I don’t think it’s accident that the Stock Market is tanking after a very short rally that coincided with the then coming victory of Scott Brown. The business world is scared – as is evidently our Secretary of the Treasury who has wandered about as far off the reservation as cabinet officers normally go, allowing the world to know his skepticism about Obama’s new reining in of the banks. (How long before Geithner goes under the bus now?)
The scary thing is that many of us believe the President hardly knows much of anything, certainly not economics, and is surrounded by an increasingly paranoid and defensive group of advisers. It’s shades of Nixon, but worse. Tricky Dick, at least, knew what he was doing and could accomplish things. Obama is the biggest windbag to ever ascend to the presidency. He has no idea what he is doing and now things are getting rough. Frankly, I’m worried for our country because this man doesn’t really understand what the public is telling him. He just thinks we’re “angry.” He’s wrong – we’re furious and we’re furious because he blames everyone but himself and seems psychologically incapable of taking responsibility. One can imagine a ninety-year old Obama stumbling around in some rest home shaking his walking stick at George Bush. But forthe moment Bush is being replaced boy. Now evidently it’s the banks fault. The evil bankers are to blame. It’s capitalism, stupid
Problem is, we’ve been there, done that, a thousand times. The alternative to capitalism is socialism and it has never worked. Not once, in all its myriad permutations. In fact, it most often hurts those it was intended to help, bankrupting the society and leaving the lower classes destitute. The Soviet Union collapsed. China was deeply impoverished until it turned essentially capitalistic . Everybody knows that now, and has for years, except maybe our president. He’s after the banks and is so clueless he thinks that will impress us. Of course, it won’t. Nobody believes anything he says anymore. But he is the President and he can take executive actions. And with those actions, like a wounded animal, he may pull all of us down with him. I am deeply afraid of that because Barack Obama has never had to deal with any personal adversity in his adult life. He has lived a completely privileged existence. This is a first for him. There’s no telling how he will behave. Watch out, buckle up and hold on to your seats.

I’m going to have to agree with you Mr. Simon.
I’ve long felt that Obama’s biggest problem was that he never had to deal with failure, never had to deal with someone telling him no.
And no the US public has clearly and increasingly said no to him.
In Obama’s mind this wasn’t supposed to happen. Look at his rote response to any of his programs “Sure they complain now, but they’ll love it once we pass it.”
The sad part, the tragic part is that cornering Obama like this and risking his cornered thrashings is sill the better result.
The only alternative would be for the US to stay enthralled and for Obama to get everything he wished for.
Strange times.
Roger – is there anyway we can impeach him – based on diminished capacity?
ate my comment
Maybe we will get lucky and survive. he is afterall destroying the democratic party.
Ever since Obama made that silly trip trying to get the Olympics for Chicago, I’ve suspected that Mayor Daley has surprisingly strong influence over Obama’s actions. After all, as head of the Chicago machine, Daley knows where to go for evidence of Obama’s involvement in the everyday political corruption practiced there, evidence that would drive Obama from office — and Obama has to know this. Control by blackmail sounds sordid, but actually in a way is good news, because Daley is not as left-wing as Obama. Daley might, for example, be behind the decision to send more troops to Afghanistan, a decision Obama “made” that seems decidedly out of character. Somehow I don’t see Mayor Daley sitting still while Obama makes radical changes to the basic capitalist structure of the US economy … it would be bad for Chicago!
“There’s no telling how he will behave.”
I do expect Barack Obama to finish his term in office. There will be increasing talk about his mental health—and a number of these people will be prominent Democrats. This man is way over his head. He should still be in the Illinois state senate. It turns out that I was right about eight months ago when I declared Obama had become a marginalized president unable to pass any major domestic legislation through both houses of Congress. I accurately predicted that the health care bill was going nowhere. Yes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Obama will now wish to punish the American citizenry for its betrayal of his utopian vision. We are misbehaving children deserving of a good whipping.
It has been alleged that Henry Kissinger ordered everyone around Richard Nixon to forbid him access to the red phone if he got drunk. A number of his associates questioned his sanity during the end of his presidency. We should also have similar worries concerning the current resident of the White House.
Maybe we should be hoping that he stays in his cocoon of self-delusion because who can say what what will emerge if he’s forced into confronting reality. Can his psyche handle the truth?
All of this is good news for the USA. The Massachussetts election is the point of no return. Barack Obama is no more and considerably less than his media profile. This republic will outlast him and all the better for it. Believe it. It is happening before our eyes – cheers everyone! ;}
Barry’s thin skin, addictive personality disorder, embarrassingly childish petulance towards opponents, self-delusions-of-supremity and blatant self-adoration are going to be challenged like never before as Barry’s substance-lacking core as an individual struggles to keep his grandiose illusions of pomposity alive.
It’s not going to be pretty when the only one left enamored of 0bama’s fantasy of manifest destiny is… 0bama.
I would offer the following analogy for our current predicament. We are all passengers on a large ship crossing a vast ocean, and President Obama is the captain with Pelosi and Reid as his first mates. A storm is building up ahead and the ship is taking on water.
A hardy group of opinionated passengers is attempting to explicate our way out of the crisis, but nevertheless, anxiety is building and there is talk of mutiny or fleeing to the life rafts.
If you don’t already know how to swim, now would be a good time to learn.
I’m going to say some unpopular things here:
(1) the terrible Congress results from too little involvement by respectable people;
(2) therefore, the various voting scams (ie, motor voter; mass absentee ballots (like voting day is unimportant to the US Citizen??);
(3) and AFFIRMATIVE ACTION! Obama is President because American Citizens felt so good about voting for an AFRICAN American (one that is good looking and a Harvard grad, but then we know about Harvard Affirmative Actions Programs..) So, this man President Obama can do a ton of harm, more than your affirmative action lawyer or doctor.
He has been picked up and supported FROM THE BEGINNING by racists like Ayers and Reid and Daley: light skinned, presentable, clean…
No wonder he hates America.
Some foregoing comments say Obama is in over his head. This is not true.
You do not say that the inmates in a nut house are “in over their heads”.
Obama is mentally ill. Name one thing Obama has ever done that seems “normal”.
I agree with those here saying Obama is out of touch with reality. Besides, he is surrounded with czars and others that help spin his cocoon of denial. Really, they live in another world. From where he stands, he sees a utopia that this president wants to impose. He just doesn’t get it: Americans still hold liberty dear.
For all of you who are advocating Obama’s impeachment, please rethink your position. Let’s assume you get your wish and Obama is removed from office. What happens then? Biden becomes president. He then can (must?) nominate a replacement VP. He can name anybody he chooses, subject only to their being eligible to hold the office. He could choose, for example, Al Gore, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Al Franken, Keith Olbermann, Reverend Wright, Jimmy Carter… name your own closet monster. The new VP must be confirmed by both houses of congress, but remember the huge majority the Democrats have there. Now then, suppose it’s Gore. Gore is sworn in as the VP again. Now Biden resigns and collects whatever bribe the Democrats promised him for doing so. Gore is now president and HE gets to nominate a new VP. Therefore, if Obama is impeached, convicted, and removed from office, the Democrats get to name a new President AND vice president and they can have anybody they want and the voters have no say in the matter short of a musket. Do you want to give the Dems such power? I don’t.
BILL N is right. Besides the democrats will not vote to impeach anyway.
The huge Brown win reduces Obama’s power which is a plus. Obama is destroying the democratic party which is a big plus.
A huge negative is the increased debt, but right now we cannot do much about that.
We need to build the republican party into a conservative powerhouse.
It may be possible win with silence (if the enemy is destroying itself).
Sooner or later the federal government will need to be ripped apart (with revolutionary zeal) as we act to completely defund the left.
Who *IS* ‘in charge’ anyway?
The whole damned ‘O’ administration is filled with nothing but cheating, lying, pinko nut-jobs!
Roger, this piece was pitch perfect. Obama could literally be melting before our eyes.
Spot on Roger. Barry is cluless and deperate. Can we find an aspirin factory in the middle east to bomb?
My few remaining Liberal friends don’t like it much when I tell ‘em,
“Told you so.”
I’m thinking of changing to,
“Can’t say you weren’t warned.”
“I do expect Barack Obama to finish his term in office.”
This was a mistake. I meant to say the exact opposite: I do not expect Barack Obama to finish his term in office!
I even suspect that Obama will resign due to health reasons. There is also an outside chance that the American people will have to push him out of the White House. It does not thrill me when contemplating Joe Biden as president—but it is better than the alternative.
Smokes more, in the office less.
Roger – is there anyway we can impeach him – based on diminished capacity?
If the words “President Joe Biden” don’t chill you to the bone, you’re just not paying attention. Biden was the best career/life insurance policy Obama could ever buy.
“If the words “President Joe Biden” don’t chill you to the bone, you’re just not paying attention.”
I have even questioned Joe Biden’s sanity in the past. He has long contended that a drunk driver killed his wife—when the evidence clearly contradicts this slander of an innocent man. Still, Biden is the lesser of evils. Obama is the far dangerous of the two men.
This is the “glass bubble” of narcissism. The bubble isolates the narcissist from reality but it is quite fragile. Narcissists in leadership positions surround themselves with yes-men and enablers whose role is to protect the bubble from breaking; that is, perpetuate their fantasies and delusions. When the bubble finally breaks, a narcissistic crisis ensues leading to denial of reality and finally rage. The psychological literature is full of case studies examining the failures of organizations run by people with narcissistic personality disorder. We may be witnessing such a case unfolding.
Obama is so bad that he is good. This is our big chance. Let the nut job continue. He is causing a ferment that is constantly growing. The left is too stupid to see what is happening.
We need this guy. If he is gone we will no longer have the burr under the saddle. Everything will quite down. All this trouble will have been for nothing. We just took over Kennedy’s seat. Next we will rip the federal government apart and 110% defund the left.
Not sure if I should rain on this fantasy, but leftist control of our culture isn’t going anywhere without a fight.
This administration isn’t going away. Book it.
Nancy Pelosi is as safe representing Haight Ashbury as she ever was.
And, I’m not so sure that the meme “he doesn’t know what he’s doing” does the rest of us any good. I’m much more inclined to overestimate those anarchists who wish to tear us apart from the inside, as underestimate them.
READ the tea leaves, guys. The response I heard to Scott Brown’s election was…”we should have forced through this legislation faster, we hesitated and can’t finish them off”.
Grabbing the banking industry, the auto industry, the health industry, combined with having the unions, the entrenched media, Hollywood and academia in their pocket…was nearly the perfect Molotov cocktail to burn down the establishment.
Do you think for one minute this fight is over? That they are going to roll over and play dead?
They took our sworn enemies and turned them into a protected class of defendant, armed with legal rights to our national defense information. It is not Rich Daley pulling these strings, it’s a lifetime of Frank Marshall Davis whispering in the ears.
This is Michael Moore at the helm. William Ayers. Bernardine Dohrn.
Enjoy a moment of respite, if you must. But don’t slumber so deeply that you miss the next charge. It’s coming, you just don’t see it yet.
Bill N makes a great argument. Beyond the horror of a Biden/Gore, Gore/pick the whack-job scenario, it wouldn’t be terribly good for the country to sit through impeachment proceedings right now (as if there is ever a good time). Can you say weak(er) horse?
Win in November, gridlock the administration’s ability to do much further damage, let him smoke, play some hoops and give his little speeches. Instead of lame duck status for his final year, it’ll be for the last three years – I could live with that.
Then again, with the myriad gaffes and grievous errors of the first 12 months, you’ve got to admit the possibility of a huge scandal is but one boneheaded decision away.
Guys, they are going to attack Wall Street…and use YOU as the weapon.
They are going to try to turn the tables here…redirect the anger, make believe they are on YOUR side…and fix their bayonet on the “real” enemy…but, it will be a misdirection play. Wake up, arise from your feel good night’s rest. Please.
Read what Jonah is saying at NRO:
“Not only is the White House in denial that giving Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid control of domestic and economic policy wasn’t what voters wanted in 2008, they’re in denial that it isn’t what voters want in 2010. Instead, the White House is going to play the populist card, attacking the banks they bailed out and the insurance companies they struck sweetheart deals with. The president who mocked Scott Brown’s truck — made by GM, a company Obama actually owns — is now going to grab a pitchfork and join the mob at the White House gates.
I don’t know how they’ll do it, but one thing’s for sure: We’ll get even more Obama.

Good insight to the thing of Obama was when I heard his comments to Stephanopoulis (sp)in regards to the Scott Brown win. It was the same disgust for government that elected me to office elected Brown. He threw in a reference to the last eight years.
It truly showed me how truly detached he is.
Damn, should read “thinking of Obama”
The alarm expressed in the foregoing posts is similar to what thinking Americans everywhere are feeling.
Can you imagine anything worse than this crowd in Washington running the show??????
They are perfect!!!!! All my life I have wanted to destroy the left. This bunch of crazy jerks are doing just that. Also they are getting worse. They will not shut up. The situation could not be better.
We will throw out the baby with the bathwater just to make sure we get everything out in a hurry. We will not have much time. For instance cancel all amendments above 10 and just start over. I would enjoy living under a radical right wing revolutionary government. How else would we get back to a small, cheap government.
Thousands of leftwingers in internment camps would be necessary just to get them out of the way.
The Obama crazies are on our side!!! We now have a chance to undo 100 years of leftism (including the income tax) and they are making way.
promoguy:
Obama said : “It was the same disgust for government that elected me to office elected Brown. ”
HE’S CORRECT!! What he doesn’t get is that his actions, appointments, policies and speeches have increased that disgust by several orders of magnitude.
Look at his economic team. They are all the worst of the bloated fat-cat Wall Streeters from Bear, Goldman, Citi, etc. Look at his hiding of where the 100′s of billions to AIG actually went. Look at all the secret deals with the Insurance cos., Pharma cos. and unions in the healthcare bill. Look at the stealing of GM and Chrysler to give to his Union hacks. Look at the disdain and disgust in his and his sychophants comments about Tea Partiers.
I doubt that he and most other pols will ever get it. The corruption here is probably the single most bi-partisan policy around.
If you want to win back these “disgusted” voters handle the corruption inside that elite Boston to DC corridor both in and out of government. Tighten up on defense and scale way back on gov’t regulations that are part and parcel of the corruption and secret dealings. i.e. no EPA regs making CO2 a pollutant to placate the UN bypassing congress and the voters.
cfbleachers:
Phase 1: 2009 – Massive transfer of wealth from taxpayers to Wall St.
Phase 2: 2010 – Populist attack on Wall St.
Phase 3: Nov. 2010 – Regain 60+ seat majority Senate.
I agree with you on Obama in general, but not on the banks.
Finally, he is addressing Too Big To Fail.
http://wcvarones.blogspot.com/2010/01/i-obama.html
I completely agree with you, Roger. I have gone from simply disliking Obama for his arrogance and egotism to being perfectly amazed and horrified at what–whatever that is–he is doing!! Scary times.
Let us “cut to the chase”. Our president is a product of affirmative action.
The stock market managed a rally based on the innate optimism of the American people, coupled with a feeling that — since Congress was so focused on 1/6 of the economy, the other 5/6 might be able to get on with commerce.
Now that Obamacare is in it’s final death-throes, the promise of a “hard pivot for jobs and the economy” is telling the lucky 5/6 that it might be their turn for egregious micro-mis-management. With 77% of investors (read, people with 401K’s or IRAs) believing that the administration is anti-business, it’s inevitable that that markets would be unhappy.
cfbleachers is correct: the only “down” the Left has in mind isn’t “backing” it’s “doubling”!
This may well come down to the kind of a revolt against Washington that we have not seen in 150 years, though it won’t be secession this time, and it won’t be just in the South. If the Republicans can’t stop them in Washington, the people will outside of Washington: pitchforks, tar and feathers, burning effigys, the whole gamut of massive resistance on a scale that will make the South’s reaction to Federal desegregation efforts look like a Sunday School picnic.
We may yet end up living Phil Gramm’s predition about hunting Democrats with dogs….
Why would any sane investor put money into the US market? Obama and the Democrats clearly do not understand or appreciate private investment and the Republicans during the first part of the decade failed to control government spending and protect private investment. I’ve moved most of my investment funds into emerging Asian markets. Multiply that by enough investors and the US is screwed.
cfbleachers is right. This is a long war, and it is foolish to think the statists will give up without a fight. Limited government believers won a single Senate seat, and those same limited government believers need to be on guard for the counter attack that will be coming.
That which gives me hope is that I live in Massachusetts and for so, so long I thought I was the only person who believed in freedom and limited government. But at the Scott Brown campaign events I found others who think the same way – including the fact that we all thought we were alone! And now we know we are not. That is a good thing. That breaks the “chilling effect” that MSM had.
But after the high fives, it is time to get focused again on the long task ahead.
D. Ch. at #5 is right. Mr. Obama is a typical Chicago Democrat with the limits of such and what passes for their virtues. Those virtues are what we need to remember now. The more Successful Chicago Democrats excel at learning from their mistakes when it costs them elections, coming up with distractions until the voting public forgets that it was mad, giving jobs to their supporters and making their ideological allies happy when necessary because they themselves have no convictions on anything except that they enjoy holding power more than they enjoy not holding power.
The thing to remember is this; In the the Land of the Blind the one-eyed man is King. In the party of the Brainless the half-brained man is President. I suspect that Mr. Obama, empty suit without a center though he is, is actually saner, more intelligent and possessed of more common sense than most of his supporters and fellow party members.
And with that cheerful thought I wish everyone a Nice Day! ^_~
A few observations:
1. The current stock market is being artificially driven by the massive spending and the profits made by banks re-lending money back to the government. Eventually this will deflate the stock market back to the 6000 level because the unemployment means that no one is buying the products being made. This will hit in mid-year.
2. Obama has a past problem with cocaine. He did not release comprehensive medical records, just a one-page summary from his doctor indicating that he is in excellent health. He is experiencing the first major rejection and failure in his life. What do you think happens next? Can you imagine a temporary President Biden while Obama is in rehab? I can. And it is ugly.
#11 has it correct I think. I don’t even want to get close to removal as that would open a real can of worms as #14 writes. I would dream, (hope), that the GOP can continue to stop his arrogant stupidity for 10 more months when the leadership in both houses could be replaced. Leave him then to thrash about until 2012 when he, (and his awful wife), can be chucked out.
To me Obama is an example of affirmative action in the extreme. And, since he’s been allowed to slide all this life, he really believes he’s the best and brightest.
So, I will hang-by-my-thumbs until November because I know Nemeses coming.
Keep in mind that even a lame duck President can continue to do major damage to the country. He still has the power to appoint judges, his fellow travelers in the Executive branch are in a position to hire in and/or promote within the Executive branch.
Remember what the EPA did last month. Obama and those like him don’t necessarily feel they need new legislation to accomplish their goals.
Much like Clinton, the damage bad Presidents do takes years to show itself sometimes, and lingers far after they are gone.
For his next birthday:

Slow down, breath, relax… OK, now…
Obama should and will not be impeached, he is not mentally ill and he will not quit the Presidency. Basically, none of those wet dreams will come to life. Accept that. Don’t live in an imaginary world, like our liberal friends.
Barry is inexperienced and incompetent, and he should have kept organizing communities into ground. He hasn’t, and in fact the American people gave him a bigger community, America, to organize. Too sad… Most are waking up and realizing the mistake they made, but then the memory of the American people is short.
With a “few” very significant adjustments, for which the media will cover, he will be electable in 2012. The picture painted by Nostradamus from L.A. in Roger’s previous posting isn’t that far fetched.
D. Ch., Towering Barbarian:
Obama is a particular flavor of Chicago Democrat – the stingless reformer, who doesn’t take any graft, but doesn’t do anything to fight it, either.
As a state senator and U.S. Senator, he was not part of the graft system (Daley and his city underlings run that). A legislator can of course get into the graft, but doesn’t have to. He can look the other way, and be all liberal-good-government about other issues: green this, schools that, gun-control whatever.
That’s OK with Daley. Daley doesn’t get into fights with anyone who doesn’t actively attack his control of city government or interfere with the graft.
It’s very doubtful that Daley has anything on Obama. And Obama’s Olympic intervention was predictable. Of course the U.S. President would support the U.S. Olympic bid – from his home town!
You used the word “boy” in context with Obama. “But for the moment Bush is being replaced boy.” Therefore no progressive can read this article without labelling you racist. Sorry. Good points, but now the “left” will be able to dismiss it all….
Which one will it be economic collapse or terrorist attack – that is which one will bring martial law and Dictator BO? Nov can’t get here soon enough…in fact 2012 can’t get here soon enough.
Discount me, but I sill have a sense that something, not sure what, will come screaming out of TheWon’s past and topple the ship. What ever it is, will demand his removal and then the fight will truly be on. He is just hiding too much, spending millions to stop anyone from seeing his true papertrail to last much longer as the media or parts of it really start looking.
The One commits no error. The One makes no mistakes. The One never fails. Others may fail, but not The One.
On April 30, 1945 a guy in a bunker in Berlin felt the same way.
25th Amendment.
When a president continues to state something, such as Obamacre will save money, when the public, the media, and the CBO all know it will not, when a president continues to show an inability to accept that his actions have consequences and blaming others for every fault, then it is seriously time to consider the 25th Amendment and the Constitutional ability to replace him for being incapacitated and unable either to recognize or deal with reality.
This isn’t a partisan thing. The guy’s nuts, and a larger and larger percentage of the population – and the world – are beginning to worry about him.
I read a post earlier today that he is psychotic and narcissistic. Hard to argue with that.
If there are ANY elders in the DNC, Biden needs to be told to step down, Hilary needs to be confirmed as his replacement and then Obama has to be told to get outta there – for the good of the country AND the DNC.
“And, since he’s been allowed to slide all this life, he really believes he’s the best and brightest.”
Excellent point. That pretty well says it all. Obama is not well read or intellectually serious—but he has a Harvard credential behind his name. That alone convinces him of his supposed intellectual superiority.
I would rather say that he has not really had any political adversity in his life. As a child he did have personal adversity from his parents. His grandma – no. From what I read she loved him.
I wonder how much he thinks about her and what he did to her during the campaign?
Talk of rebuilding the Republican Party?
Any candidate that endorses the myth of global warming should not even be considered (ala McCain/Palin) as a serious Republican politician.
Time to take back America.
Many have been wondering if Obumbler will in the wake of the Massachusetts Miracle tack to the center. Yesterday I wasn’t sure, but today following his remarks in Ohio, I’d have to say not a chance. He’s back in campaign mode, dropping his g’s, going on interminably about how nothing is about him while making it crystal clear that it, in fact, is all about him. It’s the same rope-a-dope he used so successfully (NOT) to sell health care. I don’t think the man has a learning curve.
I would love to know what the Democrats are saying to each other behind closed doors (in soundproofed rooms recently swept for bugs). It’s they who will have to sabotage him until we can take care of it at the ballot box. They have the fear of God in them now and if we can drive that point home in November, we will render Obama the lamest of ducks. Given our limited options (any more special elections on the horizon?), I think it’s the best we can do.
I’m with those who worry about his mental health.

Yes, impeach on the basis of mental incompetence/diminished capacity to discharge the duties of the Office.
He is actually mentally unstable, feeble, never grew up from child-like thinking. Some regress to childhood. This one never transcended it.
And that makes him, as an adult in body and years, feeble and unable to discharge the responsibilities of high national command. He can impeached on those grounds — as can the two in line behind him — and it is not inconceivable that he will be.
No racism to it, just cold clinical analysis based on evidence he provides in word and deed daily.
Fundamental insanity underlies both forms of fascism, religious fascism (based on ideology) and natural fascism (based on race).
Roger–I think the prospects for the country are improving; for one simple reason, ordinary middle class people, whether independent, present or leaning Dem, present or leaning Repub, are taking note of the peril and are awakening to the need to exercise responsibility as voters.
Meanwhile I think President Obama is showing signs of desperation. I would not be totally surprised that we wind up with a test of the incapacity amendment, or even a suicide which would elevate Vice President Biden. The day we saw Candidate Obama on the Roman style stage in Denver with all but the olive wreath and toga we had to know that we were headed for trouble.
Palmer.
They made a TV show about this administration in the 60s–Gilligan’s Island. This time it’s without the laugh track. Skipper…Skipper!!
The night that Brown won in MA my business partner (who had voted for Obama) called me to tell me we had won in MA. This night telephone call was the first from my partner in 20 years.
The fear and loathing expressed by my partner is everywhere in the good old USA.
I say again it takes this kind of shock to get the conservatives moving. Obama has done us a huge favor if we survive.
Rich Rostrom (#49), you may be correct about Obama not being deeply involved in Chicago-Illinois graft, but we already know one fact from his presidential campaign which suggests that he took payoffs like most Chicago Democrats. Remember those weekly poker games with lobbyists in the state legislature? What a great way to be bribed! “Oh Mr. State legislator, what a good poker player you are! You’ve taken the pot again! Gee, we’ll just have to set up another game next week so I can have another chance to win back my losses.” It struck me at the time that this is exactly the sort of graft that would be next to impossible to prove in court, even if one of the lobbyists started to sing, so we know that Obama was often cautious when participating in Chicago-style corruption. The real question is whether he was always cautious — and the dodgy property deal when he bought his house suggests that there is other more damaging stuff out there.
This is the kind of president we get when our “watchdog” media turns into a lap dog. We STILL don’t know who this guy is. He got a completely free ride during the campaign. The press has a lot to answer for.
What scares me now is that while his increasing political weakness may stave off catastrophe domestically (and even that is iffy), that same weakness is bound to attract global predators. “The bleat of the lamb excites the tiger.”
Oy gevalt, weakened from within, attacked from without (Gd forbid) — is that not the Perfect Jihad?

Is Obama a nut? Dunno for sure — but Eric Holder is definitely one poisonous mushroom of an Attorney General.
I don’t think the democrats care one bit that socialism doesn’t work, their priority is force it on the American people and grow the state of dependency in order to empower themselves.
My favorite bit – “never had to deal with any personal advesity.” He has never faced a single person who has disagreed with him until he got to the White House, and he cannot understand what is happening. I predict a heart attack in the next 18 months – the stress, the lack of sleep, the smoking, the confusion. He better survive. The only thing worse than Obama would be President Biden. Palin doesn’t look so bad any more, does she?
Roger, I absolutely agree.
I predicted shortly after he took office that he would be impeached by his own party. I think we inch closer to it daily.
Familiar pattern: Affirmative Action Admit that cant handle the course load, leading to frustration and anger, blames whitey, blames the system, quits college.
Not that I am currently filled with the warm fuzzies for “Wall Street,” but I suspect Roger’s antennas quiver together with mine when the evil “bankers” become scapegoats.
Gee, did Katie Couric even think about asking Obama if he ever read any or even a — book on Economic Theory? Did she ask if he’d ever read Adam Smith? Or even Henry Hazlitt? How about Milton Friedman?
Maybe we need a Constitutional Amendment requiring that anyone running for President must have at least read a book or two about OUR system of economics? And about the failure of Socialism?
