China/Tibet: Zombie in His Pajamas

April 11, 2008 - 12:07 pm - by Roger L Simon

I just want to thank Zombie for his dynamite photo essay on the Olympic demonstrations in SF. He certainly gets to the heart of the matter. Don’t miss it. More to come from Zombie on Pajamas, I hope.

So where were all these protestors when China was awarded the location of the games?

Seems like locking the barn after the horse has trotted off.

They were protesting Bush somewhere. Big ol’ rally, I’ll bet.

Boojum has a definite point. Far more effective to object when the location was being decided.

I’m afraid a sizable chunk of these people are “professional” protesters. Whitehall asks the pointed question “what is the overlap between the Free Tibeters and the usual Bay Area demonstators?” Not total, certainly.

And, as Whitehall points out, the rerouting of the torch run rather makes a mockery of the idea of run itself.

    (I think Zombie is female.)

Scrolling through the pics I could not help but admire the diversity of opinions among the good citizens of San Fran.

My sign would have gone something like this.

End discrimination and racism by freeing Tibet and Iran – Arabs are people too.

All those calls for countries to be liberated makes me think neocons have done a lot better than what they are given credit for ;)

Zombie is female, and a brave woman she is!
