Merry Christmas from rainy Los Angeles

December 25, 2008 - 10:05 am - by Roger L Simon

I was about to say that’s as close as we get to a White Christmas, but with all the global cooling going on these days… who knows?  In any case, Feliz Navidad to all readers of this blog. Next year is going to be an interesting one – but it always is in what our good friend Dr. Pangloss called “the best of all possible worlds.”  And maybe he was right.

And here’s one of my favorite Christmas songs for you.  Strike that.  Here’s my favorite Christmas song.

Maybe this version is better.  See what you think.

Merry Christmas. May God bless everyone.

  3. Roger,

Back during our last ice age my home town was underwater. LA on the other hand was high and dry, but got more rain. Wind patterns and so rainfall patterns shifted. Keep in mind that Southern California is on the same latitude as North Africa. As a matter of fact, both LA, Orange, and San Diego County are all south of Oran, Algeria. I think the last time the LA area was under ice, multi-cellular life had yet to evolve. (Then again, the LA area had yet to evolve, geologically speaking.)

So as you sit there waiting for the chow and watching the ground dry, have a healthy chuckle at the plight of your neighbors to the south who are still getting dumped on.
