 years they may get solar working as a viable energy source.

          • MarkTheGreat

The best farmland is already being used. (For proof of this just do a thought experiment. Which land would a farmer idle first, his best producing land, or his worst producing land?)
Increasing output by 41% would entail activating land that is inferior to today’s farmland. So the increase in total farmland would be a lot greater than 41%.

        • MarkTheGreat

My my, these fantasists get violent when confronted with facts.

I got news for you. I never said it was impossible to convert cellulose to ethanol.
I said it was a waste of time, then I detailed why.

      Non-sequitur??

Use of ethanol to reduce imports of Middle-East oil is completely off the topic here. The discussion is about willful ignorance to the nature of the jihadist enemy.

This is so far off-topic that it’s almost on-topic again by being a great example of willful ignorance about the nature of the jihadist enemy!

Q: Who is it that repeatedly attempts to attack and kill Americans on our own soil?
      A: Buy ethanol!!

      • Duerf

article says: “How can we begin to defeat this enemy…res ispa…

        • MarkTheGreat

Doing stupid things that will destroy our economy is the best way to defeat the enemy?

    • G.L. Alston

It wouldn’t matter if we never bought a drop of oil from the middle east since this isn’t the nature of how/why jihadis operate.

The US exports cultural WMD: ipods, Britney Spears, blue jeans, and coca cola — just to name a few. This is what the jihadis are inflamed about: the pre-eminence of the western world (and in particular the US.) Even if the US fleets stayed in port, the jihadis would come after us.

Ethanol isn’t the answer to this problem, and frankly, the suggestion that it could even be a factor sounds cowardly. We are the United States, and we’ll conduct business around the planet as we damn well please.

      • Duerf

  25. 25. Dave in Dallas

    #12 Brett,

their use of ‘white’ to describe the erstwhile suspect was clearly an attempt to say, without saying outright, “NOT A MUSLIM”.

I think they knew the shirt-changing guy was not the actual suspect, and put out the video just to ‘prove to them’ that we were not automatically blaming a muslim.

Which, of course, turns out to be the guy who did it. A muslim. Jihadi. TERRORIST. Pakistani. Fundamentalist. MUSLIMUSLIMUSLIMUSLIM.

I wouldn’t be surprised if, under “net neutrality”, this comment would be censored by Obama.

  26. 26. DaveT

Left liberals so badly need someone to demagogue and give cover to their destructive agenda that they are literally praying for an act of domestic terror committed by a white male. It does not even need to be a conservative – they will just assign them to the conservative cause as they did the nut who flew the plane into the government offices in Texas. Even more bizarre is that they don’t realize how transparent their malevolent projections really are.

  27. 27. kcom

Major Hassan shouts “Allahu Akbar” and starts shooting fellow soldiers

Mohammed Zazi comes from Afghanistan and tries to blow up the New York subway

The undie bomber from Nigeria trains in Yemen and tries to destroy a plane flying into Detroit

(All this in the last year. Not to mention the 9/11 plotters who murdered 3000 Americans in 2001 and the World Trade Center bombers who murdered 6 in 1993.)

And what do Mayor Bloomberg and many political commentators want to do? They want to focus like a laser beam on the real problem – health care opponents. No reason to get distracted by Islamic Jihadists who have a long history of bombing, killing and maiming when you can get political mileage out of tarring and feathering a group that has ZERO record of political violence. ZERO.

What is wrong with these people and why do voters even consider electing them? If you don’t know who the enemy is how can you possibly defend against him?

    • Michael Smith

They want to focus like a laser beam on the real problem – health care opponents.

Exactly. And they think the American people are stupid enough to buy into that. Well, as someone here reminded me the other day, polls show almost half of us are indeed that stupid.

  28. 28. Dave in Dallas

    #18 duerf

Ethanol takes away resources from food production. Corn prices are on the rise, as are prices for chicken, beef and so forth, fed on corn. Other crops are facing rising prices because fields are being diverted for corn production because of GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES ON ETHANOL.

We are paying more taxes so that our tax dollars can be used to cause our food prices to rise.

This is not a canard. This is a death spiral for economies.

Ethanol, from corn growth to final distillation, produces more ‘greenhouse gas’ and other nasty pollutants than does the petroleum it proposes to replace. It is less energy efficient, meaning it takes more of it to produce the same ‘push’ against the piston of an internal combustion engine. And car parts CORRODE with ethanol around, but do not with gasoline.

Ethanol is only the energy solution if you discount the need for food. And ‘solution’ begs the question, solution to what? Not ‘global warming’. Not ‘cheaper energy’. And if we drilled our own domestic oil supply we’d drop the price of oil due to ABUNDANCE OF SUPPLY and energy would be cheaper than ever. Not to mention we’d all still be able to eat. Cheap energy would reduce food prices by cutting distribution costs.

ethanol is the answer for you. Not for the world. Brazil will be buying food from other countries while it diverts its food resources to fuel production. “renewable” maybe, but FOOD needs to be renewable too.

    • Tennwriter

      Dave,
I agree with you that drilling is a better solution than ethanol, but thats not exactly the question. The question Duerf answers is this: Is ethanol a better solution than Mid-East Oil?

I think so. Ideally, of course, we drill, baby, drill, and build lots of nuke facilities.

      • Keith

The original post specifically said “cellulose alcohol”. I think that would be cellulosic, which is not made from corn or any other food product as far as I know.

        • MarkTheGreat

It takes even more energy to get less ethanol from cellulose than it does from corn.
Which makes it both more expensive and an even bigger energy loss.

          • Duerf

            Markthefool:

            A) no it does not…

            B) who cares…maybe one gets a billion BTUs for free and makes ethanol…doesnt matter how many, only how much…and it currently takes more BTUs to make gasolin than ethanol…

            C) MTfool is a brainwashed…that talks till he believes his own BS…and facts do not bother him…ever made ethanol and run your car on ethanol. I have…

Every study ever done says it does.
But Duerf, with his backyard still says it doesn’t.

OK, you’ve managed to convince yourself.

      • MarkTheGreat

I’ll believe ethanol is a solution when they manage to survive without huge govt subsidies.

    • Duerf

I really appreciate your invalid objections and canards. Obviously you neither read my post (currently #24) nor understood it, as your post clearly demonstrates and unfortunately that makes you as big a problem and obstacle to peace as…

      • MarkTheGreat

The only reason why people don’t agree with you is because they just aren’t smart enough to understand you.

        Got it.

    • David

Totally agree with you on ethanol. Add to the fact that you can’t store the junk or transport it as it disolves everything. There is not enough corn in the world to supply our energy needs with this stuff. There is nothing wrong with oil and plenty of it if we are allowed to drill.

  29. 29. Poor Citizen

The way this latest terror attempt was handled reflects great credit on our law enforcement officials and folks wearing the uniform. Hundreds have been hunted down preventing attacts across the world but the exact amount of plots uncovered and stopped may never be known. After all isn’t that what Muffington Post tells you?

      • David R. Graham

    @18 Duerf:

One of the projects I have my AP Chemistry student calculate is the energy content of various fuels on a VOLUME basis (tech note – we use change in enthalpy in a complete combustion reaction – air is free!).

Conclusions: For Gawd’s Sake, don’t fly in a jet that uses any major amount of alcohol in its fuel mixture. Hydrocarbons (aka jet fuel) are the ONLY liquid that has high enough energy content for modern airplanes.

Another sad fact…”Fuel Mileage” will drop like a stone as alcohol content increases. You could probably not notice the change up to about 10% volume alcohol, but you won’t zip up that long grade quite as fast. Noticeable degradation in performance would become evident at about 25% vol ethyl alcohol…pings, hesitations, and coughs would become common.

Since these calculations are based on state functions in thermodynamics, you can’t get around these limitations. The culprit is the oxygen atom found in alcohols. I don’t want to go any deeper into this subject here, since a math background not found outside calculus is necessary to follow the complete argument.

    Sad, but true…

    • Duerf

I really appreciate your invalid objections/canards about ethanol…and straight from a chemistry lab! At least you appear to have read my post and understood it…

I, of course, have real live data from a real live distillery that I bought and paid for and built myself: by 1984. I have real world data from my real live car that I personally converted to ethanol by 1984… (I claimed no data on airplanes as I have none)

All of your conclusions on automobile performance do/did not exist on my GM car during years of driving on roads in the “real” world.

Since my calculations are/were based on the actual cost of production for ethanol fuel and on actual gas miles per gallon experience running my car on the ethanol that I manufactured in my distillery (no gas) …I can conclusively and positively state that ethanol is far more cost effective to use than gasoline priced above .75/cents per gallon…Yes, I have years of data you have a lab!

But that is without factoring in the additional benefits of ethanol: full employment in the USA from a new ethanol industry, balanced trade deficit because we do not send 9 million/BBL per day at $85/BBL (750 million/day) to bad people that hate us, cleaner burning (just light a thimble full of gas and one thimble full of ethanol: what you see is what did not burn: pollution, energy independent… and yes today: cellulose derived…not from food…

And did you forget to add the BTUs to the gasoline equation for armies, navies, wars, and Gulf of Mexico clean up…

And did you forget that Brazil is energy independent on ethanol…so I guess it is back to the drawing board for: Good Ole Char lie…

      • Thomas_L.....

Oh for crying out loud! If it’ll make you happy, it’s the jihad and the lack of ethanol in Deurfus’s world that is the problem, stupid. Exactly how using more ethanol prevents the jihad that has been going on since we were all on foot or horseback is a little unclear, however.

      • MarkTheGreat

If you can find a way to get people to donate all of the material needed to build an ethanol plant, plus convince all the people who work there to do so for without pay, then maybe your claims ethanol being cost effective might make sense.

Until then people who have studied the subject out here in the real world have found that ethanol is a bad solution that costs too much.

        • Duerf

I ran an ethanol plant and produced ethanol for under .75 cents a gallon by 1984…just the facts mam…

          • Akatsukami

So why aren’t you the trillionaire savior of the Western world?

          • MarkTheGreat

            1) 1984 dollars
            2) Your “plant” is a small still in your back yard.
            3) You only included the cost of the raw materials, not the cost of the plant or your labor.

Geez, the Emirates flight had left the gate and was headed for the runway…?

Shazad apparently made a lot of mistakes, including an incredible amount of information left behind in the vehicle that didn’t blow up. From Richard Reid to Abumutallab to Shahzad, apparently we have their own…stupidity…going for us.

The joint FBI/NYPD task forces (the NYPD is, reportedly, really on top of this stuff) appear to have moved with great speed & determination.

America, under Bill Clinton, fought on the side of Islamic Jihad in the Balkans.

America, under George W. Bush, was the first nation to diplomatically recognize “Kosovo”, the newly minted Muslim break-away “republic”, or more accurately, Jihad mini-state on the doorstep of Europe.

America jumped at the opportunity to fight for Jihad in the Balkans, and we nearly tripped over ourselves in our abased rush to lend legitimacy to our newly hatched Jihadi state. This was true whether America was under Democratic or a Republican administration. This is the same mentality driving the serial moron, anti-white and illegal alien apologist Geraldo Rivera.

Finally, Kosovo is filled with millions of white European-looking Muslims. Now that the West has admitted millions of enemy Muslims into our midst, there will be a steady rise in the number of moronic ” typical white people” ( at least as far as race mongers like Geraldo are concerned), as the eternal Jihad of the Muslims progresses.

It is only a matter of time before non-ethnic Muslims begin to contribute to their great Jihad against the West. The morons on the right (such as GWB) infected by the self-loathing inspired by the Marxian Left, and those on the Left who have such trouble imaging the Jihad in any terms other than victimized brown-skinned people lashing out against their white European colonialist oppressors, these morons will have great difficulty in recognizing that Jihad is primarily IDEOLOGICAL, driven by the tenets of Islam as much as the Arab racist supremacism deeply embedded in the Muslim creed. These moronic Westerners abet the Muslim Jihad with their catastrophic ignorance stretching at least as far back as the wildly misguided Clinton administration and their Wesley Clark lead debacle in the Balkans.

Mayor Bloomingidiotberg is more interested in fighting global warming, trans-fat and salt than he is in fighting terrorism. Indeed, he once said, “Global Warming is worse than terrorism”. Of all people, don’t you think this mayor would know who wants to bomb this city and create mass murder and mayhem? It was MUSLIM TERRORISTS who attacked us in 2/93 and 9/01, MUSLIM TERRORISTS tried to bomb the subways and the Brooklyn Bridge; the odds are that MUSLIM TERRORISTS would be involved in NYC car bombings! But nooooo, it is more likely a white tea partier who hates Obamacare, yeah, that’s the ticket. After hearing the mayor say that, I give up all hope of any of our leaders looking out for our safety. This recent terror attack was averted by pure luck due to a poorly made car bomb.

REmember how the MSM came out immediately with the info of a “white guy taking his shirt off” who was the most likely suspect? The MSM is licking their chops at the thought of a “white militia” pulling off an attack. When that happens, you will see the government crack down hard on conservative dissent and talk radio. But if a mushroom cloud were to go off over a US city and Osama himself was seen with the trigger, we will be told “not to jump to conclusions and blame Muslims.”

I know the terrorists claim to be doing “Jihad” but we should call it for what it is, “Hirabah” — every time, thereby naming the terrorists for the liars they are. http://smallwarsjournal.com/blog/2009/04/words-are-important/

” “Hirabah” is much the better term when it comes to the activities of AQ and other terror groups.
According to Dr. Robert D. Crane, an advisor to the Center for Understanding Islam, “hirabah refers to public terrorism in a war against society and civilization. In legal terminology it is defined as “spreading mischief in the land,” but its precise meaning, as defined by Professor Khalid Abou el Fadl, is “killing by stealth and targeting a defenseless victim in a way intended to cause terror in society.” This is the Islamic definition of terrorism. It is the very opposite of jihad”. “

  51. 51. valerie

    Vinny b #

Take your slander elsewhere. You are accusing George Bush of doing what BO said he would do, and has actually taken steps to do. As for your alleged concerns about a fair trial, those of us who actually have followed the news know that Zacarias Moussaoui said this after his trial: “I now see that it is possible that I can receive a fair trial even with Americans as jurors.”

    shame on you.

  52. 52. Ratatosk

I agree with the sentiment… this is a war with Islamic extremists and we should identify it as such.

HOWEVER, the term ‘islamofascist’ is a complete load of bullocks. First, its a made up blogosphere term and shouldn’t be in government documents. Second, its a poor term for what these enemies are. We might as well call them Islamonazis or Islamocommies, for all the value that the term provides… its just ‘islamo’ in from of a term that we generally hold in contempt.

Fascism, though is a specific term related to a specific political system/view… it shares little with the enemy we face. A term like “Islamic Extremist” or “Islamic Terrorist” should absolutely be used because they are concise and describe the the enemy correctly. These people use terrorism to support their extreme ideology and thus both terms are applicable. Political correctness should not cause us to white wash the enemy… But, slang and epithet shouldn’t be used, just because they sound villainous.

And in the same vein, I would agree with valerie above on the topic of Jihad… it sounds good, but its not correct. Let’s name the enemy, not just attach names to the enemy.

    • Peter

Islamofascism is a better descriptor than you give credit.

“Fascism” is more than just a pejorative and describes the goals of political Islam quite well. Fascism is a form of totalitarian government that allows for private ownership of the means of production. That is, citizens still own companies, factories, and their homes, but the use of these means of production is entirely governed by the political leadership.

This is precisely the setup we see in countries like Iran where the Islamic clerics have taken control of all government functions and rule people and business in a Fascist manner.

      • Ratatosk

Yes, and Iran can be considered a fascist regime. If you want to use slang, that’s fine… it simply has no place in official documents and the news. Islamic Terrorist suit just fine, and its accurate to boot.

Being upset that “Islamofascist” isn’t in official discussion on the topic is like being upset that “wetback” isn’t used in immigration discussions or that “gook” wasn’t used by the President a couple decades ago to describe the enemy. They’re great terms for emotion, but bad for politics.

        • Lisa

You may be missing the point here. I just viewed the video at the link and there seem to be many forms of Islamic Terminology that are now censored from government documents. I don’t believe Roger was meaning to isolate the word fascism.

  53. 53. Banjo

Vinny B is an good example of the brain rot that sets in when the political correctness microbe enters the system. The man refuses to believe his lying eyes.

    • Trainwreck

Takuan Seiyo has a name for the effect of the PC/multiculti virus on the brains of people like Vinny B: spongiform diversititis. Unfortunately, it infects the highest levels of our government and military. Notice how he refers to this terrorist as a “kid.” Such people will pooh-pooh Islamic terror until the unthinkable happens, then ache over how this conflicts with “true Islam” and decry the “racist backlash” against Muslims while the dead bodies are still warm. Rampant descrimination against Muslims? HA! The Fort Hood “soldier of Allah” was promoted despite numerous warning signs of his anti-american jihadist philosophy. As the army chief of staff said, “loss of army diversity would be a greater tragedy” than murdered soldiers.
Bush did everything in his power to extol Islam as the “religion of peace,” so don’t give me the BS about BUsh hating Muslims. At Gitmo, you get access to terror-lovin’ liberal lawyers, and a fresh Koran given to you by a soldier handling that book with white gloves, lest it be contaminated with infidel sweat.
The only “jumping to conclusions” I saw in this whole failed NYC bombing was the rush to judgment of a white man taking his shirt off, and of tea party activists opposed to Obamacare. Where is the apology from the MSM and Bloopberg to these parties offended by THAT rush to judgment?

  54. 54. tanstaafl

Radical Muslims themselves constantly speak of a Muslim’s duty to conduct jihad.

If jihad, technically, means personal striving for perfection in the eyes of Allah, bin Laden and friends, in fatwas, use the term to brainwash adherents/Mujahideen into the notion that their only duty on this Earth is to use terrorist tactics to destabilize and make insecure the miserable house of anything on the planet that isn’t in line with Allah’s design.

Economic collapse is as important a prong of the jihadist agenda as slaughtering the infidel. Centers of economic activity will continue to be big targets, they vowed to destroy the WTC after the failed 1993 attempt.

Soft Jihad, â la that constantly underway by North American Muslim groups like CAIR, ICNA, ISNA (propaganda, relentless criticism of anything critical of Muslims in western societies) is as important a prong of the agenda as the hard, or violent jihad, advocated by AQ and friends around the world.

It’s tough to care about the correct technical term when jihadists themselves use “jihad” to describe all of this agenda.

    • Ratatosk

It may be hard for us to care about the correct terms… but I think its necessary for any official government statement, document etc to use the correct terms. I think its a bad idea to expect them to use incendiary terms, just for effect.

      • tanstaafl

I do see a point here, esp. as to the positive attachments for a Muslim of the word “jihad”

“…a new lexicon for the war on terror which includes more accurate terms…Indeed, while it may seem to be a relatively inconsequential step in Western eyes, the implications are not lost on Muslims…Historically the term applied to the concept of either a “greater Jihad,” or a “lesser Jihad.” The former denoting the daily struggle of the believer to overcome “self” in the pursuit of Allah’s will, and the latter traditionally meaning defense of religion, family, or homeland. Both of these terms are seen in a positive light within Islam, and conjure up images that are meaningful in the same sense for Westerners.”

“…Without a very public and academic assessment among Muslims, there can be no social or cultural stigma attached to actions that are actually counter to the teachings of Islam. Absent that, Al Qaeda and the like will not be as challenged in this regard in attracting adherents. Only by forcing the issue – not for Western literal accuracy, but for Islamic sufficiency – can we hope to turn the tide on those conducting hiraba packaged as jihad.”

        • Larry in the Silicon

It is an interesting series of threads. I agree that ‘Islamofascism’ is not really accurate. For one thing, it is redundant, since Islam at its root is indeed fascistic, totalitarian, full state control of the individual is inherent but is wrapped in ‘religious’ ideology.

What am I trying to say? (some have asked this before)…It is that only because Muhammad conceived of a single deity (Allah) and claimed to be his voice that it is a ‘religion.’ Well, not entirely true, since it does instruct Muslims to be ‘kind’ or at least respectful of fellow believing Muslims – that is, of people who share the commitment to turning the entire world Islamic. All other people can be attacked at will: how, when, and where are all tactical questions.

Adding -[descriptor] to ‘Islam’ is the basic mistake. Islam says what it is. Muhammad was proud of his message, and those who became the clerics and creators of hadiths believed in it as well, and do today.

The real problems are 1) non-Muslim ignorance of what’s in Islam 2) refusal to declare war against this enemy – and then figure out what tactics are best to win it, and 3) deep intertwining of economic and political interests between Western ‘elites’ and Muslim rulers.

The people of all ‘infidel’ countries must in some way ‘go to war’ against their rulers, that is, elect only anti-Jihadis, anti-Islam-ists, to openly conduct this war.

The Western societies are so far yet from this point that it staggers the imagination.

  55. 55. Gary Ogletree

Terror and terrorist are also forbidden words. Yet the regime has yet to find replacements, so they are still using them. Our Ivy League overlords would faint if they ever read a true translation of the Koran. Knowing your enemy is the first step to victory. We need a new regime.

  56. 56. Vinny B.

No, I just prefer not to rush to judgment and that we actually give people due process and think of them as “innocent until proven guilty.” What a radical concept those are, I know. Maybe this kid did not want the bomb to actually work, he was just looking to gain attention for himself and the plight of Muslims, who are victims of rampant discrimination. And if you think I am making it, just took a look at the comments above. Bush spent 8 years telling America that Muslims=terrorists, and obviously the message has been full received.

You go ahead and condemn the man without trial if you want. I prefer the American way, not the Bush way. If Bush were still President, this kid would have been placed in the Gitmo gulag and tortured mercilessly already. Thankfully, Obama has ordered that disgraceful stain on America closed once and for all.

    • MarkTheGreat

Vinny, are there any liberal myths that you managed to miss in that irrational rant of yours?

Rambant racism against muslims. Often charged, more often disproven.
Innocent until proven guilty is what jurors are charged with. It is not a standard for public debate.
Bush did not tell people that muslim=terrorist, not even once. In ever speech he went out of his way to declare that there were many muslims who weren’t terrorists.
There is not and never has been any torture in Gitmo.
If the kid is guilty, then Gitmo is where he belongs.

    • Toady

The biggest abusers of Muslims are other Muslims. If he was so concerned about their plight, perhaps a bomb in Mecca during Hajj season would have gotten the necessary attention.

I can’t help but think of the media’ s reaction a few weeks ago to the CHRISTIAN militia members arrested in Michigan. Every newscast told us of the evil that was being plotted by the RIGHT WING CHRISTIAN radicals of the of the CHRISTIAN militia. Never mind that no legitimate Christian organization would claim them, and there is no Christian doctrine to support that kind of a group. The media does know how to label their enemy.

The jihadis themselves do not try so hard to hide who they are and what they want. They have made it plain, time and again, and yet so many of our leaders shy from speaking the obvious. It is bizarre.

    • Yes, the jihadist have made very clear what they want.
But it is NOT bizarre that many politicians and nearly all the media cover the truth:
many have been bought by Saudi money, the rest are nihilists who salute with joy the attacks against the West.

We must understand this, even if it is very sad.

And we must work to substitute the rotten elites of today with true Patriots. It’s a long work that starts from the education, the defense of the Traditional Western culture and ends up with elections that kick away the jihad puppets from power.

      It’s a long work.

    We must remember this, forever.
This is the same guy who is trying in every possible way to disarm the People, attacking the Second Amendment.
The two facts are tightly connected.

Think Folks, and vote accordingly, do not allow the internationalists to destroy America.

  63. This morning, the occulted Democrat Mayor Bloomberg warned against the (what took him so long – “backlash” against Muslims and Pakistanis). Where were his comments on the “backlash” against “white males?” before the suspect had been identified? For a while there, he and the Times were uttering a sigh of relief in the hope that the perp was an incarnation of Eric Rudolph or Timothy McVeigh. Now, the pathetic refrain of “the backlash” will permeate its pages. Does anyone recall Bloomberg or the Times or NPR warning against a “backlash” against Evangelical Christians (McVey was not one, incidentally) after an abortion clinic crime?

All I know is that the white guy changing his shirt is very lucky..

this is just practice. they are looking to kill at least 3,000 americans just as they did at the world trade center. if you see the mumbai documentary, you will see how just a few of these creatures created chaos all over the city at the same time. there will be constant bullsh*t from obama and the stupid holder until the unthinkable happens, while they divert attention to the so called “al queda” another crap thing. this “al qaeda” is the worldwide terrorism of islam funded by the saudis and the despicable iran.
but keep the islamists roaming around our college campuses, speaking to low i,q, students, intimidating the jewish students, meeting with our deranged president at the wh to encourage their “entreprenurial” spirit (yeah, true), clomping around in their ugly burqas without i.d., and don’t forget their footbaths.

  66. 66. George

“I’m willing to bet right now he is believer in jihad and, if he’s seeking vengeance against anything, it’s Western Civilization – our way of life.”

Are you talking about the bomber or Geraldo? Militant fundamentalist Muslims don’t make our immigration policies, militant fundamentalist Leftists do, and the reason that the left downplays Islamic violence or immigrant crime is because they fear that there will be a backlash against open borders before they accomplish the goal of making whites a dispossessed minority. White hating racism causes Islamic terrorism in the West, and the cowardly refusal of conservatives to confront the real problem is in large part to blame.

  67. 67. paul_unalaska

I’d like to say NY’s vendors Lance Ortin and Duane Jackson are true heroes. Ortin, a disabled Vietnam vet to boot.. Lance you’re THE MAN!

Roger, I found it rather odd that the ONLY ‘supporting’ evidence being but a few seconds of a balding Anglo changing his shirt.

Suffice to say, it pays to profile. If the NYPD and ALL the news stations wouldn’t have gotten so myopic from a few seconds of video.. this guy could have split the country and we’d have been never the wiser. P C could have killed and allowed an unrepetent individual of not being brought to justice.

Terrorism here and abroad has been carried out by 20-40 year old Muslim men (sure Muslim women are recruited as well but a vastly small number compared to their male counterparts) with maniacal-type views of Islamic ‘faith’. I’ll venture to say 95% + of the terrorists are the aforementioned.

The same can be said of Arizona’s HB 1070 bill. Is it really ‘profiling’ when it is blatantly obvious?

    • Ratatosk

Well, its another smack for the 24 hour news cycle. The only reason that the guy on camera got so much attention is because the media has to talk about something. I don’t know what the tally is today, but 10 years ago someone added up all the world’s hotspots.

At the time there was about 100 places in the world where groups of people were active in trying trying to kill other groups of people. In about 95 of thes places, at least one of the groups involved was muslim.

Muslims seem to be uniquely unsuited to the task of living at peace with others. Even other muslims.

The whole point of small government conservatism is that the government allows people to do whatever the heck people want to (until the religious took over the conservative right anyway) and the government stays the heck out the way. The opposite of small government is the ability of law officers to demand to know who you are, what you’re doing and for proof of ID.

      • MarkTheGreat

The comments of one conservative proves that all conservatives are inconsistent?

    • Adrian

Haha wait seriously? You blame the fall of the Holy Roman Empire on Muslims…Wow, just wow. It’s obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. In no way, shape or form was the fall of the HRE caused by Muslims.

“Oh, gee, the Crusades! They really hated us then, didn’t they?” Yeah, and who started all of the Crusades, Mr. History? The Catholic Church! The Pope! Who were killing as many Muslims (and Jews) as they could? The Christian crusaders!

And the fall of Constantinople was just another step in the conflict between Christians and Muslims. The Muslims just so happened to win. We did the same to Acre. Mad about that? Of course not, because it doesn’t feed into your narrative.

You may be asking yourself “Wait, if Christians did the same stuff Muslims did, then does that make Christianity bad, too?”. No, because it is unfair to judge either Islam or Christianity based on what followers do! Judge a religion on what it preaches, not what followers do. It’s a corny aphorism, but it’s still true: don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

And seriously, it’s “Muslim”, not “Moslem”. This is America.

      • MarkTheGreat

The Crusades were the result of Muslims taking, by force, formerly Christian lands. You are aware that before they were conquered, everything from Spain, through the Holy Land, to Egypt and Libya were Christian lands.
Why shouldn’t the Christians try to get their lands back?

      • Thomas_L.....

Yes, of course, let’s show proper dhimmitude and not anger the Mohammedans. You should read some actual history and not get your “facts” from Hollywood and Howard Zinn. Here’s a good history question for you. How did Indonesia become almost totally Islamic? Give a detailed history and describe the lives of the people who lived there before the advent of Islam? Take your time.

      • myth buster

Wrong Adrian, the Mohammedean Turks started the Crusades; the Pope just mustered the forces for the counterattack.

      • iconoclast

I just love reading poorly educated apologists such as yourself, Adrian. It makes parodying the left impossible.

“No, because it is unfair to judge either Islam or Christianity based on what followers do! Judge a religion on what it preaches, not what followers do. ”

Well, robbing and enslaving are a couple of things well-known in that religion.

““And know that whatever ye take as spoils of war, lo! a fifth thereof is for Allah and His Messenger and for the kinsmen and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer.”

“Fight against them until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme. ”

And the jihadist followers of Islam continue in this tradition. And will do so until their minds are changed or they are dead. It has been going on for more than one thousand years and appears to be ready to proceed for another thousand years. Or at least until those pre-medieval fundamentalists go through their own enlightenment.

        • Adrian

You’ve got to be kidding. Okay, wow, history lesson time. The Crusades were announced by Pope Urban II. I’m not saying the Catholics started all religious fighting. The Crusades were Catholic calls to arms against “heretics”. And actually they weren’t just against Muslims. Catholics wiped out Jewish settlements in Europe, and, much later, other heretic groups such as the Teutonic knights during the Northern Crusade. And why would you defend the same people who ordered the burning of Protestants at the stake?

And yeah anyone who claims the Holy Roman Empire collapsed because of Muslims doesn’t quite know their history. The HRE was never even an “empire” to start with, more of a collection of loosely-allied castles and cities. After the Reformation, many nobles converted either to Lutheranism or Calvinism. So the Habsburgs got pissed, there was a long period of conflict, then the Thirty Years War. The Peace of Westphalia, which ended the war, dissolved the HRE. So, yeah, not Muslims. I thought you guys knew your history…

Haha and if you want to talk “robbing and enslaving”, I think your forgetting the, oh, first quarter of the history of the United States, as well as a three-hundred-year section of world history. You know, the part where Christian Europeans were the greatest traffickers in slaves? And if you want to talk land, how about you look at a map of Africa in the late 19th century. “Yeah, Indonesia! Muslims were the only people to do bad stuff to THAT country!” Well, yeah, except for the British and the Portuguese and the Dutch. But other than that…

Oh and I don’t get my facts from “Hollywood” and “Howard Zinn”. I tend to prefer these things called “books”, inscribed in which are “letters” proving that everything I have said is absolutely true.

Go ahead and fact check. (Unless you want to continue to believe that you are right, in which case, don’t fact check.) Oh and Iconoclast? Your little “uneducated” remark? People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones (or, in your case, glass trailers). Boom roasted!

          • Adrian

Again, the Crusades were a Catholic action, not a Muslim one. Just clarifying.

          • Old Soldier

Uh, last I checked, the Arabs / Muslims eventually won and drove the Crusaders out. Not sure what they are upset about. Maybe because they haven’t done so well lately against western armies.

          • Thomas_L.....

Now about Indonesia? Taking your time?

          • MarkTheGreat

The Crusades were a Catholic action. Well, duh.
What you conveniently ignore is what happened prior to the Pope calling for Christians to defend themselves.

          • Adrian

I’m not saying that Muslims did not do their fair share of bad things. What I’m saying is that both Christians and Muslims waged religious war back then. So I actually agree with you guys saying that the Muslims did it too. That’s the point! We both did our fair share of bad things.

MarkTheGreat- Yes, Muslims did wage religious war against Christians, just like we did against them. And invading the Holy Land (five times!) is hardly considered “defending yourself”. That’s an invasion, not a defensive action. Also, keep in mind that Crusades were not only waged against Muslims. Like the Northern Crusade, which was waged against pagans in the Baltic States, and the Albigensian Crusade, which was waged against the Cathars, a Christian sect in northern France. (The Crusaders eradicated the Cathars, and, in all their Crusades, leveled any Jewish settlements they encountered along the way to their target)

Thomas_L- I’m not really sure what your getting at with the Indonesia comment. Islam spread there around the 13th century. There wasn’t any massive war that resulted in every other religion being destroyed. Islam was gradually spread in the area through trade routes and Muslim missionaries. Actually, both Christian and Muslim communities exist in the country.

Old Soldier- Islamist terrorists didn’t start to target the U.S. until after the Gulf War. They got mad because Saudi Arabia wanted us to fight Saddam and not bin Laden. That and we stationed troops in the holy city of Medina. That’s why all of the terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda against the U.S. occurred in or after 1991. I’m not at all defending the terrorists, I’m just saying that’s when they started to hate us.

I’m glad we have put this matter to bed (that’s what she said)

      • Jacob

This is America? Correction, This is a website.

This has to be one of the least factual responses I have come across on PJ media. Congrats. It must have been hard work to pack that much inanity into such a small space.

  71. 71. paul_unalaska

    MarkTheGreat,

In the eyes of G.L. Alston and like minded people. The ‘you people’ moniker is Mr. Alston’s raison d’être

  72. 72. deguello

25 cents is indeed the worth of Bloomberg’s mind;his character’s worth is even lower. An amoral and vicious white middle class-hating leftist plutocrat, in the manner of Soros,Bloomberg will one day have to explain away an inevitable and successful terrorist attack. Not to worry:he’ll blame rush Limbaugh and Fox.

  73. 73. deguello

I agree with Alston,I don’t want Obama’s FBI/ATF to ask me for my papers,or otherwise harass me when I go to a tea party, report an illegal alien, boycott a Bloomberg owned “News” service, occupy and trash a college admissions office to protect reverse discrimination, ditto the NY Times for advocating Mcain Feingold censorship, and engaging in other (necessary) acts of civil disobedience.

  74. 74. Leatherneck

Today on Fox news the question was who radicalized the individual.

What a load of PC crap. The only radical who follows Mohammed is a peaceful one.

If anyone wants to know why the government can not name the enemy, all one needs to do is understand the CFR.

That should be a Pajamas Media subject. You could call it Strongly Worded Letters, and everyone is good inside.

  75. 75. deguello

ALSTON: Who’s inconsistent?I,for one, agree with you.The last thing I want before trashing a college admissions office to protest reverse racism,or taking over the NY Slimes in a sit down demonstration, to protest its Castroite sympathies, is an OBAMA FBI/ ATF thug asking me for my papers:it’s too distracting.

  76. 76. Meryl

“And why are they doing it?” [refusing to call jihad by name, refusing to call terrorism by name…from the article….) Why are they doing it? Because they want to keep the issue confused. Because they don’t want terrorism to be stopped.

I think it’s about jolly time that we start looking at the plain, in-your-face answers and stop acting like we’re just not clear on nuance. The people who don’t want to identify murderers, whom they could identify, obviously are not motivated to stop the murderers. (Duh) This is not complicated. It’s vicious. It’s murderous. It’s treasonous. But it is not complicated. Until some of our fine conservative columnists can bring themselves to stop acting like they don’t understand, we’re not going to get the thing opened up. Please stop helping the Bloombergs and the Courics. You are being far too polite. They don’t deserve that courtesy. They are helping destroy this country by their PC treason.

  77. 77. JL

It’s official. Bloomberg is a moron. If it was a domestic terrorist the bomb would be in front of a federal building. Whereas jihadists tend to choose symbolic places with lots of civilians (like Times Square). How the hell did he become mayor. He has got to go.

  78. 78. K2K

If this is true, from The National in UAE, “… Mr Shahzad is the son of the retired Air Vice Marshall Baharul Haq, a former top Pakistani air force officer and deputy director general of the civil aviation authority, according to Kifyat Ali, a cousin of Mr Shahzad’s father….”

then it is more likely Mr. Shahzad is a Pashtun Nationalist protesting the pressure America is putting on the Pakistani military. No jihadi. It is almost too well staged, with no one dead, more clues than any eight year old who watches CSI would leave, and timed the night before General Petraeus arrived in Pakistan.

Certainly a fascinating unfolding story that is not over, deserving of an update that is not anyone’s knee-jerk stereotype.

  79. 79. Sallie

Our country has been laid out for attack..from all corners, and it upsets me. We seem to be turning a blind eye to the obvious.
The NY bomber was “not” caught due to the vigilance of anyone but an ordinary citizen. They (various law enforcement types) were then “tracking” this bomber from Pakistan and lost him…good thing he made an airline reservation.

Although I’m sure O and the Adm will find a way to blame Bush for the oil, AZ, and the NY bomber..disgusting state of affairs we have going on.

CNN and Bloomberg should just move to the middle east together. When we heard their responses this morning it was unbelievable!!

  80. 80. WAKE UP

People like Bloomberg have been in denial ever since 9/11.

  81. 81. Dwight

We caught the guy? No matter; it was luck! Clearly it is more important to call people names than to catch them; got it. Something about a Monte Python movie, maybe?

    • MarkTheGreat

We aren’t allowed to do both?

      • Dwight

Let’s just say that one is important to me; the other, not so much.

Responsible leaders try to avoid pogroms, as GWB, also did.

We should study this guy, as we did the army shooter and THEN talk about exactly what he is. The early talk is just that; talk. Some lefties ARE being shifty and many more righties are yelling as if they have discovered gold or “fire.” I can’t quite understand the dynamic, unless something is telling them that the lefties are vulnerable here.

I think centrists want effective policy, action, and even-handedness but are generally bemused by the lather worked up over the issue of what the criminal/terrorist/jihadist, mentally disturbed, muslim or not shooters and exploders are called. There is something a bit emotionally suspect about the terrific need to label. Another odd thing is that sometimes Obama seems more willing to kill them than to label them, but that is fine with me.

        • David R. Graham

Obama is willing to kill competitors for the title of world ruler, such as Taliban and to some extent AQ, mostly the former. IRGC, Hamas, Hizbollah, Saudis, Syrians and the African Mohammedans — that wing of the Mohammedan array, despite its being multi-sectarian, Obama is not willing to kill or even defend against so long as they acknowledge his supremacy. AF/PAKs are another story. They’re Aryan stock and a real threat to Afro-Semitic stock, who are Obama’s center of gravity. (Iranian Shiites are Semitic stock, invaders, intermarried now somewhat with Persians, but still not Persian/Aryan in disposition). If the Times Square guy is AF/PAK, he is Aryan — the guy who sold him the SUV thought he might have been Hispanic(!) or Middle Eastern — that makes fits the pattern.

  82. 82. Pragmatist

Mumbai Terrorists Mohammedan PAKISTANIS, London Terrorist Mohammedan PAKISTANIS, Spanish Terrorists Mohammedan PAKISTANIS, Ft Hood Terrorist Mohammedan PAKISTANI, Thwarted Plane bomber Terrorist Mohammedan PAKISTANI, now Times Square bomber Terrorist Mohammedan PAKISTANI.

Notice any links here because it seems that the US and European governments think and whats more want YOU to think that there are none and its just COINCIDENCE that they are all PAKISTANI and MOHAMMEDAN.

So do you FEEL SAFER now you have a LYING MOHAMMEDAN in the WHITE House America?????????

  83. 83. Pragmatist

Just imagine if the times square bomber had turned out to be a white middle class male Tea Party member as Mayor Bloomboom and the idiotic MSM and moonbats so wanted instead of a PAKISTANI MOHAMMEDAN. Think you would be getting the “dont judge all Tea Party members by one bad apple, please no backlash against the Tea Party’ platitudes being parroted by the moronic left, the MSM and the Government that you are seeing now.

    NOT A CHANCE

If you cant even NAME or recognize your enemy how can you possibly defeat them because if you cant name them no matter what you do you cant have a victory over them or even know who you are fighting.

Politically Correct, Muli Culti, Islamophile, ‘Yuman rites’ spouting, left wing Socialist moonbats are as much enemy agents and facilitators as the Mohammedan Terrorists their idiotic stupidity try to hide from blame.

  84. 84. Willy

Peace through strength. You cannot negotiate without a hostage. When it comes to the threat of nuclear terrorism, Mecca is our hostage. It should be the explicitly declared policy of the United States, repeated at every state of the union address, that should any terrorist group, or Islamic nation (like Iran) deploy a nuclear or radiation weapon against the territory of the United States — we will melt Mecca.

  85. 85. Berlet98

    Connecting the Terror Dots

Dave Letterman has been getting a lot of mileage, and a lot of laughs, out of the Gulf oil disaster that killed 11 Americans and which is an environmental catastrophe. On Monday, he began milking the Times Square failed terrorist attack for all the yuks it was worth. On Tuesday, he linked the two, asking the rhetorical and inane question, Which is worse?

For Mr. Letterman’s edification, what happened to British Petroleum’s offshore oil rig was, apparently, a deadly accident. What happened Saturday in the crowded “Crossroads of the World” was just one more in a series of planned but fortunately foiled terror attacks on our homeland.

Neither should be a source of amusement even for Letterman.

What is also not amusing is the recent escalation of successful and unsuccessful Islamic terrorist attacks–there, I’ve said it, Mr. Obama!–on American soil, an escalation which should give pause to those who refuse to admit we’re in an undeclared war on terrorism, or that the United States is in imminent danger. . .

Just out of curiosity — Did anybody count how many times Geraldo said “White Man” on his two hour special?

Glad somebody else noticed that some certain media personalities seem to be just praying for a news story about a disgruntled “White Man” attempting to kill innocent civilians.

  87. 87. Pragmatist

President Odumbo praised the vigilant stall keeper in Times Square for reporting the suspicious incident. Now please explain why this SAME principle is being called NAZI and being condemned by the President and the Dem and Hollywood and Schwartzenenger (S?) the MSM SHEEP when its suggested that they do EXACTLY the same in ARIZONA.
Seems there is one law for New York city when they save Obambis *ss and HYPOCRITICAL moonbat demonization for ARIZONA because its REPUBLICAN.

  88. 88. David R. Graham

It’s name, Roger, is Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism.

  89. 89. justanoguy

    Still Wondering,

How many times did Geraldo gleefully state it was a “white guy” responsible for the time square failed bombing?

Reverse Racism is alive and well and it’s time to call it out.

  90. 90. Will

If and when we have another attack our friendly Liberals will ignorantly blame Bush. This country is commiting suicide.
